Good Evening Peas! I hope all is well with everyone! I finally got the first of my Mayberry pages done. I am sure you have all seen the Andy Griffith Show at one time or another. We visited where those tv shows were made. My page did not come exactly like I had in my head but I think it is a good one anyway, nylene-I love those Cousin Camp pages and will be going over to leave you some love. grammadee did yu get everything you had planned for today done. LisaDV I too love your new avatar. You rock GF! kellyr21 I wondered what you decided to get yourself into. Can't wait to see what you do with it! Well here's my layout and I am getting off after a visit to the gallery as I am really tired tonight. I'm home again. I drove back yesterday because it was my friend's birthday and we went to a Paint Nite. It was fun and I will try and post my painting later.
I'm trying to get back in my routine, so I was up early to walk with that same friend. We cut it a bit short due to rain. And as soon as I got home, the power went out. A half hour and counting so far. Maybe I will go back to bed. Of out for breakfast. I could scrap. I have a battery operated light. I'm so spoiled by modern conveniences. Have a good day everyone.

Great new avatars, LisaDV and kellyr21! I change mine so seldom that when I do I have no end of trouble getting it to work. Left love for your pages, nylene and scrapincin. So glad SOMEBODY is scrapping! Not to worry! Next week, justjac and I are going to have our own little crop here at the house, so I hope to get a lot of photos on pages those 3 days! Meanwhile, I have started sorting through this mess in my scraproom. I want to not be wasting a lot of time looking for what I need next week when I am creating. I also need to fill a tub with supplies and tools for our family reunion on the weekend. Not sure how the scrappping will work, but I am thinking we will be putting together a quick album to commemorate that weekend. 8 1/2 x 11" pages. Then we can make copies for anyone who wants them. Think I am just going to grab most of the pp we will use there from a drawer I have not even opened in awhile. Who knows? Maybe some of the scrappers there will love its contents? Or maybe I will love them once they see the light of day again! Anyway, off to my garden. My life has been reduced to: Pick something. Prepare it. Eat (or preserve) it. Peas are again on the agenda. Will have to check while I am down there to see what else is waving at me. Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!

Thanks for the new avatar love. I had to put up an avatar at the digital site I've been participating in challenges at, so I updated this one's as well. kellyr21 , I hope your staying cool. I hate humidity. bleh! I can't wait to see what you made in art class. Personally, I think it's the easiest medium to work with, but I've heard watercolorist say it's their medium and oil painters say it's oil. lol. SO I guess it's what you're used to using. As for sewing, I have sewn but am not an expert by any means. My sister gave me her old sewing machine when I was 13. I made a dress for 4-H and a homecoming outfit later on (about 15yo). And various little items in between. I wanted to be a fashion designer at that age. I would occasionally pull out the machine throughout the years and start project but not finish them. The last finished project was jedi robes for the kids with my new machine and that was around 2010 or just before. I'm currently working on my first quilt and it's 4 years in the making. I wanted to do it for my great niece when she was a baby, she's 4 now! But life was not cooperative. I think I can get it finished by Christmas this year though. nylene , we go this month to the mayo. Her and I fly out on the 19th so I can take her patch off and she'll be drug free for any testing they might want to do. Don and DS will drive out and be there hopefully Sunday, but maybe Monday if Don has to go to a meeting on Monday. DD has to be at the mayo at 7:30am on Tues, the 22nd. They have a scheduled until Thursday afternoon. I hope they can figure it out within that time frame. Also DS's birthday is Saturday the 26th. He'll be 15!! So we hope to do something fun on the 25th and 26th. But we have to be back in Michigan by Sunday evening as Don has important meetings the following Monday morning. I love the blue shirts for cousin camp. Your Pages are amazing! I like that you used the hand design as an embellishment and as a stencil. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the photo with the cousins in a line but tilting opposite ways. You are so clever! I will leave love on these pages as soon as I finish posting here. Also how's Steve? scrapincin , Your Mayberry pages are beautiful. I love the vignette photos!! Did you blend them digitally and print the background out? Lovely. justjac , a paint nite sounds like fun. I've always wanted to do one. Sounds like the universe is telling you to enjoy your day and not worry about routines quite yet. That's what I'd take it as anyway. But I woke at 6 this morning, started a load of laundry and then decided to go back to bed and slept until 8. So maybe I'm not the one to give advice. Yesterday, I finally took apart my photo order of January through May's photos and put the stories together and then placed each set into a package (a collection, club kit, or made up papers to go with the stories). I left out the photos that I was using with other stories as I haven't journaled yet and have to do that before I know which papers to use. Today, I'm hoping to do a quick clean up and then we're, like grammadee, picking the garden and doing some preserving - canning, freezing, etc which will I'm sure will carry over until tomorrow as well. In my down time, I hope to get a digital page finished or some organizing. As I have some organizing to do before I can do any traditional layouts.

