I watched a couple of unboxing videos for the about to be released Wild Hare kits. I'm really intrigued by the concept of a curated kit based on a style profile I fill out and that not everyone's kit would be the same. I've been a FJ subscriber for a really long time but have been thinking about a switch. What does everyone else think? Their website isn't up and running yet, looks like it will be mid-August.

I receive their e-mails but have only watched one of the unboxing videos. I agree that it sounds very intriguing.
We'll have to wait and see.

I think I have a problem. I could not get past her hands waving all around for 3 whole minutes before she even started unboxing. Drove me nuts!

omg yes the hands. yikes!
i did continue to watch and she got some seriously old stuff in that kit. the pink alpha is an old dear lizzy that i bought long before moving to AZ and i've been here 3 yrs now. like dang.
also the clear thing from bella blvd from their color chaos line which is well over 1 yr old.
i was a member of a personalized kit club back in 2005. no clue now what it was called but same deal, you create a profile and they send stuff based on your likes. i got so much ugly not-my-style stuff it was pitiful. hopefully this club will do better.

I wonder if they give you a preview of what would be in a sample kit for "your" style. Since I scrap mainly about little boys and girls who have passed the pink & purple stage, I would need like the exact opposite of the kit in the unboxing.
Since I am lucky enough to have a LSS (where I can pick and choose exactly what I "need") in a nearby city and a kit club sub (that provides that little different perspective that gets me out of my comfort zone) from a LSS in a city a bit further away, I won't be signing up for this anyway, but just interested to know what a kit would look like if it were for active little boys? Or sports? Or travel?

ok i went and watched the other 2 videos linked in the first one and every single sheet of paper, except the aforementioned bella blvd clear thing, was from AC.
so basically these are regurgitated hip kits minus the exclusives. which is totally ok if that's your vibe. me, i would prefer some variety.

I wouldn't sub to this kit for the same reason I never buy a warehouse box. I need to see what I'm receiving. I can't blindly throw my money at something. Plus, I have such a huge stash that I don't want or need duplicates of anything.

Hmm you ladies are all making some really good points! That's hilarious on the hands!

I'm giggling so hard at all the hand comments. They also drive me nuts. And they're usually associated with waaaay too much talking. "Get to the point lady! Show us the goods!" Anyone else remember the early days of YouTube and the Daft Punk hands video?

I just fast forward to where they actually shows the kit. Whimsyfox did a good job on her kit I thought. But I still fast forwarded through the beginning part. I'm definitely intrigued by the idea. I wonder how it would really work logistically and what price point they're at.

Isn't "customizing" the kits just a way to sell off your hoard so that you can send different stuff to different people? I bet there are a few Peas with hoards large enough to do something like this!

I can't watch the video because of all the movement. Okay, so it wasn't just me. *whew* Her hand movements were so distracting. I wouldn't sub to this kit for the same reason I never buy a warehouse box. I need to see what I'm receiving. I can't blindly throw my money at something. I can't buy blindly, either. It would give me anxiety to worry that I was wasting my scrappy allowance on stuff i wouldn't love. Yeah, this personalized kit of old stuff isn't my thing. And i also wouldn't want to get random craft crap in my kit, either. Mini pom-poms? No thank you. Apparently if you make it small enough to glue onto a 12x12 sheet of paper, it is considered scrapbooking supplies.

It drives me crazy when any scrapbook related video focusing on product feels the need to fill the first few minutes of the video with gabbing while I get to see nothing. Then this video is so much worse because of the hands. Truly, though, I pretty much hate videos. I'd prefer nice photos and something to read over a video any day. I get annoyed way too easily with way too many aspects of videos. And that's with any sort of video--scrappy or otherwise. The other day I was trying to watch some WDW videos and the only ones I could tolerate were the professional ones by Disney. I'm just not a video girl.

No. No to the video. No to the kit. No to the outdated product we likely already have sitting in our stash.

My biggest pet peeve with craft videos is the hands. I don't need to listen to you explain shit I don't care about for five minutes while you stroke the album, cutting mat, whatever is on your desk. Just say hello and get to the crafting. Making me listen to you make small talk and staring at your hands earns you a thumbs down (with no comment because we've all wasted too much time at this point) and i'm hitting the back button.

I can see how this might work for me. I am clueless about the latest releases. I could probably say the name of the manufacturer of the items in my stash, but not the line or the year it was released. I tend to buy from scrap deal websites that have old product. I also like my papers to have a consistent look. For example, Christmas I prefer lots of red and white, a little green and a little black with a vintage touch. I'd be OK with old product if they go with what I love.
Also my stash is not huge, especially when it comes to embellishments. I think I would enjoy that part. I don't see duplicates happening often.

I don't sub anywhere but from what I've seen kits are usually coordinated by color and theme. This didn't seem to be either. Even the host didn't know what to do with that random giraffe. From what I'm reading here the items aren't even current. It does sound like a grab bag of leftovers.

I got my kit this week. I did the smaller kit just to try it out. It's a fun concept but I wouldn't order again. 4 pieces of older paper (which is fine, it wasn't stuff I had, but that may not be for everyone), a package of clips I won't use at all, a sheet of puffy stickers that are so-so. Two of the papers are nice, two I wouldn't have bought. Not worth the $20 pus $9 shipping. Definitely didn't get $29 worth of stuff. I felt the shipping was really high. Anyway thought you ladies might want to know. I feel bad for not liking the kit, the owner sounds very nice but it isn't for me.

Thank you! Yeah I'm kind a bummed. It sounds like other people are really liking it, so hopefully they find their audience. Maybe I'll try it again down the road.
