Last time we traveled, dh forgot his pj pants. We had to go buy a new pair (we were staying with family and he didn't want to parade around in his underwear). Funny side note, we were jetlagged in a foreign country, so he ended up accidentally buying *women's* pj pants. They were VERY snug... We had to go back the next day and get a new pair so he wouldn't look like he was smuggling hamsters in his pants.
So, I'm packing for vacation today and am obsessing over forgetting something. I thought maybe if you told me what you've forgotten, it might help me remember everything?

We are on our way back from camping in the Sierra Mountain Range in California and I forgot to bring lip balm. Thank goodness my husband had Carmex in his SUV or I would have been miserable.

Car charger for my phone. I had the wall chargers and USB cables but not the car adapter and I rented a car and could have used it.

I have lists upon lists and it seems like I forget something every time!
Last overnite trip we took I apparently had forgotten to refill my toiletry bag. I was out of body wash, Q-tips & deodorant.
I've also been known to forget sunglasses (if we're leaving at nite), camera batteries & my iPod.

We went camping this summer....and I forgot to pack the lanterns and flashlights. We ended up at WalMart buying new ones. Now we have a boatload of lanterns.

My makeup and round brush. We were at Disneyland and I roughed it in a pony tail and a clean face for 4 days.

I forgot my blow dryer one time. While most rooms have them, I like mine. I have curly hair and mine has a diffuser that helps tame it somewhat. Had to go buy a brand new one.
I had it on the list but had used it that morning getting ready to leave and in the rush forgot to add it to the bag.

I've left my winter coat on at least two occasions. Blame the house-to-garage trip at 4am, but when I got to Switzerland, I was frozen. Coats are VERY expensive there

ds wanted to bring 2 prs of pajama pants but only brought one. Luckily my dad is tiny (due to health problems) so ds was able to borrow a pair from him. DD forgot her dr's note for the metal in her arm but it wasn't an issue at all. She also forgot to bring a little sweater she knitted for my sister's dog but the dog would have been way too fat for it anyway.

Always my memory card for my camera. Or, if I remember that, then I forget the battery at home.

Surprisingly, we didn't forget anything when we went to Costa Rica in June. But when DD and I went to Philly in April, she forgot to pack contact lenses. Had to spend the entire trip in her glasses. They look fantastic on her, but at 13, she was really mortified.

A couple years ago I left the suitcase that I had packed for my son and I to bring on our cruise and didn't realize it until we got to the harbor parking lot. My son once left for our annual trip to Michigan (we stay for six weeks) without any shoes. This summer I left for my 3 day road trip to Michigan without extra underwear. I was too lazy to unpack the Suburban to get to my big suitcase, so I washed the pair I had both nights.

Last time we went camping, I forgot lunch meat and cheese. We ended up stopping by a grocery store before the campground to get some because I at least remembered before we got there (motorhome, no second car). DH wanted lip balm and usually have one stashed away just about everywhere but the motor home and my knitting bag.
Another time, I forgot the eggs. Forgot the camera. Forgot the pictures for MIL. I ALWAYS forget something. DH is no help because he assumes that I got everything.

Finger nail clippers. I keep a list I typed on the computer one year. We go somewhere fun every year that generally takes us out of the country with no personal vehicle so having everything really helps. I gave the list to my boys when they were 8 and 10 and they have packed every year since.
Oh, tampons. Those could be key unless you want to knit yourself up a couple.

Before the list, I went to another state for my mother's funeral and it was out in the boonies with no stores. I forgot a spare pair of underwear. I wore my hubby's since there was no time to get any. Luckily it was in the 80's and the dresses weren't so tight fitting. I smiled quietly through the funeral knowing my mom would just be laughing her butt off at me wearing a man's panties.

On a trip right now and forgot dental floss, good thing it's easy enough to pick up. In the mean time I'm still searching my suitcase for my wide tooth comb. Sure I'll find that when I unpack.

I've left my winter coat on at least two occasions. Blame the house-to-garage trip at 4am, but when I got to Switzerland, I was frozen. Coats are VERY expensive there We often leave Denver in a giant snowstorm only to arrive somewhere tropical in 12 hours. So easy to forget what you need elsewhere.

That made me literally LOL! What a visual!!
One of my recurring dreams is that I am packing for a trip and I keep forgetting things, and it takes me so darn long to pack that I am in danger of missing my flight. It's an awful dream. So when I am packing to go away I make a list of everything that I need to pack. Not so much the clothes, but other things like: mobile (cell) phone phone charger Kindle Kindle charger iPod iPod charger waterproof camera waterproof camera charger DSLR camera DSLR charger laptop laptop charger EHD
Basically all the electronics and their chargers!! I wouldn't worry about forgetting clothes or toiletries, but I would be shattered if I forgot my camera. Mind you, our trips away are always to a beach house or mountain house and we drive there. I probably wouldn't be packing all those electronics if I were flying somewhere.
My dad always used to tell me not to worry about forgetting anything. As long as you have your wallet and credit card / ATM card you can buy anything you have forgotten. (Well, except for a camera - that's a bit too expensive!).

We went to Vegas two years ago and my husband forgot to pack underwear. Not a single pair.
We went to Punta Cana last month and I told him at least four times to pack a pair of slacks for going out to dinner at the resort. We arrived and unpacked and he looked at me and said, "I guess I didn't bring any long pants." Of course he needed them for the nights we dined at the restaurants (not the buffet) so we had to go find a pair to buy. He got a really nice pair of "island pants" and wore them all four nights. We got home and I told him at least five times not to put them in the dryer (he does the laundry). Yup, he put them in the dryer and I don't think he could wear them again unless he loses about 20 pounds and shrinks 3 inches.

Once we went to Hawaii and I forgot to pack my son a swimsuit! Hotel suits run about $50!
At our last hotel, I forgot to unplug our phone charger. I am sure they have 100s of those.

I'm usually really obsessive about packing so I rarely forget anything. But... never say never. I did forget the memory card for my DSLR (still stuck in my laptop at home) when I flew out to Colorado recently. Luckily, it was an easy thing to pick up another.
