OMG. Thank heavens this was good news about her. I was panicking that something might have happened (tragic) to her. She has received much positive coverage here. No one is more deserving of being given every opportunity to further her education. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/love.jpg.gif)

Sorry elaine didn't mean to scare you, the title box is just not long enough. No problem! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/TKS2q_7siLiFtq0xPQvx.jpg) I think that given the past week we've had in the USA, I automatically jump to the negative with news stories. That is my/our issue, not yours.

I read that earlier, she's such an inspiration. There are many that could and should take a leaf out of her book.

Congrats to Malala. This is wonderful to news.
The Taliban tried to silence her, by attempted murder. She not only survived, but you gave her a huge spotlight and she is basking and glowing in this light. The Taliban preparetrators are virtually unknown, but Malala is a household name. She's an inspiration to us all the unfortunate and the fortunate.

This is great news- she is such an inspiring role model for young women.
This week we were reading a text about Wangari Maathai, the first African women to be awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 2004 and how she was so passionate about changing life for women and "the girl child".
This led to talk about Malala and this week we will be speaking/reading about her. We have the novel "I am Malala" and a beautiful picture book called "Every day is Malala day" which explains her story very well to younger children. None of the students in my group had heard of her and were very interested in reading more about her story, so it will be timely to make another positive connection to her place in the world right now.