Happy Tuesday! My day is going well and hope to get some crafts done this evening. I went to Ross last night to get a couple of shirts and the prices were soo good. Also, I hope to get to Walmart to find a file box. I have a bunch of file folders and need to put them into something proper. Here is my painting from art class. I love these little love birds. I wonder what we will do this week. Love Birds Art by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene - The class I am taking is with the YMCA. I am not a member but we can still take the class of course at a higher price but still very affordable. LisaDV - Looking good girl!!! I like your new pic too. You did have some good sewing experience in the past. I hope the class gets you excited to sew again. Maybe your fashion designer dreams are still in ya. I was in the 4-H club as a girl too. In my neigborhor, some of us kids had lambs or cows (steers) that we entered. If I had know about the home ec categories, maybe my mom and I would of entered. I had no idea 4-H was more than live stock. grammadee LisaDV- You both are just picking away in you gardens. Enjoy all those fresh food. Has everything you planted grown up yet?

Good Thursday morning! This week is flying by! I have a respite from the garden today. Don't have anything that MUST be picked and preserved. Hoping to get a few raspberries later. They may be the last of them. And at some point I need to rescue some cauliflower I have been leaving out there hoping they will grow some more, but it is supposed to be hot and dry the next few days, so they will need to come out. In the house, I am getting ready for the family reunion this weekend. It is being hosted by a sister in law who lives about half an hour's drive away, but at least one of my nieces plans to sleep here, so I am washing bedding this morning. Need to get the upstairs ready for habitation again. In my scraproom, I am busy getting stuff ready to cart to the reunion. Have pulled out a bunch of pp I haven't used in a long while and am cutting it into 8 1/2 x 11" pages. Am also planning to pack up the cutting scraps. I need to find a way to house some brads, stickers, and journaling spots that go with the papers in a way that people can flip through them and choose what they want to use for their page. When the reunion is over, I plan to give whatever supplies are left over to my niece who teaches grade two. I also need to pack up my Canon Selphy printer and refills, plus a paper cutter and some other basic tools, as well as some pens. Also need to charge my camera battery so I can take lots of pix at the event. Hoping to get a mug shot of everyone there and then print it for their page in the reunion scrapbook which will be copied for each family when we are done. I finished a couple of birthday cards yesterday evening, and got some pic's this morning. This one is for my brother whose 81st bd will occur during the reunion. Played with TH inks again for the inside of this window card. I am also loving the TE stamp set that goes with the dies for the police car and the fire truck. sound the alarm 81 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And here is a card for my youngest dgs's bd. I need to get this into the mail tomorrow. Happy 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

And it is Friday... What are your weekend plans? When does school start for you nylene? What is going on in SoCal this weekend, kellyr21? Wishing you all a good trip, LisaDV, and hopefully some answers for your dd's health issues. Did you get back into your scraproom, scrapincin? What's happenin' in YOUR world, msliz and @elaynef? And maribeth, did you get back from your camping trip? Or are you about to leave for one? I envy your being able to do that. I loved the times I was able to just live for the moment out at the lake. I have my sb supplies and little photo printer all packed and in the vehicle to take to the family reunion. Just need to reunite my camera with its battery and get that in there with them. One last trip to the garden to pick the last of the raspberries and cut out a few other veggies, and I am off to mingle with relatives for a couple of days. And my scraproom is all ready for lots of creativity next week when justjac comes to play. Have a great weekend, Pokeys! "See" you next week!

