Anyone had a cat with cataracts? What was the recommendations from vet?
We have a cat who is 16 and had a healthy checkup in April. Developed constipation that required overnight hospitalization, where they detective a 3/6 heart murmur over the summer. We did an exam with another vet yesterday because he's not seeing well. Turns out now that I have all the notes/records it was noted he had bilat cataracts which explains a lot. Yet to talk to vet and not sure we will before she gets her bloodwork on him back so I figured i'd see what the peas say.
He had completely normal bloodwork in the Spring, she took more yesterday. Also of note is she couldn't detect the heart murmur either until he got a little stressed, then she said she could detect a slight murmur.

I haven't had personal experience with cat cataracts, but my oldest cat is almost sixteen. She is healthy and acts like a kitten, but I would not put her through surgery at her age.
The rescue I volunteer with has an older cat with cataracts. Her eye looks awful, but our vet does not think surgery is appropriate at her age (eighteen-ish).
