I was thinking of getting one, but wanted to know if there was recommendations on the best price especially with a bundle. JoAnn's has a rose bundle that looks pretty good but I hate the idea of a pink Cricut. I am only considering the Cricut over the silhouette because it can now be used offline with an iOS app?
Would love to hear from individuals who have both a Cricut and and a silhouette.
Tia.

I'm a Cameo girl, but one of these days I'm going to get a Cricut. I was almost ready to give in and get one, but I just got an email from Cricut saying "Something BIG is coming... We have a lot to share with you at the Make Something You Love event." The picture is what makes me wonder. I figured it's prolly a generic pic of a corner, but I'm in no big rush. I also figured they would have debuted anything like a new machine at the Mixed Media Event. But anyway, I'm just kind of waiting to see if it's a new Cricut already or if they're spinning off into something new, or it's just some event hype that doesn't involve the actual machines before I go hunting for one.

I got that email, too, and I wondered the same thing.
I have both a Cameo and an Explore Air 2. They are both excellent machines. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Cameo does not require internet, especially if you choose to download an earlier (Legacy) version of the software. Their software is so much easier if you want to create anything of your own. It is fairly easy to trace images to create cutting files. It is faster and more responsive than the Cricut Design Space software, especially if you have a lot of fonts.
The Cricut Explore Air 2, however, can cut heavier things my Cameo cannot cut, which is why I bought it. They offer a much better blade than they used to. They offer Disney designs if you are a Disney fan. You need good internet to run it. It will not run without internet. You can import svg files without having to buy a designer's license (Silhouette requires the designer's license, but it is a one time fee and not that expensive). The software, however, is crap and runs slow, even when using their designs.
I use my Silhouette Cameo the vast majority of the time, but the Cricut Explore Air 2 is a good machine. It would be an amazing machine if they had decent software to go with it.
I also recommend that you check out the designs for both companies. Most people do not like to do their own design work and end up finding free files or buying designs. See if you prefer the designs from one or the other.

Many scrappers think it's going to be a scanner/printer.
Designs Space's last update however is causing some many problems with some scrappers. I need to use DS and I am hoping it's working for me. Sigh.