justjac , I love your Flowers layout in the gallery and your painting. Is it a one night painting class or will you do others? kellyr21 , do you have more nights of painting in your class? What a fun thing to do. I'm sure you are loving it. grammadee , I just saw that you have done over 200 layouts this year. I am so impressed! Please don't decide you are too fast for the Pokey Peas. We love seeing your work and chatting with you. We learn so much from each other on this thread. Have a great trip to the reunion. Do you hold it in a building or a park? How many usually attend? My goal for the year is one layout a week. I am pretty close to my goal. Your goal of a layout a day makes my head swim! Congrats on your work! LisaDV , I am praying for a great trip for you and DD to the Mayo. I'm praying for doctors to have the insight to diagnose her properly and develop treatment models. Hugs to both of you. scrapincin, I'm anxious to see the other photos you took in "Mayberry". The other day I was kicking my shoes off and lost my balance and fell. My hip, knee and back just don't seem to be improving. I hate to go see the Dr. but if I am not better by Monday, I will. Our grandson gets married on Friday so I'd like to be able to help out at the reception. Here's a layout of Anj's kids decorating eggs. They really enjoyed "painting" eggs instead of dyeing them this year. Coloring Eggs by Nylene Budge, on Flickr Waving to all our Pokey Peas!

Hi Pokeys, I've been away from my scrap table all summer long, but when September comes I'll be reclaiming my table from DD14. She's been happily painting with her watercolors at my table while DH and I have been painting with decking stain. To be fair, she helped paint the deck too. A little. Before that, I was in Cape Cod for a week, and I came back with a few beach photos.
I love seeing all your pages and projects. I'm really looking forward to creating again!

Happy Friday! I hope you all are doing well today. I did go to my art class last night and had fun. We did a painting of cactus and I would of never thought about doing something like this but it was a fun challenge. So we have the rest of this month every Thursday then they said they will start a new class this fall. So I hope to keep going.
Another thing I tried was iron on vinyl. I had brought some a few weeks ago and wanted to use my Cricut to cut out some words and iron on my canvas bags and even t-shirts for my current collection. So after getting my new cutting mat and I was able to cut and iron and boy does it look great. So now I want to get more bags and tees and iron away!!! LOL! I just want to see how it washes, if it cracks or peels.
nylene - Oh and I glad your fall wasn't worse and hope you feel better soon.
grammadee - Have a great time at the reunion!!!! No big plans for us this weekend but hope to do a little shopping and chilling.
LisaDV - How are you farm animal babies doing these days?
msliz - Glad to see ya and hope you can get back to scrapping when you can. I haven't scrapped in a while and got some catching up to do too.
scrapincin- Football is back! I hope our teams do better this year.

