One of my FB contacts re-posted a video (and you know now you just have to scroll over it and it plays) that was 4 minutes and change long. It is of a C-Section!
It's titled, "Here's Proof Why You Should Respect Women!"
It's gory, its surgery and coming from this person, hard to believe she would re-post it.
Is this something you would report? Seriously, someone just scrolling by and curious to see why she thinks we need to respect women might -and well, probably stop to view it.
Please don't ask me to put the link here - I had a c-section and don't need to watch someone else's.

I hate those types of posts. I'm really loving the ability on my iphone Facebook app to "hide all posts" from what ever site is shared so I can ban the site forever!

Gross. Why is watching a C-section a reason why women should be respected?

You can go to your settings and turn off the video autoplay.
I don't understand why anyone has to post that. I hide people that mark a habit of doing that.

Yes, she is someone that doesn't post a lot but I have hid her posts so I don't run across something similar in the future.

You can report it to facebook. I guess that was my real question Annabella, is this something most folks would feel strongly enough about reporting it to Facebook? It has no warning and appears to be innocent until you see the knife, the cutting through layers and lots of blood - only the last few seconds are the baby coming out. Call me Jaded on what's ok for Facebook these days.

Call me Jaded on what's ok for Facebook these days. OK I will! You're Jaded! (And so am I. )
I've seen some awful animal cruelty videos that I just didn't need to see. I haven't seen the C-section one...yet. I'm not sure either what that has to do with respect for women. That's just odd. Maybe someone can connect the dots.
On a good note...I didn't know you could turn off Auto-Play. So, I just re-did my settings. Thanks!

Good gravy. There is way worse out there then a c-sec. Just hide it. I don't think it bears reporting to FB, and really, do they care?!

No I don't think it is. I had it pop up on my feed last night, I never watch the videos this person posts so I didn't click on it but I don't think it's a big deal.

If they don't care about post after post and even entire pages that support and encourage racism and homophobia then I hardly think they'll care about a few minutes long video of a c section.

Not everyone wants to see blood and surgery without warning on their facebook feed. We're not surgeons, looking at the sort of thing is not a natural thing. I really don't put much thought into reporting things to facebook, but 9 times out of 10 they come back and say they will allow it.

that video popped up in my newsfeed as well and it was disconcerting. I've had 2 C-sections and so I started to watch it thinking it would be kind of neat to see what was happening on the other end of the table. I got through about 3 seconds and had to stop. I didn't even think to report it, though. I just sort of shook my head and moved on.

I'd be tempted to post a video of my DH's gallbladder removal with a similar title, "Here's Proof Why You Should Respect Men!" (no, I don't have a video of DH's gallbladder removal but it would be handy in a case like this.)

I saw the same video this morning. I was only too happy to scroll right past it. I wouldn't report it, but stuff like that just grosses me out. I am not one to watch surgery.

You can report it, but Facebook won't remove it.
I'd just ignore.

I have auto play off. Also, you can go to the upper right corner of the post and an arrow will appear that will let you remove just that one post. I do that to really gory videos.

Yuck. I don't think I would report it, but I am so happy to learn that you can turn the auto play off. That is next on my agenda.

My cousin posted that, I could tell right away I needed to keep scrolling. I saw stretch marks and green surgical drapes and knew what would be coming next! Blecch

Ummm women should be respected because they are another human being!
Does this mean we don't respect men because they don't have c-sections? Or we don't respect women who deliver vaginally? That's crap.

One of FB friends posted the same or similar video yesterday. I just hid it. I don't understand half the pictures and videos people share. I want to see pictures and videos of your life not crap that's been shared over and over again and I don't even know the people.
I also had to hide pictures of abused animals that a couple of my FB friend posted every day. I don't understand that either.
