I'm wondering if anyone has made an attempt to fix their cracked Misti... I'm thinking it might be pretty easy to do if you buy a new piece of acrylic and just replace the top... I have one of the first ones that is cracking really bad. I do have a Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform (which I am having issues with and should be receiving my replacement any day) but (and this pains me to say) I like the results I get from my Misti more. As bad as the customer service is, and badly cracked as my original Misti is, if I could find a way to easily replace the lid, I think I'd use my Misti over the TH Stamp Platform. The results I achieve with my Misti are superior to the results I get from the TH Stamp Platform - and I'm not at all happy about this! Would there be an easy way to remove the lid? Are plastic hinges easy to find? I'm thinking I may give it a try but I thought I'd ask here first to see if anyone has tried to do this and if so, can you offer any tips?

Disclaimer: I don't own a Misti, but I've seen one up close; I do have the Hampton Arts copy of it and one I made myself.
That being said: I purchased plastic hinges on Ebay for a pretty reasonable price. I wasn't able to find them at any of my local stores. I'm not sure how easy it would be to remove the lid and hinges from your base, though. I know you're probably not too worried about breaking the lid, since it's already cracked, but I don't know that you'll be able to get them to release from the base without causing damage.

Could you glue a very thin sheet of plastic to the outer side to hold it together?

Maybe building on Don's idea, you could use clear Contac paper on top of it to keep it together. They sell it all over, even Walmart and Target carry it.
