elayne- Yay for trying! If you think they are too busy why not try making them with 2-3 elements for example a round tag, a word tag and a flower. Lay the word tag across the circle then the flower on top of the word tag but not so much that you can't see the tag. here are some examples I got off of pinterest- link

I like your pages, @elaynef . Lately, if I find I think a page looks too cluttered, I am trying to move all the little bits together and leave a bit more "white space". Sometimes that means tucking items under larger ones, and sometimes that results in a cluster, but I have yet to create a cluster I love... We went out for supper last night and didn't get home until after my bedtime, so I am still a little spongy between the ears, but I am going to try to get a couple of pages done today. Still have tons of photos to play with, but not sure which ones to tackle first. Have printed off Chinagirl828 's August challenges, so hope to use at least one of them. Here are a few more pages from last week when justjac was here. I borrowed her railway related stamps for these two pages. Look, Ma: No patterned paper! All aboard by Gramma Dee, on Flickr All aboard2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And I used the latest Wild Whisper papers for this one. Managed to use some wood veneer and brads from my stash, too: so win/win: justify new purchase and use up some older items! kinsmen park fun by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Great job working on those clusters, @elaynef . grammadee and I were very prolific. I did 17 pages. I was also working on the Layout a Day mini, too. That ended Saturday. Yesterday I made a birthday card. This is my last week holidays. Tuesday afternoon I'm heading to my mom's. While I'm there, I'm also doing some card making with some high school friends. I have to make another birthday card today and pack up my card supplies. My friends haven't made cards before, so I'm taking the lead on this. I'm going to share a few pages here but I'll try not to overload the thread. Thanks for the lovely comments in Flickr. LisaDV I love those triangles! Great page. I actually broke out my Spectrum Noir pens for this card. My friend loves Gone With the Wind. Scarlett by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr This page is for my sister. I'm going to pop it into a shadowbox. I found some of my Mamarazzi by BoBunny and it was perfect. I loved that line. You & me by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr This was my Saturday LOAD page. Lake Annette by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr

@elaynef , your pages look wonderful. Your embellishments are just the right amount for the photos and size you scrap. I find it hard to do clusters on 8.5x11 because there isn't much room, but your pages look wonderful! I hope you will have fun scrapping all the newly printed photos. I am so sorry for the diagnosis of your DGS. I think it's a great idea to hide those photos away for a while, but someday they will be important to him. Happy Belated Anniversary to grammadee and your husband!LisaDV , your painting with acrylic looks like such fun. I don't even know what gelli plates are so I'll have to go google. Great pages. I will leave love in the gallery. I hope things are going well with you and your sweet daughter. Keep in touch please. scrapincin , I have hardly been in my scraproom at all. The Fair is over and the there were all First Place ribbons, so everyone is happy. The wedding was beautiful. It was a hot day, but a cool breeze came up and kept it cool. The only problem was that the wind blew over all the big poster size photos of the bride and groom they had displayed on easels. But Alex ran and put them back up, over and over and over....which was good for him to get rid of some energy. Brock helped for a while, but couldn't keep up with that little 4 year old. I am trying to catch up this week. Seems like last week was so busy. I have a layout laid out, but not glued together yet. Maybe tonight or in the morning I can get it finished. **I am such a nut. I didn't realize we had gone on to page 3, so I missed all those posts. I'll go read and post again later.

Thanks for your love in the Gallery, Ladies! nylene, it is so cool that you work with the dgk's on their fair projects. It is such a great family activity and I am sure they will remember it always. What with the fair and the wedding, you HAVE been busy! No worries if it takes awhile to catch up here. Looking forward to seeing your new page. You must have some great photos from the wedding. So cute about helpful little Alex! Hoping your trip went well, LisaDV and that they are able to help your dd. Got a call from the heart specialist today and they want to do another procedure on dh next week. It is the second half of what they had planned to do last time: putting a stint into a vessel in his heart. They weren't sure how to do it last time, but I guess they have figured out a way. So it will be back to the city the end of next week. I am always amazed scrapincin with how you can help so many people solve scrappy and techy problems! I will have to take a look at the cluster inspiration as well. Like @elaynef, I love to look at them, but am still working on getting them to work for me. I think I need to go with smaller pieces. justjac did some really great ones with tiny little elements when she was here. Hoping that the end of summer is being good to kellyr21 and maribeth. Hope you have had lots of interesting experiences you can scrap in the next few weeks. Did you get your scrap room back again, msliz? I have been trying to keep up the momentum after getting crafty with justjac last week, and have managed to create something each day since. Tomorrow I will be creating borscht with my sister in law. Gathered the veggies from my garden today. Tomorrow we will be spending all day chopping and stirring. If we have enough beets, I may also make a batch of beet pickles.

