We have received a TON of beautiful cards with the gifts sent to us this week for our new baby. Some of these cards are from special people and have special messages, other cards are just really pretty or fun or cute. I hate to just toss them and I know that if I plan to save them, they will just end up lots or worn out and stuffed in some drawer until I eventually toss them. My question- how would you incorporate these into your album? For the baby album I'm doing the 6x8 Project Life.

I punch holes in the card and put directly in my album.

I found some of the small PL pages (they are like 8 x 10) and just stick them all in there.

First of all: congratulations on your new baby! Wishing you all happy times together. It will really depend on how many cards you wish to keep and how bulky it'll get. I either use the BH archival material envelope pages (they're great quality) and put the envelope at the very back of the album so it doesn't cause any trouble with the weight of it pushing apart the page protectors when I take the album off the shelf and such. If it's just a few cards, I will look at how thick my album is: if it can give a bit of extra room, I'm with punching holes directly and putting in eyelets (just so the turning the pages in the album doesn't damage the greeting card cardstock in the long run). If my album's already thick and can't handle the extra eyelet dimension, I'll get some attacher stickers from my stash to add the card straight in there. ETA: French brand Kesi'Art does zippered 6x8 pocket pages but I doubt you'll find them easily outside of Europe, alas. They're a thicker plastic than usual page protectors but far cheaper than BH's envelope pages.

That's perfect- thank you!! Maybe some of the ones without a ton of writing that are just pretty will get cut down to 3x4 or 4x6 as filler cards and the really sentimental ones will be saved in the envelope.

At Christmas time, I made a LO with small square pockets and I cut squares from some cards to include, but in a case like this I think I would use an envelope page or two or else make a special pocket page myself to hold them.

When I did a Christmas card exchange with other scrappers, I got a lot of nice cards. I used the WRMK Fuse to help make pocket pages to fit the cards. I still ike to look back at the cards, and they are still holding up well in the pockets.

I do most of the above things already mentioned. Another thing I do, that I didn't see mentioned.... I'll sometimes cut down the card to fit a pocket and use it as a journaling card. I either write on the back of the entire card or I remove the seconde page (back) and write on what was the inside of the front cover. I then insert in a pocket or just punch holes and insert. I'll usually mention somewhere in my journaling who the card was from.

When I make gift albums for babies or weddings, I glue a clear plastic envelope with a Velcro or slip through fastener to the inside of the back cover. I think Cropper Hopper used to make them. Anyway, it gives the busy mom or bride a place to put their cards.

I always include my cards. Sometimes I make a pocket and sometimes I spread the card open and slide it into an 8.5x11 page protector. I cannot toss cards from special people.
I do still have all the cards we got when my sons were born and I haven't put them in a book yet.
