the following is a post I have on theanimalrescuesite.com I post to every day, a couple of peas and I chat at times on it and they knew I was going to the Stampaway Convention this past week end in Cincinnati Ohio and this is what I wrote to PascoePea and elannah. thought some of you might want to read it as well...
Well we got to Cincinnati just fine Friday, my class was at 2:30 til 4:30...Art Impressions with Bonnie the owner...it was a fast pace class and I am a slow kind of person...into the second card I got a leg cramp in back of the leg where I have never had one before...I stood up a few times trying to get it to stop...didn't happen and it got worse enough for me even to tear up...grrr...I went and stood right at the side of room by the wall and Bonnie's husband and her assistant came over to help. he got my chair had me sit down while he grabbed the foot and did his magic and the lady went and got me water to drink, a couple of glasses...for dehydration...I do take water pills as well...I have never had one hurt as much as this one did...they are so nice...I missed some of the class techniques but still got back to the table to do a couple more...such learning there...and I am so grateful for their help...we also got a stamp set that is not sold on their site for taking the class a wheelbarrow and other little stamps in the pack...not like the one she has on line
Chris and I went to Crackerbarrel and ate dinner...back at room for an hour then at 6:30 went to the pre view party at the Convention center...it is a limit to 500 I think it is for going into early Friday night and being able to purchase items...less crowded that way...unfortunately I was not feeling so great, have anxiety issues as well and after what happened in class I think it carried over to that night...we stayed for a couple of hours and I did purchase a few stamps of Penny Blacks line ...I like the new ones just out for fall and winter.
We stayed at the LivInn Motel right next door, that is nice...slept pretty good too. They have a buffet breakfast and it was not bad I did drink 2 glasses of cranberry juice and orange juice to get liquids down me...made certain I drank plenty of water as well...we got over to the Convention just after nine and I went right to the Stampers Anonymous booth and to the table where Tim was...there was a front row of chairs no one at the time was sitting in any of them they were pulled into the table...guess who pulled one out and sat right in front of Tim Holtz.....I sat there for """ 2 """ hours...just watching him do his magic...I also got a tag he had done and he signed it for me...such a nice person...
I got some stamps from him , texture paste, I have all his new oxide inks and refills for them but my big purchase was the Stella clip on table light...I bought the table one a couple years ago and the lighting is so much better then the Ott lights, it called out to me ...really it did...I heard it loud and clear... ...I have Tim's platform but I ordered that from the UK so it is the original one...and I forgot that I had pre ordered one from Marco's paper and it came last week...now this ol' lady has two of them...Also got stencils from the Tim line as well...and I did not think to look what I picked up so ended up with 2 of the same on a stencil......I do that from time to time...there were plenty of vendors there and I lot of people in there by this time...oh and for Tim's platform I also got a cover for it that is made just for the platform...I know some on a thread in our stamping forum say they are having trouble with the USA version but I sat right in front of him and he was using the new USA one and didn't have any problems with it. I thought about asking on it for the peas but did not think it would be right to say anything on it with so many around so I didn't get a chance to ask on it.
Art Impressions I got stamps, watercolor paper and got Bonnie's pens she likes the best set...I like the water color look...
We also looked at saying stamps and hubby even looks for me so got a few of them from another vendor. Also bought some ready made tags to stamp on...
I have a studio of all kinds of products so I was really going just to take the class and see Tim.
We left just after noon and even at that I was already worn out...the back of the leg still bothered me but by Sunday it was finally not having that tight feeling...we had a good time and after we left there , headed to a couple of woodworking stores for hubby to drool in... the tools he would LIKE to have are in the few thousand dollar range...., he will retire this coming January so I wish he had all the tools he would like and a building ....his kind of man cave ...so he will not be underfoot in my woman cave......
Ladies that is about it that is how the week end went...hope I didn't bore you to much here...hugs...hope you still talk to me after all that...lol