Did you get your scrap room back again, msliz ? LOL, I've started to reclaim it! She's been away at Disney with DH, so I've been able to spend a little bit of time cleaning up when I'm not spending time with her big sister. Most of her painting supplies have been put away now, but there's still random stuff all over the place. Including suitcases that DH left out when they were figuring out which ones to bring. That's the problem with having your craft space in a shared area: everyone else's stuff ends up there too! Can't wait to get back to scrapping next month! Good luck with the borscht Yum

@elaynef, great pages. I especially like the one with the waterfall photos. Sorry for your little guy. I've been taking photos today at the clinic and dh and dd are like what the heck are you doing? You have problems. I just say she'll appreciate it when she's famous. justjac and grammadee, sounds like you two have been prolific with your crafty time. I'm current in the gallery as of today. justjac enjoy your last week of freedom! Dee, happy belated anniversary! My prayers for your dh's surgery. scrapincin, I hope you're feeling better. msliz, I'm ready to get back to traditional pages too, but I don't know when that will be. Digital helps keep me sane in the meantime. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes. Keep them coming. Our first day was today. A very full day and now we are here until Friday Sept 1st. Don will leave this Sunday. I will rent a car on Friday and drive home. Then we have to be back on Sept. 8th. Okay I gotta sign off.

I hope she's holding up well to all the tests and I hope they're able to find a way to help her. Coincidentally, at my DD's neurologist appointment today, the dr brought up Mayo Clinic as an inpatient facility we should consider (along with one other,) and she said she'd be happy to write the letter and send in the paperwork. If you don't mind, I might peamail you a bunch of questions about your experience there when you get back and everything settles down again. I'm glad she's able to laugh about you snapping your photos!

Hey ladies! Happy Tuesday night. I hope you all are doing well. Not much going on today but it was a nice one. The weekend was good. I ordered an Anna Griffin card kit last week and got it on Sat. It is one of those pop up card kits. I was happy to finally get one of those kits and maybe I can make the cards up with some ladies at my in-laws church. They would be nice to send to some of the members. Good to see all the scrapping going on here. You ladies are working! I gotta get back to my crafts tomorrow. I took a little break and now ready to finish my painting. I had a few more home deco wall art to finish and then that will be done for now. In all, I will have a collection full of tote bags, wall art, art, and maybe a few t-shirts. Maribeth- Happy belated birthday!!!! I hope you had a great time! Grammadee- Happy belated anniversary! Glad you enjoyed yourself. Lisadv- Oh, I a definitely sending up some prayers for your dd and you all. I hope you find some daily joys and peace while you are there. Take care of yourself Lisa. Scrapincin- Yes, football is back. I did see some of your team last night. I wonder which qb will start. We got two teams here now and I hope one of them will be good this year. LOL! Waving hi to you all and have a good one.

