What I just witnessed just did me in... There was a man fueling up his boat at the Exxon (I think it's a Chevron???) at Broad and Canal (NOLA)...couple people asked the guy where he was going with that boat...I'm going to Houston with the Cajun Navy. Random people, total strangers, throwing all the cash they had at him, offered to fill up his truck, fill up the boat tanks, buy him food, one guy asked if he wanted beer (LOL)... this ya'll...this is us. Not all the other bullcrap you see on the news and social media. Don't ever let anyone kill the giving spirit of the people of South LA. We are forever grateful for all the help we received and will forever pay it forward.

Having spent a good portion of my life in S. LA, yep. As a general rule, wonderful people.

The Cajun Navy has been helping hundreds here. We're very grateful to them and all the people of Louisiana who have assisted us.

When things are bad, many people do band together for the greater good. My thoughts & prayers for those people who are in this horrible situation.

I'm feeling guilty for feeling so bad about the animals that are dying, because I know that people are the first priority in rescue operations. But I feel bad anyway for those poor little babies, and grateful to all the brave souls who are helping.

I'm so sad to see the suffering happening in Texas right now, but it has been a bit of balm to my soul to see the way people are coming together to provide aid and save lives.

That is a great "good news" story.

I know that makes other people mad, but it's amazing what people do here in catastrophes. It is truly one incredible giving feat after another.

I think it was the weather channel yesterday showing all the different boats coming into the greater Houston area from Louisiana and the rest of Texas after there was a call for help. I hate that it takes a natural disaster, but am glad to see people coming together to help one another.

My daughter is downstairs right now cutting up fabric to make quilt tops. A local quilt store will donating backing, backing fabric and time on their long arm machines to quilt.

Who gets mad about the community pulling together? Honestly, it is not an American thing, it is a human nature thing. Maybe you need to go watch Dunkirk if it is still playing in theaters. Sorry for the hijack. SaveSave
