My old IPad bought it and I need a replacement. Any advice on regular vs. pro? How much memory? Any deals around? Thanks for your help.

I recently got a new iPad Pro and it is soooo thin and light. When I pick up my old one it feels like a brick. The only thing I don't like is that the new one thinks it knows what I want to type and it changes what I am typing all the time. It had just learned not to contradict me when I had to go to the Apple Store where they updated it and now it is again back to changing everything that I type. Other than that I love the new one and it is so fast.
ETA: I have an iPad 9.7 not a Pro. 🤦♀️

We are buying an ipad through this company www.iquerepair.com/locations/I don't know if you can buy online from them or not. We are buying an older one that is not light weight. We need one with substantial weight and a case for protection. They are providing a very nice one with the purchase of a used ipad.

I should have added that my first time I bought refurbished and would do that again in a heartbeat. Saved money and it is old and still going strong. I would have bought my new one refurbished but none were available.

I have an iPad air (bought at christmas 2014). My dd has an iPad2 (bought thanksgiving 2011). Hers (which was mine) is essentially bricked but she uses it for kids games and netflix so I don't care. Eventually we will upgrade mine and pass my current one to her. Right now, hers is in the shop getting the wifi antenna replaced. When it quit connecting to our router, I was looking at getting myself a new one. It would have been the iPad with the 128GB. I don't need the pro and it's quite expensive so I wasn't going to go that one. My dad bought himself a pro and LOVES it. He went up from in iPad2. I will say that whatever iPad you get, be sure to get a good drop proof case! We love the griffin survivor cases here. Both of our iPads live in them and they've been super protected from drops and spills and kids. I have a 6 year old and a 17 month old. The wifi issue on DD's is from being dropped before we got the case last summer.

I just bought -- like a hour ago -- the 2017 iPad (9.7) -- it is below the iPad Pro but WAY ahead of my old iPad 2. For us, the deal is this is "no sales tax weekend" - the deal for me was they gave me $100.00 for my old iPad! I'm heading to Amazon next for a keyboard and I am determined to learn to use this for more than a toy!

I have an Ipad pro 9.7 (one year old - 2016). I love it!! It replaced my Ipad 3 which was getting super clunky. Anyway, I haven't looked back, it's great.

That's what I keep saying. I use probably 1% of the capabilities...then I go back to surfing the Internet, shopping and Peaing. ETA don't know where my quote went, here it is: I am determined to learn to use this for more than a toy!

I have an original iPad mini. Love it but I need a new one with more space and well, just newer. Mine is only the 16 GB, so I'm looking at much more space. I've had my eye on the mini 4 with 128 GB. The size of it is perfect for my needs. Any thoughts on the mini ?

I have the smaller pro that I bought the weekend after thanksgiving last year. I love how lightweight and fast it is. I too had the best intentions of 'getting more out of it' but all I really do is surf the web and read with it, despite all the things I told myself to justify buying it lol. Check out apple online for refurbished items, I have bought from them before and wasn't disappointed!

I prefer the larger screen and it gives me more space to type on the keyboard. I HATE the tiny keyboards on the iphones and iPad minis. They are just too tiny.

Bought an IPad Air back in 2014 on a visit home to the States. I caught a special on Amazon. I bought the 32g one. I have had ZERO problems and it has basically replaced my laptop. I surf, stream my American TV ghows and do virtually all my school projects on it.
I completely agree in a strong protective case. Totally worth the money!

I have to look it up when I'm home on my iPad and I'll let you know. You can turn it off. I have two iPads -- a mini and a pro with a keyboard, but neither work with the pencil, which I'm dying to have for drawing digitally. I got the pro with keyboard only a few months before the pencil iPad came out and could kick myself for not waiting.

M looking to replace an ipad2. In my search today, everything I've looked at has wifi. Are they doing away with the ones that aren't wifi? I have a mini with wifi so, I really don't need a second one with wifi.

I have the "new" iPad. It is about half the price of the iPad Pro, and there weren't any features of the Pro that I just had to have. Some accessories only work for the Pro, but other brands make similar accessories.

Thanks. I didn't realize that as back when I got my ipad2 it was cheaper to get them without wifi access.

I think you are mixing up the cellular capabilities and wifi. iPads have always had wifi capabilities--that's how you access the internet. It's $100 more (plus a data plan) for the cellular capability, which allows internet access away from wifi, just like a cell phone.

Just saw that Costco has $40 off the 128 Gb model right now. Thanks. I'm going to check it out. Costco also has their free concierge service and they automatically extend the warranty for all electronics you buy there. Whenever we're in the market for anything electronic, we always check there first because of those two things. Not only are they typically competitively priced to begin with, but we have their Visa card and get the rebate from that and the rebate for having an executive membership. Two more reasons to buy the more expensive things there.