LisaDV and msliz , I am praying for your girls. You two will have lots to share with each other. Our Mayo trips were really helpful to our DD. LisaDV , I hope your DD is tolerating the test well. Hugs. kellyr21 , it sounds like you are getting very artsy. T-shirts and wall art and painting...what fun. Can't wait to see photos of your work. msliz , I'm glad you are going to get your scraproom back. I know how it feels to have everything piled there..that happens in my house too. grammadee and justjac , I think we are all jealous of your scrappy days together. It sounds like you were both very prolific! You are lucky to have each other close enough to get together. I'm loving your pages! @elaynef , how is the scrapping going? I think scrapincin 's instructions on clusters were great. I scrap the same size as you and I have to make my clusters really small or they overwhelm the page. We'd love to see more of your work. scrapincin , you are such a good resource to our board. If there is something you don't know, you learn and then share with everyone. We love you for that!! I think I am about ready to upgrade my Silhouette Studio. I waited until I had helped my friends, but one has upgraded and has questions. I may do that this weekend and hope to have some time to play around with it. maribeth , we are missing you, I am hoping that you are just busy and will be back when things settle down for you. Hugs! This is the grandson who was married Friday. His sister and brother will miss having him around, but especially his sister. He and Cassidy are best friends. Good afternoon, Pokeys! Left some love for that beautiful page in the Gallery, nylene . Looking forward to more wedding LO's. Hope you have a great time making cards with friends, justjac . Pretty soon you will have to pick up a table at the fall craft show to sell all the cards you are creating! I am slowly working on a bd card today. I need to make 5 of them for September birthdays. If I like this one, it may become a prototype and I can just go to work and assembly produce the others, maybe adding a little extra personal touch to each. First I have to finish this one. I am lifting GiantsFan's Thanks cards she posted in another thread. Sounds like you will have a ton of stuff to sell on line &/or at craft sales, kellyr21 ! I like the idea of artsy bags and pillows, and I suspect you will get lots of sales for them. Have fun collecting papers and extras for your dd's Disney album, and clearing out a space to work on them, msliz . That sounds like a fun project. I hope the tests are not too hard on your dd, LisaDV . And I am glad she is tolerating Mamarazi. She is such a good sport.

Hi everybody! Wow it is so nice to come on here and have friends say such nice things to you. I do love learning the techy stuff, and the scrapping techniques too. I always felt that if I learned something and someone else is having the same problem why not help them out. On another site I used to do tutorials and it just is the way to do things in my opinion. Also I have found some of the health stuff. I was diagnosed with emphysema and now have oxygen at home to use when I am active. I'm also in pulmonary Rehab and will be retraining muscles to work in my favor and then maybe get rid of the oxygen. When I went yesterday my oxygen saturation dropped to 88 after walking 2 small reps and it was 98 and normal is 95. So that is my long sad tale. kellyr21 well we may have our quarterback for the season-Kizer who was the QB from Notre Dame. nylene I am going to be adding the new software to my program and I will be here all weekend if you need some help. grammadee and justjac I don't know how you get so many pages done as you two do. It seems one of you fuels the other. Dee I am praying for your DH My brother has 2stents in now and is doing well with them. LisaDV I hope everything is going well for you and DD. Getting off for now ...have a good evening everyone.

Good morning, Pokeys. Hope you all have a terrific Thursday. scrapincin, I hope you can get and keep your oxygen levels up. Sounds like the therapy works pretty well. Keep up with the recommended exercises. We all need you breathing for a long time! Nothing exciting around here today. I need to get out to the garden and do some major weeding this morning before it starts raining. Really feels like fall this morning. Summers are way too short in this part of the world. Finished the card I started yesterday. I like the look of it, but if I am going to use this technique again, I need to use a different set of word dies. Replacing the little bits in the middle of the letters is a real PAIN! Oh well, by the time I got done fooling around, I now have two sets of the "positives" (the words themselves) cut and ready to pop onto a couple of cards. Here's my card. Thanks GiantsFan for the idea! oxide happy bd by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Scrapincin, best wishes for improvement with your breathing. And still thinking about you and dd, lisaadv. Grammadee, I wish we could share some of our Texas weather with you. It's hard to imagine a fall day. We expect to have over 90 until at least October. The hurricane will cooll us off to 88 today, but 90% humidity! I enjoy hearing everyones news and seeing your projects. Cute kids, nylene and I love those colors and great job on the clusters. I want to try copying them. I was trying to find a place to put our little weekend trip to the panhandle and ended up with a sort of big project. I have an 8x11 album that is a bunch of miscellaneous Texas trips but it is full and busting out, so I removed all the big bend national park pages to give them their own book. Our 1st trip there was in 1970 and we had a Polaroid and only have about 8 photos. I decided this morning I want to use a 12x12 postbound and redo some of the pages. Some I will use some undo and redo them entirely because I don't like them and had just started scrapping and some I will just put on 12x12 cardstock and make a little border or something. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm still obsessing with the August sketch... got some more 4x12s in the mail this morning.

grammadee your card looks great. I agree though, a word die that doesn't have a lot of innies is much easier. On my card I originally intended to pop them up, but to cut all those slivers of foam tape and stick them behind the letters seemed like too much work since I made a set of 10.

