I'm not mayonnaise-picky - I buy whichever regular or light (NEVER fat-free) is cheapest.
Miracle Whip is NOT mayonnaise and is nasty stuff
not a ranch fan either

I make my own and spice it up when it needs spicing. For example, I added Chipotle seasoning when I want dip for my sweet potato fries. Here's the recipe, it takes 1 minute and it's delicious. I add garlic and onion seasoning for everyday use. Homemade Mayo

Miracle whip. I don't care if it's "not mayo". Where I'm from, it's mayo. ITA

Duke's. But if Hellman's or Kraft is all that's available, I can deal.

Best Foods. I prefer to make my own ranch using a HVR packet and adding my own milk (lactose free) and mayo (Best Foods!)

Best Foods growing up in California. As a teen we moved to NC and started using Dukes. In the Midwest now and buy Hellman's.

ha ha DH and i were just talking about this last night. it's Best Foods or nothing for us. i think i'm more willing to maybe try Hellmans but he won't budge on Best Foods. They are the same thing-Hellmans to the east, Best Foods to the west. Just like Edys ice cream is Dreyers to the west. Wow! Never knew that! Good to know.

My co-worker told be that when he worked at subway a long time ago they had something called "extra heavy mayo" and he'd always cringe internally when people would ask for extra mayo on their subs because he knew it sounded really bad for you. Seems like restaurant mayo may be different than store bought. We get Subway every Wednesday night. I have hubby get mine without Mayo then I put my own Dukes on it when he brings my sandwich home. I know their stuff has to be bad plus I prefer my Dukes!

I am not as picky about my mayo as I used to be - I used to only get Kraft Mayo but now I will get Kraft, Hellman's (aka: Best Foods) or Duke's, whichever one is on sale. I have gotten to where I mostly prefer Duke's and luckily, it is usually the less expensive.
As far as ranch dressing, I think a lot of restaurants (especially non-chain restaurants) make their own salad dressing, which is probably why it taste different than it does at home.

I grew up on Miracle Whip... then I tasted real mayo. Fresh homemade.. and now it is that or Duke's.
Same for Ranch dressing. NEVER bottled. I would rather go without.