kellyr21 , Great artistry! I left love the other day when I saw it pop up in the gallery. The farm animal babies are good, growing and eating up a storm!!! Good thing they like table scraps too. Of course, our beagle gets really pouty when the chickens get the meat. ha. grammadee , cute cards, especially the 2 (love those dots). I'll leave love later this weekend while you're off enjoying your family gathering. justjac , I've seen some wonderful projects in the gallery with your name on them today and hope to get back to leave later on those as well. So glad to see you getting time to create. nylene , oh, no! I hope you heal up without the doctor. Have you tried arnica gel. It's really great for muscles and bruises. If it's more than that, then it won't help. Your egg layout is gorgeous. You're rocking the mixed media lately. msliz , it's good to see you posting again. Did you have a good time in Cape Cod? Was it a family vacation? It's Friday evening here. I had an eye dr. appt. this morning. I started using latisse to help my thinning eye lashes about a month ago. Since it can change your eye pressure and vision, I had to have a follow-up. I'm good. The eye lashes themselves, I think have gotten a bit longer, not really noticeable to others. But they haven't gotten thicker yet. The Doc gave me good news, he said that I had lots of little lashes growing, that I probably just couldn't tell yet since my lashes are so thin anyway. But I should see some major improvement shortly. woot woot! Thanks for the good wishes for our trip week after next. Well, I guess 1 week from tomorrow. I'm excited and really nervous at the same time, so I appreciate the prayers, positive thoughts and good wishes. Yesterday I just put up cucumbers. grammadee , what else do you do with cucumbers besides eat fresh, make pickles and pickle relish? I have enough of the later for the year and some to give away, so I'm not sure what else to do to preserve. I figured I could take some to church on Sunday. This afternoon I picked the tomatoes and peppers that were ready. So I'll deal with them tomorrow morning. Hopefully get the zucchini tomorrow afternoon. I think between packing and the garden, my next week will be spent. I did get 6 digital pages accomplished this week and have one more in the works. It seems that the digital ones are all I can get to right now. I'll post my layouts after finishing the next one. Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Saturday evening to one and all. Hope going well for everyone. nylene I am so sorry to hear about your fall. I know I lose my balance a lot just have been lucky that I was close to something that I could hold on to. There is an exercise you can do to increase the balance. Stand next to chair and raise 1 foot out in front of you-not real high and hold it there Then repeat it 5-8 times. then switch to the other foot. I am ready to start gluing things down on mylayout. LisaDV I hope you have a very safe trip to Minnesota and I hope they are able to help her. grammadee-hope you have a safe trip this weekend. Family reunions are so much fun. I am sure you will enjoy yourself. kellyr21-Yes can you believe that the Browns won their first exhibition game! That quarterback from Notre Dame really knows what he is doing!! Your art classes sound like fun. Want to thank everyone for all of your kind words on my layouts.

Just stopping in for a quick chat. County Fair starts tomorrow and that means a busy time for me. We don't have many projects to enter this year, but I will be around to help out all week. My Distress Oxides arrived on Sat but I haven't had a chance to play with them and probably won't until next week. I still haven't heard from the school whether they want me to work with remedial reading again this year. They have dropped the old program and are coming up with something new. I would be in a classroom the entire time and I'm afraid I'll end up being a teacher's aide rather than a teacher. If they don't need me to teach I am going to check with some of the other elem. schools around. There's another mostly Hispanic student school just a few blocks from me. I will check with them. LisaDV, love all your layouts. Thanks for posting them here. See you all later in the week.

Good Sunday evening, Pokeys! I am home from the family reunion with a lot of great memories and 268 photos to prove it. Actually, many of those photos have been printed already, as I took 2 or more "mug shots" of each of the couples and many of the individuals who attended, then immediately printed the photo each chose. Had the people in the photos--or their family members--create a page with each of the chosen photos. So those pics are already scrapbooked! (and I don't need to print the alternative photos unless I find some other reason to do that). I still have a lot of casual shots and shots of different activities that will need to be printed so I can add them to the reunion scrapbook before it is scanned, posted, and perhaps copied and printed. Still working on the distribution details. I was missing my own kids and grandkids who couldn't attend, but had a great time reconnecting with my brothers' families, and meeting some youngsters as well as new girlfriends. Love your pages, LisaDV and nylene! Hope to have something to post by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. When justjac is here I am hoping to put together a bunch of pages. Not sure if I will stick with the reunion so I can say that book is FINISHED, or if I will dive into the activity pix of my dgk's from June and July to kind of wrap up my Summer album. Hmmm... Anyway, heading off to bed. I sat down for a minute when we got home this afternoon, and when I woke up and looked at the clock I couldn't figure out for a minute if it was morning or afternoon: I think 2 nights of bedtime after midnight are catching up on me!

