My husband and I are running in Disney in a couple of weeks and of course my DH has decided he NEEDS this logo on his t-shirt. I just bought some HTV, but I am not sure how to make this into a cut file. I have imported it and traced it, but it isn't a good, clean trace. It is also both black and white so it is stumping me a bit as to how to do it. I know the answer should be very obvious, and i was hoping someone would be able to walk me through the steps. I have a Silhouette, FYI. TIA!

My guess is that it is a screenprint with white paint on a black t-shirt. That is why you are getting a 2 tone look. What color HTV do you have and what color shirt? It is not going to be a clean trace due to the grunge factor of the print. That's just a thought.
I would do one color and have open areas of the HTV. Make sense?

naby64 has the general idea. This is just one vinyl color--white, on a black shirt. You want to reverse weed the word "outta". So you will pull the letters that spell outta, leaving the background in that area. Make sense now? As for the tracing, have you upgraded to the newest software? It's supposed to do a better job tracing, but I haven't traced anything with a distressed font yet. But I did trace a cut that has some pretty fine lines and it did a great job! To trace, I would turn off the high pass filter and see what happens. Try playing with the trace feature and see if different adjustments help. Also, you may have some luck trying to trace for the white letters, then do another trace for the black letters. Finally, you can just create this on your own with a similar font and a few boxes. It really is a very simple design and a good first project if you haven't created your own designs yet. If you are still having problems, tag me. I can make the file for you pretty easily. I'm not over on this board a lot--I usually just peek in on the weekends took look at what others are making.

Thanks! It is a crappy trace because of the grungy mess going on in the graphic. I was actually able to find the font so I'm thinking it is just a matter of designing it. I appreciate the help! I will holler if I get stuck. 👍🏻
