I finally jumped in and bought one after reading how much everyone loved them. I was hesitant because of the cost. I also have another tape glider that jammed after just a few uses and has been useless ever since. I was tired of going through runners so quickly.
Last week someone posted on Facebook about Amazon selling the glider with two rolls of tape for just under $15. I jumped on that deal. It came and they only sent 2 packages of tape with 2 tapes per package. I contacted Amazon and we decided a refund was best, but they told me to keep or do whatever with the tape. I ended up going to Michaels on saturday and getting one for half off.
Thanks everyone for the reviews over time. I used it yesterday and really liked it.

I love my ATG. It takes a little time to get use to but then you don't know how you lived without it! I love that I am not constantly running out of adhesive. Have fun with your new toy!

I love my ATG! Not only do I never run out of tape (I ordered by the LOTS!) but I also never lose it on my scrapbooking desk under the mounds of scraps. It does take a little bit of a learning curve because it will feel huge at first, but soon it will become part of your hand.

That's plunge I haven't taken yet. I have something similar (Glue Glider?) that I like pretty well, although it does run out of tape fairly quickly.

That is what I had that jammed after just a couple of uses. I still have it floating around. I guess it isn't so much jammed as the tape won't come out. I changed the cartridge, but it still didn't work.

I spray painted mine lilac and added my name in rhinestones. My favorite tool!

Congrats on your new purchase!! hopefully you will quickly come to LOVE it!
I waffled for a long time about how *big and clunky* it was, and whether I could justify the expense. It has more than paid for itself in my opinion in ease of use versus photo splits (now that I know how to re-load it without having to watch a YouTube video every time, lol) and how good the adhesive sticks over the long-term.
I started out watching videos where people put ATG adhesive on each and every inch, of every edge, of every piece of paper they used on a project, and I thought "wow, that's expensive!" But I quickly realized that you don't really have to use that much; I probably only use two to three pieces, 1/4 - 1/2 inch long, on any given piece of paper, and it holds just fine, especially considering the pages are going inside a page protector. And, a la Shimelle, I put my adhesive in an inch or two from the edge, so I can still tuck things underneath. It does stick really well, eventually, but initially I only set it down lightly, so I can still lift the pieces up and shift them if I need to. (and I typically move my papers, at least once, the second I set them down, lol.)
And even though it's large, and pink, I can STILL lose it on my desk, lol!!

I think I went through SIX Tombow Mono dot adhesive refills making cards this weekend, which is a bit ridiculous. I made a lot of cards, but still.
I might also have to give in and get a giant pink gun...

I hope you enjoy your new tool. I tried it for awhile, loved how inexpensive the refills were, but I am left handed and it was really awkward to use. Not horrible but enough of a pain to make it not the thing I reached for.....ahhh first world problems!!! LOL!

I was really slow to board the ATG train, but I just love it now. Enjoy!

I love mine for all the reasons mentioned above - the refills last a long time and are inexpensive. Although, I do manage to "lose" in the mess on my table on occasion. ha! Enjoy it!

Yay! Another one came over to the dark side! I love my ATG. I haven't bought any other glue since I got it about 7 years ago.

I'm happy to see your post. I'd love to hear any tips on how to use them.
I just got two of them this weekend along with the masking tape dispenser. I bought them at an auction for a total of $3.19.

one of my best tips (at least for me, lol) is: watch a youtube video on how to load and re-load it! There's a diagram on it, but still... for the first 6 months or so, every time I had to re-load the tape, I couldn't remember how to wind it around the rollers without watching a video.
another of my tricks: don't press the tape down at first; just set the piece of paper down lightly-- if you do that, it's not too difficult to lift it up again if you need to adjust it slightly.

I've been using my gun for about 8 years and nothing has ever fallen off of any of my pages. Totally worth it!

I thought it felt pretty good in either hand.

I always remember to make sure the tape makes the shape of a nine (9) and not a (P) -direction of the tape before I put it on the holder, and that the tape should always be sticky side down(and to the right). I have had mine since they only made the red ones years ago.

I use Tombow runners but have thought about an ATG since everyone seems to like them. I do have a question. Tombow glue doesn't dry instantly so you can move items if you need to fix them a little. Can you do this with ATG tape or is it super sticky?

I've enjoyed mine! I'm sure this is me, but it took me FOREVER to remember how to load that thing. There's tutorials on youtube.

They refunded me and told me if I still wanted it to reorder and select 1 day shipping, and they would refund me the 1 day shipping as well. Looks like they pulled that seller who was selling it for $15.

I have seen the ATGs for $39.99 with a 50% and then sometimes around Black Friday I have seen a 60% off coupon. I think $19.99 for the tape (2 rolls) and the gun is a pretty good buy considering how fast you can use up other rolls.
