I can be prudish, but the piece of art you've described, wouldn't bother me at all. I'd put it on an easel on a table I have in my bedroom reading nook.
I'd never hang an original artwork in a bathroom. I would be afraid the humidity would damage it over time.
Regardless of the theme, if I didn't love the artwork, I wouldn't keep it. I'd pass it on to someone who will love and appreciate it. I really think you should love the artwork hanging on your walls. In my opinion you shouldn't hang onto a painting just because it was a gift or it was inherited. The art should be appreciated by whoever is displaying it in their home.

Extrapolation of emotions and feelings is so rampant on this board so I'm just wishing to clarify my position. So you're sucking all the fun out of the thread?

Do you have flat surfaces you can put her on an easel or in a table frame? Put her next to a tallish pillar candle holder, have a candle that complements the colors in the painting, and then have some vines wrapped around everything. You can move the vines to screen out the naked parts if you want, or even frame them more. If your pastor comes over, you can make them so they hide her naked glory!

I went to nude figure sketching monthly in Manhattan for a couple of years. My sketches were pedestrian compared to the masterpieces people in the room produced. It's so hard to draw the human body in correct perspective. None of my sketches are hanging in my house. But if I had a good one, I would hang it. I have a nude sculpture from marble that my mom brought back from Italy in my living room. No one (including my grandsons) have ever asked about her being nude. However, when the day comes I'm going to suggest they can make her some clothes if her state of undress bothers them!

My great aunt's husband had a set of lamps with beautiful cherubs, nude cherubs. After her husband , She flicked their little penises off.
I am sure those lamps were actually ceramic pieces of art and she ruined them.

My dad had this HUGE velvet nude lady in my parents bedroom. My mother hated it. After dad died I said we could take it down for her if she wanted. My mom got all offended and said it has to stay!!! "Mom, you don't like it!"
"Yes, but your Dad did"

It's art, not a XXX movie. Hang it where it has value to you. When you look at a painting it should touch you emotionally. You live there and need to place it so that you can enjoy it. It wouldn't occur to me to leave someone's house, because I didn't like their art.