Hey everybody. I had a great weekend. Friday night I had some girlfriends over for boardgames. We played a new one called Mysterium that was quite fun. Saturday, DH and I headed to the city (about 2 hours away) to see Cirque du Soleil Kurios. It was very steampunk. We stayed overnight and did a little shopping and then headed home. We went to IKEA and bought the supplied to put under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. When we got home I made a double page layout for mini-Layout A Day. It runs from Sunday, August 13 for a week. The theme is the movie Now and Then. This layout is from 2012 and you might recognize grammadee . Oh Baby by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr I've also been working on finishing up Christmas 2009 which I started with for Christmas in July. I used some of Carta Bella's Toy Box collection. Toys by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr Great painting kellyr21 . I did one, too. nylene you asked about it. It was just a one time evening. Right now Paint Nites are very popular here. You can buy a ticket for $45 (or less if you have a coupon) and then you get step by step instruction to make a painting over 2-3 hours. All supplies are included. Usually these nights are hosted at places where you can order food and drinks. Here's the last one I did. I have attended four so far. Paint Nite by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr LisaDV your pages are great! You are on a roll. I'm heading to grammadee 's on Wednesday for a couple of days of scrapping, so I hope to get more done. I'm thinking I'll keep working on Christmases Past because I don't feel like repacking my stuff. I do want to continue my organization and purge of my craft room. I'm done with paper and washi (although I kept almost all of the washi) and I'm on to ribbon. Have a great week everybody!

Just stopped by to say Hi to everyone! I see everyone is getting stuff done but me! I left you all some love in the gallery. I am still working on mine....had a family reunion to go to yesterday. It was the family that I helped with the photos of the family members in the military. School starts here Wednesday. Sixth graders are the only ones going so they can change classes which they are not used to doing. nylene how are you feeling? Did you go to the doctor? I feel so bad for you . If it is not one thing it is another. When do you go back? Not much else to talk about from me so I will be back later!

scrapincin , I am feeling much better. Thanks for asking. My hip only hurts when I do stairs and since I have stairs to get into my house, I am limiting my trips up and down. I took things to the Fair today and had to walk quite a ways carrying projects. It was fine. I'm pretty much back to normal. I'm sure the family reunion attendees appreciate the scrapping work you did last year. School starts here a week from tomorrow. Em and family have been in Michigan for 10 days and I am really missing the kids. They will be home tomorrow night and my son should be home from Chile the next day. His son is being married on Friday, so I hope there are not glitches in the travel. I forgot to post a link to my card. I made a whole bunch like this and just changed the image on the inked background. I had so much fun playing with the inks. Hello Pokeys. I am glad your hip is improving, nylene. Remember when we could just jump up and say "I'm OK" and get on with our day? I love what you have done with the watercolour effects. How did your family reunion go, scrapincin. I bet they loved looking at the scrapbook. I took the one we made 11 years ago to our reunion, and lots of people--especially the teens who were really young at that reunion--spent a lot of time going through it. One bunch was huddled on the back deck reading it with a flashlight Saturday night! Loving your pages celebrating events and activities of a few years ago, justjac. You do those LOAD challenges really well! Quiet day today. I organized this year's reunion scrapbook, discovered which pages needed to be filled in, and started printing the photos for them. Completed MY page and a couple of others--all simple pages, basically a photo, the name(s) which serves as title, and maybe a sticker or two. Tomorrow I need to get back into veggie preservation mode. Need to make a batch of mustard relish. And if I am going to do that, I need to get to bed STAT!

It's Wednesday. And I am excited that justjac is coming to play! Two days of creativity and fun starting in a few hours! I hope I can get my creative brain to a place where ideas are flowing again. I have been busy doing other things, and not sleeping well, so mind and body are just tired... Doesn't help that my ultramatic bed decided to play by itself in the middle of the night last night: just started raising and lowering head &/or feet at random times. I guess the lightning storm that passed by had it freaked. Anyway, when I finally was rational enough to think it through I unplugged it, then plugged it in to set it the way I wanted it, then unplugged it so it couldn't go solo again. I love that bed, but not when it plays tricks on me in the middle of the night!!!

