Siri has given me these directions to Disneyland, along with a note that there are toll roads. However, it doesn't say which roads. I know that some highways are "Fast Pass." I don't have a pass. Are there cash/card pay options instead? Are there any of these highways that I can't go on if I don't have a Fast Pass? The alternate route says that it's an hour longer, but no tolls. Thank you!

None of those freeways are exclusive toll roads. The 91 has toll road lanes that use Fast Pass, so you'll be fine. However, westbound morning traffic is a nightmare any time after about 5:30am. It might be worth it to use the toll lanes if necessary. You can log in afterwards and pay the toll online if you don't have a Fast Pass transponder.
Have fun at Disneyland!

Do I have to do anything in advance to be prepared for this? Like set up an account or something?

You can check out the website for Orange County Toll Roads. Riverside County probably has a website too. It's all pretty clear. What time will you be driving in? You might not have to worry about it.

You might also want to compare the directions from Waze the day off. I was just there for a week and Siri tried to send me on I-5 a few times which was total gridlock. Waze re-routed me and saved us a ton of time.

Maybe the map app on your phone has the option to avoid tolls?

I've lived in So Cal all of my life and I've never been on/used a toll road. You don't need to worry about them. Traffic can be really bad early in the morning but if you just allow time you will be fine. If you are leaving Phoenix at 8:30 am traffic will be gone by the time you get here. It will be peaking about the time you leave AZ. ETA: Actually traffic is never really gone here but it gets a whole lot better after everyone is at work.

When it comes to traffic, Siri is a moron. The google maps app is way better at changing the route on the fly to avoid traffic. It does it automatically which I love. I drive to San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin pretty regularly and google does a great job. It even tells you how much time the recalculated route saves. Once it told me "two hours faster." Routed us off the interstate and down side roads around a fatal accident that tied up traffic for hours.
Anyway. Google maps is the best, true dat, double true.

I am not sure you can use fast track lanes without a fast track pass. We have a fast track lane down here and there is no option for paying after you use it. But our fast track lane is also a carpool lane, so OP you could use it in that instance. I know the toll roads allow you to pay afterwards.
ETA - none of those roads in your directions are toll roads. However part of the 91 has an express lane and you do need a transponder to use it. But at your travel time, traffic should be lessening.

Thanks. We're leaving Phoenix around 8:30am You should be fine with mid-day traffic by the time you hit the busy freeways. Watch for accidents and closures on your route. If traffic on the 91 is bad, you can stay on the 60 or the 10 all the way to the 57. KNX 1070 has traffic reports every 10 minutes, and Sigalert is a good traffic app. Can you tell I'm obsessed with avoiding traffic and finding the optimum route every time I leave the house? I haven't tried Waze because I have a detailed map in my head, but lots of people like it. Agreed that Google is far better than Apple maps, especially with traffic. You all must be getting excited!

Waze has a plan you route option. It will show you a graph of how long your drive will take depending on what time you leave. I found it very helpful for planning a road trip.

I'm not sure were there are any toll roads on that route. The 91 toll road starts in Corona and only goes to the 55. I would definitely use waze. I always use it to check the traffic going to Disneyland, although Waze does like to take the freeway over surface streets and in some places, I would rather take some surface streets.

I went back and looked, it would be toll from Corona to the 55 and depending on what time of day, you may not even need it. Plus it is mucho $$$. Personally, once I hit the 91, I would take it all the way to Harbor, turning left at Harbor to Lincoln, right on Lincoln to Manchester, then left. It will take you to Mickey and Friends parking structure. When you search the directions the next time, try Mickey and Friends parking structure or Toy story lot. 1313 Harbor is actually Disneyland but you can't park there. Hope this helps. Its about a 6 hour drive from AZ? so you should miss most traffic on the 91.

Thanks! I used the 91 Expressway but I don't see where to pay it. The website above lists the other freeways, but not the 91.

Thanks! I used the 91 Expressway but I don't see where to pay it. The website above lists the other freeways, but not the 91. I am pretty sure you need a Fast Track account/transponder to use the 91 Expressway. This is a clip from the 91 FAQ. "I received a violation on the 91 Express Lanes, but there was no place to stop to pay tolls. Am I liable for this violation? There are no toll booths on the 91 Express Lanes. Tolls are paid automatically through the use of FasTrak® transponders. Each vehicle using the 91 Express Lanes is required to have a valid FasTrak® account with the 91 Express Lanes or another FasTrak® toll facility, and to have their transponder properly mounted in their vehicle while traveling on the 91 Express Lanes. Using the Express Lanes without a transponder is a violation of the California Vehicle Code. If you open an account within 15 days from the Notice Mailing Date, we will apply the $25 non-refundable penalty to your pre-paid toll balance for future toll use."

Oh gosh, I hope I didn't lead you astray! I thought the toll roads were all part of the same fast track, since they are connected right there in Anaheim Hills. How annoying. I hope you get it straightened out!

Thanks! I'm sure it will work out! It was worth it to miss the traffic we avoided so even if I pay a violation, it's okay! I really appreciate your help!

Thanks all. We used Waze and the Express Lane. Now I just have to figure out how to pay it when we get home! Thanks all! Make sure you pay the toll within 5 days if you are using the ExpressAccount. Either way here is more info. You can also call them and talk to someone that might be able to help you as well. (949) 727-4800 www.thetollroads.com/accounts/expressaccountSaveSaveSaveSave
