I received my THP a few days ago. I did find the time last night to try it out last night. Well here it is, these are my thoughts on the Misti vs THP. I like my Misti better for 3 reason. 1. It's less cumbersome. ( however I might like The larger platform over time when I need a larger surface). THP lid tended to want to come out while closing the lid to stamp. I wasn't pulling it straight up. 3. It was harder to use the grid to line up sentiments to make sure they were straight. The lid wasn't as clear as the misti. Im not anti Misti nor THP. I never got into the drama that was going on between these two companies. I just couldn't see why I needed to choose sides. I don't care about the behavior of MSP nor the popularity of the Tim Holtz empire. I will have a platform of some kind when one or the other breaks.

Interesting.....I've been using my TH for the past 3 days. I love it.
Cumbersome.....I never thought of it that way. It's sturdier than Misti. Lid.....I didn't have issues with the lid coming off at all. I've stamped both rubber and clear. I like that I can flip it. Lid....I think it is cleaner, crisp. The graph isn't done with black lines. Grid lines....that is tricky. One phrase I stamped went wonky. I took more time with the rest of them. Once I did that I was ok.

I say to each his own. It is interesting to have opposite views towards these 2 tools. I'm sure in time I will get use to THP with further use. I have to find space to store this platform. Gesss I have too much stuff in my scrap room as it is. I never thought I would be saying that. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would face the need to get rid of stuff to make room. I guess I'll have to get rid of those wooden stamps that was given to me but I have never used.

I guess I'll have to get rid of those wooden stamps that was given to me but I have never used. You can unmount them from the wood and use the TH platform with them now. Win/win. I have both the TH platform and the HA stamp press to compare. I agree both have their own niche. I can use the HA for smaller things like PL cards and handmade cards and it doesn't take up a ton of real estate in my room or on my desk. But the TH is sleeker, prettier and easier to use on my layouts. I find it to be much sturdier which is great because then I don't have to worry abut breaking the plastic like i do with the HA. I haven't lined up any sentiments yet but i can see the plastic grid being an issue. I will laminate one of those graph sheets like Jennifer McGuire or somebody showed, that seems to work well. Overall I love the TH platform and I am so grateful to be able to finally have it in my possession!!!

I'm looking forward to the TH being more sturdy. I have the stampaholic. I really like my stampaholic. Just scared I'm going to break the lid. This weekend hoping to do a comparison. I think both with serve their own purpose.

I like my Th better than my Misti because of the open sides and just because it gives me a reliable image even next to the bumpers. I have always used a grided transparency with my positioner so I continue to use that when I have a small wobbly sentiment. I hope Tonic decides to also make a smaller version as I like the lighter weight and portability of my mini Misti.

I only have the Tim Holtz stamp platform, so I can't compare, but I often create my own 12x12 background papers with stamps, so I really like the open sides.
I have swapped the lid back and forth from clear to rubber many times. It has come out accidentally once or twice, but it was my own error, not a fault in the design IMO.
I think it has a very slight (but extremely minimal) learning curve when compared to the MISTI, just based on comments I have read. That doesn't bother me. I have learned to use far more complex tools and software, so I can deal with it. I think it is still extremely easy to use.
I tend to be a "CPR" type of stamper (Tim Holtz's description, but right on target), so I probably would have cracked the lid if I'd bought a MISTI. I love the sturdiness of the Tonic version. I don't have to worry if I am putting on too much pressure. However, I am learning that I don't need to use a ton of pressure, and I get better results if I don't, at least with some stamps.
As you said, to each her own. We all have different needs/wants when it comes to our crafting and what we like. That's why I love competition. It results in multiple products and tools, and then the customer gets to decide which one to buy. I love having a choice.

I guess the lawsuit with TH has been resolved? Where are the peas buying his platform?

I guess the lawsuit with TH has been resolved? Where are the peas buying his platform? Yes it has. There are several places that have it, including my local craft store. I believe some peas bought it at Scrapbook.com I used mine for the first time today and it is wonderful. Stamped beautifully, definitely sturdier then my Misti. I love the magnetic base and the open sides for 12x12 paper. So glad to have it,

I guess the lawsuit with TH has been resolved? Where are the peas buying his platform? Enough of the legal issues appear to have been resolved that it is being sold in the U.S. I got mine at Scrapbook.com, and they had it delivered to me within 48 hours after I ordered it.

I got mine at Blitzy for under $36 with free shipping. They shipped quickly and I had it in a few days. I'm still waiting on the one I ordered from Marcos back on July 4... I also bought the sleeve.

I also ordered from Marco's and am still waiting to hear from them. I ordered that one near the end of June. I just hope it arrives before my scrapping buddy comes to visit. It would be nice to have one for each of us to use. I did not pre-order from Scrapbook.com but only after I realized the one from Marco's was going to take a long time to be shipped to me. Scrapbook.com had discounted the price of the platform to $32. The shipping was $10. I sounds like Blitzy was a little better deal.

Got my Tim Holtz platform from Marcos today. I ordered on July 4 so they must be getting close to the end of their pre-orders.

How big is Tim's platform?
I want it but I keep looking at it. I can't tell the size. I need a stamp press around notebook paper size. That would be perfect. That curved edge is going to be a booger for me to store correctly. Right now my two finalists are WRMK & Tonic.
I am a CPR stamper too so I don't want to crack my plate. That is a very good point about the MISTI that some of the plates cracked because a lot of us are CPR stampers.

I agree with Anniefb. I have the WRMK one and I feel that I have to be more gentle with it than the Tonic platform. I store my Tonic on the flat side (without the plastic piece).

That is a perfect size for me & will not be hard to store. I thought it was 12x12 for some reason. When I am over at Instagram and I see all the stamp presses they will look big in one picture, small in another picture. It is hard to gauge the size.
