I wash 90%, I put away mine, the sheets and towels. Everyone else ours away their own, eventually. Mostly they live out of the pile on the big chair where I drop it from the dryer. There is ALWAYS A PILE. But I'm not folding laundry for a 50 year old, 2 20 year olds and an 18 year old. I'll be cracking down in the morning because we have company coming tomorrow evening.

Either dh or I will do our laundry wash dry n put away... everyone else does their own... we all have our own towels and wash in our own loads...
We are a multi generational blended household... there were never any clean towels until everyone started stashing their own..

That's a good question! Gosh, I don't know how I used to have the energy to do ALL of the laundry I did 20 years ago with 2 young children, but I prided myself on a clean, well-run household. My new hubby and I somehow got my adult kids living back with me/us, but I draw the line at doing their laundry. I do the laundry for hubby and me & I like to have fresh sheets on our bed every Friday (or Saturday). DH is going through cancer treatments and even before that, I normally did the laundry. He's not high-maintenance and if fresh laundry appears, he's happy. If not, he'll make do!

I wash and fold, each person puts up. If the clothes aren't put up properly, they are taken away for a week or two, depending on how much of a mess.
I started taking away clothes because I've always folded their clothes and put them in a basket. 2 days later they were wearing wrinkled clothes because the day before they turned everything upside down in the basket to find 1 shirt. No.
Now, before I go to bed I straighten up a little. Laundry baskets go back into the laundry room, if they have clothes, they are mine. If they are just transferred to a chair, bed, dresser or floor, they are mine.
Now, I don't really have to worry about putting up clothes. What I do have to worry about are messy drawers and closets. That's another battle.

I sort it by color/whites and by whose it is (I find it faster to fold if everybody's stuff isn't mixed), run it through the washer and dryer, fold it all. I put my own away, and depending on the time of year I put DD's away too. Right now is one of the times of year I need to go through her stuff and pull out everything that doesn't fit her anymore, so the clothes she currently wears are folded and stacked in laundry baskets in her room. Once all of the outgrown things are taken out for the upcoming season, there is room in her dressers for the stuff that fits. DH puts his own away when he gets around to it, but he typically lives out of the baskets until I need them elsewhere. Then I dump all the rest of his clean stuff into one basket and reclaim the rest for sorting the dirty clothes into and the process starts all over again.

I do the laundry for me & DH, my kids do their own. Everyone just washes a load of towels when the see the hamper full. DS has perfectly organized drawers and closet, and DD lives out of laundry baskets.

I take care of the washing/drying. I hang up/fold mine and DH's clothes. I sort the kids clothes (18mos and 6 years) into their laundry baskets. We all dress for the most part from the laundry room or the baskets. Sometimes I get a wild hair up my butt and put all of everything away. The towels get folded and stacked in the laundry room and usually get used from there unless I put them away. Sheets are taken off the beds, washed, and put back on the same day.

My kids do their own. Dh does mine and his. Well, I usually sort it and run it through and then after its done I tell him it's ready for him.
Except for towels and the fleecey blankets. I love folding them when they're nice and snuggly.

I fold most of the non-iron clothes (mainly socks and undies). I put them into 4 piles, one for each person. We all put our own away, but I have to nag the kids to put theirs away. As for ironing..... YUK that is my least favorite chore in the world. I usually leave mine in the basket for weeks and weeks (only ironing what I need wear each day) until DSO gets fed up with the overflowing basket and does mine for me! He finished up his job on Friday and doesn't have another one lined up yet, so I'm hoping that he'll do all the ironing during the week. I have finally got my 12yo son trained to iron his own school uniform now - YAY!

I do everything laundry related, there's only the two of us so it's not that big a job.

I put away Dh and my clothes.
My 12 year old does his own laundry so putting it away is shoving it into the closet in a pile.
I also do my 3 year olds clothes.

Me, I do it all, wash, dry either outside or if it's raining, in the dryer, iron and put away. I will occasionally ask DH and DD's to put the clothes that don't need ironing away ( socks, underwear and towels mainly), if they're around.
It's quicker for me to get it all out of the way after I finish ironing than to wait for them to come home later and do so. If they all did their own washing each of them wouldn't have enough for a full load. DD's have very little white washing for instance, except school blouses. To me that would be a waste of resources if they each did 5 blouses each individually. So everyone's whites go in together, everyone's delicate's in another load and dark colours in another and so on.

