I've searched but haven't seen anything written about this here. Where is the outrage? ETA...Nancy Pelosi actually denounced them. About the only time I ever anticipate saying "Yea, Nancy".

Well I will pony up and say that I am very much against protests that end in violence, no matter who starts the violence...and will state that on any thread that is started about violent protest. I will say that this week I have been more intent on all the horrific information and stories from Harvey and trying to determine whether anyone is really looking for civil discourse, so I have not been as good about keeping up with other breaking news. Shame on me, but I obviously can't juggle multiple balls at one time.  Thanks for the link, I did read the article. |

That's awful. Violence is never the way to try to get your point across or to express your anger or fear. I hope for a quick recovery for those injured and am incredibly grateful that there were no deaths this time.  |

There is no justification for what the Anarchists did. Violence, not in self-defense, is deplorable, no matter who does it. I'm glad Pelosi denounced it. Berkeley is a powder keg.

I have a real problem with the majority of the mainstream media not bringing this to the country's attention. Had it been neo-Conservatives beating a black man or a liberal, the media would have been all over it. The Washington Post had an article about this the other day. I was surprised to see them actually call out Antifa by name and shocked when Pelosi denounced them. |

I would have liked to have read more in the article about exactly what happened, rather than focusing on how the Democrats didn't say anything. That makes the article slanted, rather than reportage. Anyway, I hope they arrested those fools for their disgusting behavior. Did they?

After all this was just another protest and as we can see Harvey was and tragically still is a big story. I mean trump released the news about his giving a pardon to that fool Friday because of the high ratings because of the hurricane. I live in the Bay Area and there was plenty of coverage both Saturday and Sunday about the various protests and plenty of comments from the various leaders. Arkema Plant is a chemical plant in Crosby, TX. The chemicals they use require refrigeration. The plant lost power but a skeleton crew were there keeping generators going to keep the chemicals refrigerated until the plant was flooded and the crew had to leave. Before they left they put the chemicals in some refrigerated units that are now offline. When the chemicals are not refrigerated they could explode. For whatever reason they can't move them so anticipating an explosion there is an evacuation order for a radius of 1 1/2 miles from the plant. There are potentially other situations like this because of the hurricane and rains. So right now what is happening in Texas is what has grabbed the attention of the American Peiple and rightly so. So sorry I really don't see a big conspiracy by the so called left leaning mainstream media in hiding what happened in the Bay Area this past weekend. |

According to many here today, nobody should be focusing on anything but the hurricane. Seems that is what the news is doing. I don't think that Antifa equals Democrats. Heck, I had never heard of them until about a month ago. And, shouldn't there be some republicans against fascism also? Or are they all ok with that now? However, Trump voters did vote for Trump and his ideals, which makes this a slightly different situation. |

Fox, npr, latimes sfgate, Washington post to name just a few. I would hope that whichever side one is on that they denounce violence by anyone, be it from the right or left. |

I don't condone violence of any sort.
Like many, my attention was on Houston and gulf coast Texas this weekend so I definitely missed a few stories. Apparently so did my Representative. I've sent an email to my Darrell Issa (R) asking why he hasn't made a statement.
Especially since he's asked the House Judiciary Committee to hold a hearing at the full committee level to examine the recent displays on white nationalism and their impact on civil rights in America. Seems like he would have been paying attention.

The media has reported it. It isn't the dominating story on the airwaves because there is a flood of biblical proportions happening right now but it has been reported.
Antifa and Patriot Prayer are two sides of the same coin. I personally know the leader of Patriot Prayer group. He claims to stand for 'unity and love' but it was one of the members of his group who stabbed three men on the Max Train when they defended a couple of young Muslim women. Two of the men died. Joey, REFUSED to cancel the rally in Portland only days after the stabbing occurred.
These Patriot Prayer and Antifa fools go looking for each other. And then they spend most of their time pointing fingers at each other. "You're worse. No, you're worse". They are both AWFUL groups.
Joey schedules "Freedom of Speech" rallies constantly. He thinks he can turn Washington, Oregon and California into his brand of conservatism (Trump-ism)
He has a wife and two young children. I have NO IDEA how he is supporting his family now. He couldn't land a full-time teaching/coaching job that would pay the bills. He started flipping houses for awhile but that wasn't profitable. Being a professional alt-righter is his gig now I guess.
