I bought some expensive (for me) Munro boots at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale 2016 and the tips quickly got shiny. They look terrible now and I can't find anything on the web that works for getting the tips looking good. They are black. Any ideas?

I also think it can be done with seam, but I do NOT know how to do it.
