Potential Newbie here.
I currently use google calendars. My hubby and kids use google calendars. None of them want to switch as it's integrated into their work lives.
Is Cozi still a good choice for me? Do I switch completely or sync with google calendars?
Once I get past whether or not I should use it, then if I do I will have a million questions.
First one would be, can you set up a task for a day and time?

We use Cozi. I'm still trying to train my kids (including the 53 year-old ) to add their scheduled stuff to it, and to use it when they need to know if I'll be around and available if they need me for something. I've found the calendar pretty user friendly though The biggest thing we use it for is the shopping lists. The kids have learned to add anything they might need to the different store categories I've made up, so I can refer to it when I'm out shopping. That has made it worth it for us. I can't answer your other questions because I didn't use Google calendars before, and I don't use it for tasks .

If the rest of your family will continue using Google calendars, I'd probably just use that one or you lose the benefit of a shared calendar and yours will always have to be updated if you want their stuff to show on it (too much work IMO). If you don't care about their stuff showing up on your calendar, I like Cozi. I don't have the premium account so I can't see a month at a time, but I like the weekly email reminder and that I can color code everyone.

android/pc user here, but yea, weekly view only on the free version for phones, but you still get the whole month on the computer version. i know you can sync google calendar but i'm honestly not sure how to do it bc we just switched completely due to my work having our google calendar locked down so that i couldn't share it. i needed everyone's work schedules etc in the same place.
we also use the hell out of the shopping list, no more leaving the list on the fridge when i go to the store! and i have an ongoing "to do" list that my kids look at when i tell them to find something to work on. i have one list that's user names and passwords so they can access them (and so my addled brain can remember!) for cable, paying electric bill, amazon account etc.

We use the Apple calendar on our phones. I love having a shared calendar - it's not so important which calendar, but it's VERY important that it's shared. It's so easy to coordinate the kids' appointments. And at the beginning of the school year, when there are events for parents/teachers/students several times a week, its crucial to know who is going to be home when!

I second (or third, or fourth) the use of COZI for shopping lists. Everyone in our family has the free version on their phones and they add stuff to the shopping list as we run out. I also created lists for special stuff for me like "craft crap", "stuff for the RV" or "vacation" for non-urgent items so I can pick them up as I see them on sale.
We still use google calendars for the family and business. It just works good, so I'm not gonna mess with it. :-)
Best wishes!

Thanks.
I love how easy it is for me to add stuff but I need to work with the family so I think I'm going to keep going with google calendars