I have never ironed a thing, unless you count the years when, in the fall, we'd iron lovely red and orange leaves between two pieces of waxed paper.

Everyone does their own laundry and puts it away. It's been like that since their early teens. I will lend a hand if someone is busy and needs the laundry moved or folded. My oldest dd once dated someone who wore his clothes out of the laundry basket, never putting them away. She was horrified

That would be me. There are just the two of us. I have a wooden clothes rod that hangs across the washer and dryer so clothes are easy to hang. If I don't put DH's away, they will be there until one by one he plucks the clothes off the hanger to wear them. Same goes for his towels (his own linen closet) and anything that goes into the dresser.

When my kids lived home we had separate baskets for everyone and each person put their own laundry away. However, I was the person who washed, dried, and folded. I have since found out that many people have their kids do their own laundry entirely from the age of about 15.

My kids have been doing their own laundry and putting it away (or at least in their own room) since they were about 12. I do dh and my laundry and fold and put away for both of us.

Two of us in our house. I do most of the laundry. My husband did more of it when he retired last fall, but now that he's been having chemo, and now chemo/radiation, I'm back to doing more. Sheets are washed, dried and put back in the bed. Towels I do as needed. I wash most of our clothes together, and he'll help hang up shirts if he's around. I sort and put away the rest. I've actually been doing better at getting it put away right after it's brought upstairs, instead of sometimes sitting for a day or two.
I think it's very good for kids to learn to do laundry at a young age (I had to teach a college roommmate because she'd never done it.), but I always wonder how efficient it is to have everyone in a household doing his/her own laundry? Does everyone have enough to do a full load of 'whites' or do they just do all items together? I don't wash jeans with my white tees and tanks, for example, and I wouldn't wash my or my husband's dress pants with jeans either.

I wash what laundry is brought to the laundry dry room I switch it to the dryer I sort it & fold it and put it in a basket
If they can't handle it from there it sits in the basket.
I seem to be the only person in my family who has the capability to sort clean laundry though.

The boys put away their own clothes.
DH and I will work together to put away our clothes. He will probably away his stuff and I'll put away mine. Some things I put away like his undershirts. I can fold them and get 20 of them to fit in the drawer in one stack while he ends up filling a drawer with them with no room for anything else. He sucks at folding.
I put away the towels. We both will make the bed.

I love reading about all the kids that do their own laundry. That's what we did with our kids. Put laundry baskets in their rooms and they were responsible for doing their own laundry from start to finish. My DH and I just share the job. We are retired and both of us just do the laundry when it needs doing. No score card, lol

Does everyone put away their own clothes? Do you put away your spouse's clothes? Do your kids put away their own clothes? Does everyone just live out of the laundry baskets? Inquiring minds want to know. I do laundry and hand it to my dad. He takes out his clothes which is fine and he puts his away. I put my stuff away. DS does his own laundry at times and leaves it in the basement. I haven't figured out how that is working for him as of yet seeing how the stuff is laying in a heap. I don't know if it's clean or dirty either for that matter. It's sitting on a counter.

SO and I both do our laundry based on who sees it needs to be done and has the time. Whichever one of us does the laundry puts it away also. Our two older kids have been doing their own laundry start to finish since before high school and they are young adults now. The younger two don't wash their own clothes yet but they put their clothes away when then come home to folded laundry on their beds. I can't wait for them to be old enough to do their own but they are tiny and can't reach the bottom of the top loader and can barely carry the basket upstairs. They are 8yo and 52lbs and 11yo and 61lbs, respectively.

Me. I like it done properly. This is me with folding. I like things folded a particular way so it fits on the shelf (DH and me) or in the dresser drawer (DD). I'm pretty sure DH does it wrong on purpose so I won't ask him to do it and I really don't care because I don't mind the folding all that much. If it were up to him or DD, we would all be wearing wrinkly clothes pulled from a wad in a basket.
