I need a great Chicken Tikka Masala recipe.
I used to have a great one that used a can of coconut milk and a tin of tomatoes. But I can't find it.
All the ones I look at online are using some type of cream.
Do you have a recipe you love?
We had some when we were in London and DD loved it. I don't think I have made it for her since she was a little girl. So I thought I would surprise her.

Here's one - link
and one more - link
You could substitute coconut milk for the yogurt. I must be honest I haven't tried these though as I rarely cook Tikka Masala.

I am not from the UK, but use this recipe, which seems to be UK-style based on the description (curry stands and pubs are not typical US terminology). I have to say, it's delicious. The recipe calls for heavy cream but I've always subbed an equal amount of coconut milk. I also speed up the recipe by browning the chicken in the skillet and then cooking the sauce around it in the same pan. Ah-maz-ing.

I've been making Pastor Ryan's recipe from the Pioneer Woman website for years. My family loves it! There's also a recipe for homemade naan linked to it. Amazing! It calls for cream though..not coconut milk.

I've never eaten or made a tikka masala that has coconut milk in it. I'm sure it would be delicious, but it's a bit odd. Maybe I'll try it next time - just use coconut milk (or even better - coconut cream) instead of the cream. God knows I've got enough coconut milk and cream in my pantry!
ETA: I'm at work so I can't share my recipe here at the moment.

God knows I've got enough coconut milk and cream in my pantry! what do you use it for? i've never cooked with it Sorry for the delay in replying ginacivey , I wasn't logged on yesterday afternoon. I make a lot of Thai food which is why I always have at least 4 – 6 cans of coconut milk and/or cream in my pantry. A lot of the dishes I make use 2 x 400ml cans. The main type of dish that I make is either a red or green or yellow curry, usually with chicken, pumpkin, beans, capsicum, broccoli or whatever is in the fridge. They're quick and easy. Some of my other favorite recipes are on regular rotation at my house: Chicken Penang Curry Beef Massaman Peanut Dipping Sauce - this one is always a big hit when I make it, everyone asks for the recipe. I serve it with chicken or roti bread or ‘money bags’. Chilli Pork Sauce – I don’t know why this one is called a sauce, it is more like a Thai larb and is just divine. I usually make a quadruple batch! Chicken and Cashew Massaman CurryThai Chicken Risotto (this is a baked risotto, really easy) Salmon with Thai Green Risotto This one is not baked so it's a bit more complicated / time consuming. It's one of my all time favorite meals. I sometimes use chicken thigh fillets instead of salmon. Chicken & Pumpkin Laksa Coconut Satay Chicken Noodle BowlCurried Sweet Potato SoupAnd when I opened the website to get the recipe links above, the very first recipe to pop up was this Thai Coconut Chicken Stir Fry which looks nice. I’m going to make it next week.

I am probably too late to help you now but I have made the Jamie Oliver recipe and it is divine! Totally recomment it. Meg - coconut milk primarily used for Pina Coladas in my house
