Yes, a former neighbor who is now deceased. She was such a sweetheart, and it makes me sad to now associate the hurricane with that name.

Yes, one of my BFF's. She can be a bit of a hurricane if you cross her or someone she cares about. She lives overseas but incidentally, she doesn't like Florida either.

There's a couple in Spokane named Harvey and Irma. They've been married 75 years. (I don't know them). They have had 120 foster children! Harvey and Irma

Yes, my great-aunt. She is droll and laid back, wicked smart and would prepare for a hurricane by mixing several pitchers of margaritas and stocking up on chips and salsa.

Yes, the Irma I know is sweet as well. It's always tough when there's a hurricane or other storm about with your name on it--especially when it's a devastating one. I've known very nice Katrinas, Sandys, Bobs, & Agneses, too, just to name a few.

No Irma's that I'm aware of in the family or that I've known.
My dad was Harvey. I have a photo of him as a child hanging on the chalkboard next to my Hurricane Harvey rain tallies. He had a fantastic sense of humor and would have loved it! Let's hope there isn't another hurricane after Katia. That one will be Lee, which was my dad's middle name. What are the odds?

Yes. She was my old principal. Hired me for my first teaching job 20 years at the age of 22. She was mean, cut throat, and only cared what she looked like. She didn't care who she stepped on to get what she wanted. 😬

I was chatting with a few people after church on Sunday and we were discussing whether Irma might come up the east coast (still a possibility at that point,) Other people came up, the conversation changed, and I idly watched a darling old lady named Erma walk past our group. I tuned back in to the conversation to hear, "I hope Irma stays away!" and "Yes, I hope she just blows on out to sea!"...and I swear for like two seconds I was horrified that they would say something like that about such a sweet, frail, tiny old lady! LOL.

The mom in the house across the street from us in our hometown was Irma (though I do not know the spelling). I always loved her and husband. Their children were a lot older than us, so we did not know them quite as well as some of the others but she always had treats for us or something to play with. Her house as always immaculate as well (probably because her kids were so much older! LOL)

My DHs grandmother is an Irma. She's a wonderful, tough lady with a spunky sense of humour. I adore her!

My grandma had a neighbor named Irma years ago. She's been dead for years. It's funny because she kept to herself but often could be seen looking out picture window with binoculars.

Yes and no, pronounced the same way but spelled Erma - she is DSIL's MIL. DSIL is not very fond of her...

Yes, she's a nurse at my Dr's office. She's German but married to a Brit. She's been here years and is the nicest person you could ever wish to meet.

I worked with an Irma in college. She was really quiet. You never really knew when she was around.