Good morning, Pokeys! Just dropping in for a minute before the crafting begins again. Yesterday I finished a page that had been sitting on my counter getting adjustments sporadically for days. Then I finished its facing page by doing most of the work on my computer. After justjac arrived, I was ready to start turning the pages out, so 8 more after that. Don't have those uploaded yet, but here are the two that got my head in gear: This one, having taken a week to finish should help me maintain my seat in the Pokey Peas living room: crazy weekend by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Here is its facing page. What is fun about it is that my dgd sent me not only the photos, but the story to go with them! Crazy weekend w cousins by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a great Thursday, Ladies!

justjac, I saw and left love on your lovely pages the other day. You did a fantastic job on your painting. Good luck with your continued purge and organization. nylene, I'm glad your hip is improving. I left love on your card the other day, but just saw the butterfly page. Oh My! It's so gorgeous!! I love the colors and patterns and the design and....had to fave it. Enjoy the fair. grammadee, we must have gotten your lightening this morning. I was already in town running last minute errands but Don said he woke to the beagle barking - at the lightening. Crazy dog. Great pages. I hope to leave some love on them before I take off. I love that your dgd sent the story and photos. grammadee and justjac, I hope you both are enjoying your time and getting lots of pages finished. The boys left a couple hours ago. They're off for their boys weekend and will be meeting us in MN on Monday. Since we have this evening and tomorrow until we take off, DD and I are going to be playing. Today is the acrylic paint pours that are so popular right now. She also might be doing a twine bowl with a balloon as the mold and then twine and glue. She just mentioned that tomorrow we should get out our gelli plates. I guess I'm going to be really busy until we leave, good thing I'm all packed. Off to go clean up and get painty.

Best wishes for you and your dd, lisadv. We'll be thinking g about yall.
Love hearing what everyone is doing. I've done several pages this week in gc albums of our visit to them in N.C.
One gs was diagnosed with diabetes shortly after our visit and his mom sent some pics from the hospital. I decided to hide them in a pocket so they wouldn't be in his face. Didn't know if he would ever want to see them.
I'm still obsessing on the sketch challenge for august and find myself trying to use it on every page. Dgd has 2 pages in a row with it in her album. I'm also proud to have forced myself to do some editing and ordered prints this week. I ordered 4 pics 4x10 so I could make some more layouts with that sketch.

Happy birthday, maribeth. LisaDV, I hope you and your dd have some great playtime and a safe trip! Glad you are scrapping @elaynef. Hope you get the time you need to scrap your newly printed photos. justjac left a little bit ago after our 48 hour play date. She has done some wonderfully sparkly pages of christmas past. I finished 26 pages during the 2 days, about my dgk's this summer. Still have tons of photos to plow through. Ran out of steam today, but hoping to get back into it tomorrow. After Jac left, I made an anniversary card for my dh. Tonight we are planning to go out with family to the Chinese restaurant in town. Will try to get some of my pages posted over the next few days. Have a great weekend!

Happy belated birthday, maribeth! Happy anniversary, grammadee! @elaynef, I like the idea of hiding the hospital photos for the little one. Enjoy creating with your new photos. I was sick all day yesterday, and DD had a decent day. Go figure. I felt so bad that we couldn't craft. It took me all day to finish the few things I needed to do for the trip. I told her we'd send the boys away when we got back and have a geliplate day. Oh, and the cat walked on one of my acrylic pour canvas. There is little paw prints on the folding table besides the other canvases and all over my coffee table and on the wooden arm of the futon. She also must have shook her paw to get the paint off as there were paint splatters of my paint color on my dd's painting. Acrylic paint pour by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr I'm feeling better today which is good, since we leave today. Thanks for all of the well wishes and prayers and positive thoughts. So I'm off to finish getting ready. Unfortunately, the house will be left a mess as I will not have time or energy to get it into shape.