@elaynef, that project sounds like a lot of work, but also I think really enjoyable. You get to walk down memory lane, and since you are planning to simply transfer many of the pages and glue them to the larger ones, you can focus on re formatting just those you want to play with, so not as intimidating as taking on a full on redo. I love how you have used the August 2 page sketch for this page and the others you've done. I think LisaDV is going to NEED that chicken paper! Not a lot of crafty activity for me today. I finished another bd card using the leftovers from yesterday's card and a couple of extras. Still have a couple more to make. I also put the pages from last week and this into my Summer Album, and made a list of other pages I want to do with the photos that are on my counter and in my phone. Problem is the album is already almost full, and there are still a lot of pages on my list... Here is one of the pages I made last week when justjac was here. I hadn't posted it before, but when I looked at it this morning, I was thinking about on such a simple page how many different manufacturers' (at least 7) products I used. And I wanted to share with you this cute little helper with raspberry juice all over his face! So before I put it into the album, I snapped a photo and uploaded to the Gallery. let us help by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

@elaynef, your project sounds like a lot of work but a lot of fun. What memories will be brought back to you as you do this. I love grammadee's suggestions of just revamping the ones you don't like and adding others to the larger papers with some little bits. I love that chicken paper and your cute chicken photos. I think those tall photos all together look wonderful. That's such a great look. Thanks for sharing. I have been thinking about you and the hurricane. Aren't you right in the path? Hope things are OK there. grammadee, I love the colors on your layout and the cute photo of your DGS. I'll leave love in the gallery. I think you did a great job on the card. I'm sure it took more time than you thought it would but it turned out beautifully. scrapincin, how's the O2 working? I hope this therapy will really help you and you can do the things you want and need to do. Hugs to you as you get used to it. I am hoping to be able to try out my oxide inks this weekend. It seems the days zip by too fast! Sending waves and hugs to each of our Pokeys. Stop in when you have time. LisaDV, how are things going with you and DD. Still adding you and your family to our prayers. I hope you are having some fun times as well as the testings. How is the new Silhouette software working? I need to do it when I have a little more time to play with it. We have been filling in for other couples on vacation so have had Addiction meetings every night this week. It's wearing us out. We love our little group, but we'll be glad when the other leaders return.

Hi everybody! Here we are again starting another weekend! Made two therapy sessions this week-I go M-w-and fridays. They have working on four different exercise machines for 5 minutes each and then I walk 9 laps around a very short track. I wear the O2 the entire time and they are checking my oxygen levels several times. So far so good. It is not giving me too much trouble-no soreness yet and if I start to get winded I just stop and rest till I am ready to go again. I have noticed that I am sleeping better and longer. So here's hoping!
I have not finished my layout yet as I can not get in my room. We have a small leak in a new faucet and access to the faucet is in the back of the closet in the scrap room. So there were bins of photos and such that are now in the rest of the room. Hopefully Kellie's SO will be here soon to fix it. I installed the newest software on this laptop but have not been able to play with much. I need to add it to the desktop in the scraproom which is attached to the Cameo. I am thinking about upgrading to designer Edition Plus but wanting to see if would be a good idea.
Thanks for all of your encouragement and good wishes. Waving hello to everyone! Elayne Love your pages! You did an awesome job with them.

OMG, I just left lots of praise in the gallery! Boy you gals have really been scrapping! Bravo! My week has been quiet but I did get to my art class last night. We used india inks to make these abstract designs. You put a big drop of ink on the paper and then use a straw to blow it over your paper. You keep blowing the wet streams in different directions. It was pretty neat even though after some blowing my head didn't feel like doing more. LOL! So, I got innovation and tried some non blowing experiments. LOL! Next week a new session of classes start and I hope I can go since it the will an hour earlier and we only have one car. scrapincin- Sending you a hug and hope your new treatment continues to help. Also, maybe the upcoming football season will help you feel better too. @elaynef- Happy to hear you are not close to that hurricane and hope it cools off there. We are suppose to heat up again out here into the 100's so here we go. nylene- Your lo of your dgd is soooo fab! How did you do the sunburst look?

