Stomp on a person's head. I am aghast. I asked if the person was fighting the officer or had a gun or other weapon and she said no. The person was walking in the street and was a trans. I believe he/she (don't know) refused to get back on the sidewalk and that was the reason for being stomped on the head.
If this is all true (and she says someone got it on tape), what is the world coming to? Why is that EVER okay? She says it was happening with a few cops and a few trans. It makes me sick.
First Charlottesville, now this. What is wrong?

No one deserves to have their head stomped on. How old is your daughter? If I was there I would have tried recording the incident so it could be used as evidence for police brutality. What a great world we live in now.

How horrible. The police person who did this obviously has no idea what it must take for someone to decide their only happiness is in transitioning to the gender their heart tells them they are.

First Charlottesville, now this. What is wrong? Obviously no one deserves to be mistreated because of sexual or gender orientation, however there is clearly a lot missing from this story. How does anyone get from not getting back on a sidewalk to getting stomped on the head? I am assuming they had to be on the ground, how did they get there? Did the cop go up and toss them to the ground because they wouldn't get back? I refuse to make a judgement on this particular incident without more information. Obviously the events in Charlottesville are reprehensible, I do agree with you there.

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

This is awful. A clear indicator that I need to sign off for the night I can't even look at the Charlottesville thread.

Yeah, I'm holding off judgement until I know more too. Seems odd that a witness could know so much while knowing so little at the same time.

He made a statement about it, but blamed "many sides". "We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides." WTF!!! No, the problem is on ONE side - the white supremists.

I don't know anything more than what my daughter said to me. She is 20yo and she was walking on the sidewalk. I did tell her not to get off! She'll call me later today and maybe tell me some more information, but she was pretty insistent (via text) that the person had done nothing and it had happened to more than one person. I don't see anything in the Chicago papers so I really know nothing. But I do wonder how much gets swept under the carpet because the people being stomped upon were trans?

Maybe we don't know the whole story, but we do know we have a POTUS who encourages police to rough up suspects, and has declared transgender people to be less then, a burden, a bother, and is doing the military "a favor" by kicking them out. Leadership (or a lack there of) matters, as the hate and violence on full display in Charlottesville shows how emboldened hateful elements in this country have further become.
