I just recently went and ordered new eyeglasses at my eye doctor (insurance covered most of it). But I'd like to get another pair or two to have as "backup" in case these get scratched up/damaged like the ones I'm wearing right now. Preferably not something that will break the bank...
Anyone have any site recommendations (or any I definitely need to steer clear of)?

My DD has purchased 2 pairs of prescription eyeglasses from an online store called Zenni Optical. They were each under $25.00 and they are great! Was was worried about the quality but they seem fine. She has had them since February/March and they haven't had any problems except she had to have the nose piece tightened because they were slipping down. She would highly recommend them. www.zennioptical.comMelani

I have also been ordering from Zenni optical. I've gotten 3 pairs all for about $25 each with shipping and the antiglare coating added. They have tons of styles and was very easy to do. Just need to know your prescription.

We've also used Zenni and had good results. I bought 3 pairs of glasses for my husband and paid about $100 total for them.

I've used Zenni for years. Last time I got three pair for around $50 including shipping.
If you get some that you don't like it's no big deal since they are so cheap
There's a giant markup on glasses at regular stores.
ETA--See if your dr will give you your pupillary distance.
You can also do it yourself. Once I went to the eye dr at Sam's and they refused to tell me. I told them I would buy a pair from them if they would tell me. Nope.
So I walked out, went to Target Optical; told them I would buy a pair of glasses from them if they would give me my pupillary distance. They said sure.
Once you have it, the number stays the same (I guess unless if you are really young and still growing)

zenni was recommended to us as well! my 12 yr old broke his glasses 1 week after the warranty, which was also 1 week past his prescription expiring. since he has a very mild correction and the glasses' strength is fine for him, I didn't want to spend the money on a new exam plus new glasses at the store. we got the prescription and ordered from zenni a couple days ago. hoping for the same good experience everyone else seems to have! the feature of being able to try the glasses on is pretty cool, and hopefully accurate to what they will look like.

if you already have glasses you like but only want to change the lenses to a new prescription, REPLACE A LENS is absolutely awesome! they've replaced progressive lenses and sun glass lenses for me and have always done a great job. they are cheap and turnaround time is great. i highly recommend them!

See if your dr will give you your pupillary distance. Thanks! I saw her write it down on my prescription, so I think I've got it. If not, I have a friend who used to work at an optical lab, she can measure it for me if need be. Thank you all for the responses, looks like zenni's going to be the place to go - I'm excited, they have some really cute glasses!

Another vote for Zenni and I've also used Coastal with good results.
