Those twins are super annoying and I bet they will keep them on forever just for the drama.

The twins are super annoying--pretentious, overly dramatic, full of themselves, and not good team players. Honestly, I feel like everything about them is contrived, even their image and aesthetic. I can just hear them deciding:
Shawn: I'm going to be the edgy one. I'll shave my head to show how cool and cutting edge I am. My clothes will be edgy, rocker stuff. Claire: I'm going to be the girly one. I'll wear my hair really long. I'll design feminine clothes for pop princesses.
As far as the challenge goes, I thought Ballin' on a Budget would win, but I also really loved the safe group's collection. Team Tsunami, with their sea glass trash bags was the clear loser. I loved Heidi's expression when Sentels trash bag dress went down the runway. It was just awful! And that belt! It looked like a poorly made grade school art project. I will say that Samantha had a really nice garment. The braided top was very cool. I really like her a lot too. She's one of my favorites.
The winning team really had a beautiful collection. Oddly enough, the only piece I didn't like was the winning look. I actually lol when it went down the runway. I thought it looked cheap and costumey. I thought Kenya or Batani should have won. Why do you think Brandon was crying at the end--because he didn't win? I know he felt the textile he created was the glue for the team.
Oh, and how about that ugly cry Claire did when she realized Shawn was safe. Yikes!
Lastly, I told my son and his bf, who watched with me and LOVED the winning look, that Sentell was going home as soon as they showed him talking to his dh. I wish they wouldn't be so obvious all the time. I really like him but was disappointed what a sore loser he was when he started trashing the winning collection in the waiting room.

I'm borderline thinking that the results are "fake" in that, they have designers already picked out to stay and some they are ready to let go, before the competition even begins. Although I agree that the losing look was horrible, I knew he would be the one leaving as soon as they showed him talking to his partner via Skype. I did not think that the winning look was as great as they made it out to be. It was alright, no more. In my opinion, team "Ballin' on a Budget" should have came in second, and team "Waba-Sabi" should have won. Their collection was beautiful. Those looks could have stepped off the runway directly onto the street and no one would have known it was made of recyclable materials. I agree that they are keeping the twins for drama. I hate to think that my favorite competition show is scripted

Ugh...I still think Sentell should have been safe over Shawn. He made her entire top and Amy and Sam made her skirt! It's pathetic. Yes his look was awful, but he spent more time coddling Shawn. I would have let her sink.
I'm sure the cheating 'scandal' for lack of better word, involves the twins. They are so over the top fake it's nauseating. I'm glad Anna and the guest judge called her out on curvy girl. That model was normal sized!
I actually liked the winning team. But thought Kenya should have won. The second place team was just as good. I loved Deyonte's outfit.

Do you ever notice Zach Posen always touches one of the models boobs when they take a closer look? He touched the model wearing sam's braided too. I noticed it last season too.

Well, he is gay, so I don't think he means too. plus I think models and designers are sort of used to that, Looking at fit and fabric. Not actually trying to grab them.

I thought team Wabi Sabi had the best collection. It was most cohesive and best constructed. They should have been the winning team.
I think Sentell deserved to go home, the skirt really did look like a trash bag wrapped around her legs. I was a little surprised he was okay with sending it down the runway. That said, I would have preferred that Shawn had been sent home. Her second time on the bottom and she didn't actually design anything. But I also know they are going to keep the twins for a long as possible. If Tim uses his save for one of them I am going to be very disappointed.
As for the winner, eh, I'm not invested enough in any of the designers yet to care. But I wouldn't have chosen that one from that group probably.

I can't believe they're still doing the obvious thing where the designer that skypes with their loved one goes home. After that plus seeing the trash bag dress I knew who it would be.
Those twins' ridiculous facial expressions are so annoying.

By that, I mean I do not think your assessment is not correct. Nay, perhaps never not incorrect. Indeed, indeed.

I thought the judges were right on. While I think they pick people for dramatic effect to be contestants, I don't think they choose winners and losers based on it. He judges don't see any of the workroom, any of the drama behind the scenes.
While I also am not a fan of the Twins, I'm glad she didn't get sent home. It just wasn't the worst dress. She was a hot mess in the challenge, but she did have more design to her dress, no matter who helped her or how it was pulled together.
I love that the judges lectured on body shape. These designers all have a holier-than-thou attitude every season.

I was surprised that the judges didn't get on the designers who used fabric-like material (paper, plastic bags) like fabric. I don't know if it was the lack of other types of materials but the designs didn't seem as out of the box creative as they have been in the past.

Stop picking on Shawn. Unlike all these other contestants, she is CREATIVE. CREATIVE people can't be expected to work under artificial constraints like designing for CURVY people. How is she expected to cut fabric along a CURVED line? It just wasn't fair to throw that extra challenge to her. Her design would have been amazing, the best, the winner if only she had the skinniest mannequin. I hope all the designers got the message loud & clear that they have to take care of themselves first before putting time into working on someone else's design. And no more complaining about fat, curvy or large models. If they haven't figured out yet that this season is about embracing all sizes, they need to go. I'm good with the judge's choices this week. jackie, I think Brandon is emotional and lacking self-confidence and I took his crying to be relief that the team won and the judges and team recognized his contributions (think Sally Field winning an Oscar "you really like me" speech). I don't get an ego vibe coming off him, so didn't think they were tears of frustration at not winning. IMHO, his fabric was a good contribution to the team, but I didn't love his outfit.

I agree Brandon has very little self confidence at this point. BUT he should. He listens to others and takes in what they say, then creates within his style to satisfy the input. HIs outfit was somewhat similar to the one he did last week so he needs to watch out. But I like Brandon, i like that he is out of the box, and i like that he is respectful to the models and the others. There are several designers that I like this year because they have good attitudes. The loosing team had only one designer on it that I like so i didn't really care who went home. I'd have been ok if the other bottom person went home.

Somebody needs to hide the twins' lipstick. That lipstick was outright AGGRESSIVE. Those two seem far more concerned with their appearance on TV and making a name for themselves as personalities than about designing. That said, Sentell, though I liked him, had the worst look. For real. That whole team's was bad, but his was the worst. I can't stand those twins.

Just caught up on two weeks.
Do you wonder if the twins know how horribly they come across?
And Batani's dress must have looked much more beautiful up close because we all, huddled on my bed, couldn't understand the appeal.
ETA: I mean Ayana's dress. Didn't get it.

I do like Brandon. He really doesn't have an ego. I will say I think he deserved the win for creating the textile that led to such a solid collection. They used it in his colors and then with the white and clear. It really worked well.
I will also say that I preferred Wabi Sabi. Someone had that dress with the soda plastic rings down the entire skirt..... I thought it was beautiful. The colors were stylish and the looks fresh. Ballin on a budget.... not as much. I thought of Pocahontas for the winning look!
Twins...... just overkill! They need to go away. Far far away!
