I know! Some of those carts they bring are the size of a refrigerator. Packing and hauling that much stuff would stress me out immensely. I like your lean approach a lot better. They have carts as large as a refridgerator??? LOL. If I had a cart that size and could figure out how to get it into my vehicle, I prob would use it at home to organize my scrap crap, then just roll it out the door and down the ramp, load it, and then zip off to the crop! I tend to be "one of those ladies" who brings a LOT of stuff to a crop, but I feel less disoriented before, during and after the crop if I don't disrupt my storage system too much. So I tend to take ALL my ink pads, for example, rather than selecting a few to take and then having to return them to their stand when I get home. Today, though, I am off to card class with a very light shoulder tote. Not sure how heavy it will be when I come back home...
I would be one of those ladies as well. I can pick my papers and my photos before hand, but I don't know what I want for the page until I start on it. I need all of the embellishments. This is why I've only been to a few crops. They were each 12 hour ones. I didn't feel it was worth the packing. For a 3 day crop, it would be worth it, especially with that refrigerator sized cart.

I'm always amazed at the amount of stuff people bring to a crop. I know when someone is talking about me. I own that. I roll in with my MacWagon. I have my packing down to a science though. At the end of the day, I rarely use half of what I brought, but what if I NEED it? This is me. And I tend to get bored with one project so I like to go between several!

I dubbed this week end project catch up lol. I scrapped at home on Thurs as well as yesterday, and got caught up on my One Little Word album. I am catching up today on my Fit album. (a CZ class about scrapbooking move more/eat well) I am also doing 30 days of lists this month and am caught up w/ that except for some photo printing.

I love to work from kits at a crop. I'll throw in a sentiment set and 2-3 ink pads, but other than that, it's papers and embellishments from the kit. If I have pre-done die cuts on hand, I'll bring those, too, but mostly I fussy-cut embellishments from the kit paper when I'm away from my own stash. I travel with an old CTMH shoulder bag that fits 12x12 paper and my purple Fiskars trimmer.
I wouldn't want to craft that way ALL the time, but it's kind of fun to do a couple of times a year!
A multi-day crop might have me packing more - I don't know, as I've never been to one.

I have spent 3.5 hours organizing two shelves of paper. Two shelves. I like to have all of my lines labeled so I can find them more easily. This is turning into the never-ending project. I have about 8 inches of paper to give away at my next crop though. I have piled up my desk with anything that needs to go somewhere else and now that will be a another project! I clearly need to scrap and am avoiding it.

I'm holding out for the Christmas ones, since I got a couple of the other TH Halloween sets. I mean, I can't buy everything! Did you see the Sizzix Instagram post they shared today? Someone made bookmarks out of these. I assume they're gifts for lots of kids. So adorable!

oaksong Should I confess I also bought the Christmas set... and the snow globe village. In my defense, they were my anniversary gifts. Pretty cheap in the long run. I'm sure there are some husbands out there that think DH got a bargain and didn't even have to go shopping for me. I did it all myself. ๐๐๐ป ETA: off to follow Sizzix on IG

I'm always amazed at the amount of stuff people bring to a crop. my collapsible wagon full of Iris boxes is still packed from the Labor Day crop I attended- and it's staying packed till the end of the month, when I'm going to a 2 1/2 day hotel retreat! LOL!! I just can't pre-plan to the point that I don't have 'options' for what to work on, or what supplies to use. It's the main reason I pack all my supplies in 12x12 Iris cases, actually. (I also work in perpetual chaos, with all the stuff around me- but I'm used to it.) I hope you got a lot done at your crop, and had a good time!!! but logic escapes me when I pack. ^^^ this happens to me, too! I also bring my laptop, my Selphy photo printer, my Silhouette, my electric typewriter, etc. etc. etc. I figure if I use ONE thing out of each container, that justifies my having hauled it all the way there, lol!! ETA: it also helps that we get a 6-foot table at the retreat, too-- plenty of space to fill with scrap crap! And inevitably, at some point during the weekend, I will take my layouts out into the hallway outside the hotel ballroom and spread out on the FLOOR!!
