Plus, we're old. We just realized this movie is now over 30 years old and we watched it as a hot movie date! Ha!
I say the best scene is the beach volleyball scene. I mean, shirtless hot guys, right?
He's trying to be sensitive male and say Goose and Maverick singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" in the bar was the best. Cute, but no. I mean, maybe before we all knew Tom Cruise was crazy, we might've fallen for that move.

That is a tough one!!
Shirtless guys playing volleyball = pretty hot!
Handsome Navy guys in their white uniforms = pretty hot!
Cant wait for Top Gun 2 to come out
ETA - I made a mistake! They weren't "Navy guys" they were Naval Aviators!!!

I saw Hot Shots before I saw Top Gun. The part where Goose dies? I started laughing hysterically and said that's Dead Meat Peat!   That's my favorite part. I couldn't take it seriously after seeing its spoof first. |

The dog fight where he flips the jet.
That movie was all about the jets for me. I find the rest of it tedious.

Volleyball scene hands down. There is a scene where Tom Cruise races away on his motorcycle that I also enjoy. Favorite line, "Negative Ghost rider, the pattern is full." My DDs have never seen it and yet they know that line, "Mom, Can I have? Negative, Ghost rider." While I laugh hysterically at my old person cleverness.  |

MY favorite scene is when they are walking down a hallway and they pass a bulletin board that says HAVE A BANDIT DAY! My brother-in-law was Commanding Officer of the squadron (The Bandits) where they filmed parts of the movie and my sister got to meet and talk to Tom Cruise (when he was still normal) when she ran into him in the parking lot.  |

We just saw this in the theaters last week. It was amazing how many people acted like they'd never seen it before. Everyone there was our age--people who grew up with it but were too young to see it in theaters. A couple guys came in flight suits. One came in short cutoff shorts like Goose  The audience sang along to "Highway to the Danger Zone," "You've Lost that Lovin Feelin," and "Great Balls of Fire," they laughed heartily at every funny moment, they cat-called and whistled during the volleyball scene, and they clapped when it was over. It was great fun to see it on the big screen. My favorite scene is actually Great Balls of Fire. But between your two choices? Volleyball. Always Volleyball. I once saw it on TV where they edited out the Volleyball  |

I don't remember the volleyball scene, shock, horror!! I do remember singing great balls of fire, I was 15 at the time, I might have to go and watch again to see if the volleyball scene leaves a bigger impression on me now! 😂