@elaynef, your pages are so wonderful. And I had that chicken paper! Daisy D, right? kellyr21, we love doing the ink blowing. When I taught mixed media at the homeschool coop, they loved it too. I hope you get to continue your classes. nylene, it's so nice of you to help out for vacations, but I can totally see how that would be tiring. Let us know how the upgrade on silhouette goes. It'll be a couple of weeks before I can even think about it. grammadee, we're feeling fall already in the air here in MN too. I think we are a little south in Michigan but not much. I wonder what are winter will be with such a cool summer? You and your dh are in my prayers as he prepares for surgery. It's later this week, right? Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. DD had been doing really well with even the days where her number is up she has still had lower numbers as well (her pain scale). The allergist said a/c to eliminate allergens and we now can correlate some improvement to her health when we travel. We have just chalked it up to her being excited about being out. Next Wednesday is her colonoscopy and endoscopy which will be her last test until Sept. 8th. We enjoyed a zoo/nature outing on Friday (because we don't get enough nature on 47 acres. Ha. On Saturday we went to mall of America and to the aquarium. Don had to leave yesterday, but the kids and I went to see the Mayowood Mansion which was built by one of the Mayo brothers. We enjoyed the zoo/nature center the best of all. Today we're relaxing, maybe going to the pool. Her diet is limited today and tomorrow starts the colon cleanse. She's not looking forward to it, and DS has already warned that after a week or two he will be making jokes about it. At least he knows enough to not do so during the process😂. Oh! Loved all the projects and have left love in the gallery!

Happy Monday, everyone! That hurricane sounds really scary, @elaynef . I am happy you are out of its path, but am feeling for all those who are right in the middle of it. The photos and videos we have seen here are horrendous! Glad to hear that your dd is doing well with the testing LisaDV and that you are getting to go on some adventures with the kids while you are away from home. Hoping you will get used to the therapy routines, scrapincin and that they allow you to breathe more freely. There are so many difficult things to do in this world: breathing should not be one of them. I hope you get a break soon, nylene . That is a lot of commitment and those people are lucky to have you. That paint blowing sounds fun, kellyr21 . Are you going to add that to your repertoire of techniques for artsy products you sell? We had a pretty relaxing weekend. Had justjac and hubby over for supper on Saturday. Sunday we picked and cooked chokecherries and today I bottled up some jelly. Meanwhile I have been working on cards. So far, I have one for my dgd who turns 12 early September: sweet bd by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I also have cards for two adult September birthdays (my ddil and dn): fall bd cards by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I used up a bunch of scraps from an earlier card I posted and my dgd's card to create a couple of extras: honeycomb bds by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And I made a gatefold card for my dgs who turns 18 on the same day as his sister turns 12. Here is the outside: 18 outside by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I have attached below a photo of the inside of the card. Attachments:

Hi, Pokeys! kellyr21, your art class sounds like fun. I am anxious to see your new designs with the ink blowing. Will you be doing another blog post about your recent artwork? Is it still really hot in So Cal? We are having really hot days, but cloudy and a few raindrops in the evenings. @elaynef, I am so glad you are out of harm's way. I have a niece and family who were told to stay put in Houston. She says she can drive out of the neighborhood, but then would need a boat to get to higher ground. She's hoping all the expected rain doesn't flood their home. grammadee, I somehow missed your post about your DH needing another heart procedure. Do you know when that will be and will you have to travel to have it done? I'm loving everything you are doing with your new inks. I'm looking forward to having a few hours to play with them. LisaDV, I am glad your DD is tolerating the testing. I'm also glad that you have been able to go out and do some fun things together between tests. It sounds like some of this is allergy related. Will that be a big project to add air conditioning to your home? Hugs to both of you. You are in my prayers. scrapincin, I am so glad that the therapy is tolerable and that you are doing well. Three times a week means you don't have a lot of time to scrap right now. I hope this makes a big difference in your breathing and that you can get off O2. My dad smoked from age 14 to 58. I am surprised he didn't get emphysema. He was very fortunate. You are always in my prayers. I need you breathing for a L-O-N-G time. Waving to justjac, msliz, and all our other Pokeys. Do you all realize that this month is almost over....Sept on Friday. Where did the time go?

grammadee, those cards are all super, but I'm really loving the gate fold and first one for dgd12. Those colors!!! nylene, not only am I surprised it's the end of August but shocked 8 months of the year are gone. There were so many other things on my want to get done this year list that aren't done!
