I don't know if anyone still watches The View. I've actually been a watcher for years. I WAH and I record it every day and try to watch while I eat lunch or after work. I just found out on Wednesday that Jed abruptly announced she is leaving on Monday. I missed Monday's show and it fell off my DVR. I was shocked when I found out, shocked and disappointed. She was one of my very favorites. Even though I lean more to the left, I felt she was always fair, balanced, intelligent and articulate.
Does anyone know what the real story is. I've read things that said it had to do with the Hillary Clinton interview the week before or some things she said about Hillary after. Other sources say no, that had nothing to do with it. I definitely don't buy that it was her choivce, not one bit. I feel certain she was fitpred, but why?
Bottom line though, I'm pretty sure I'm done watching. It seems like any woman with a strong voice who is a consertative gets pushed out these days. Their views often don't line up with mine but I really enjoyed hearing them. The whole point of the show was to hear different viewpoints. It's just really disappointing. And honestly Whoopi drives me nuts. I feel she brings nothing to the table, other than her comedic and acting reputation, which she seems to get a certain level of almost worship for. I think she's condescending and dismissive of opinions other than her own, either by rolling her eyes, mugging for the camera, or just shutting them down.
I'm hearing that Megan McCain is in talks to replace Jed, and I'm just not a fan of hers. I actually think I'm done with the show tbh. I think I'll be removing it from my DVR.
Just wondered what others thought, or if anything ne even cares...lol.

I used to DVR it but finally gave up about a year ago, maybe 2 years ago. It was Raven who ended up getting on my last nerve.

Joy and Whoopi drive me up the wall ~ I was never a regular viewer but I stopped watching altogether because of them.

I watch the View daily...but not because I agree with them. I actually use the show to 'hear' the other side of things. I am no fan of Whoppi or Joy - neither listen to anyone that disagrees with them. IMHO Jed had no real chance on the show. She was the most conservative and they have been pretty rough with her lately. But they seem to run off any republican/conservatives pretty regularly so again, I am not surprised.

Jed was not pro Republican or Democrat. She was a fiscally conservative independent. She believed in smaller government. She stated that many times. She often agreed with Joy and Whoopi about Trump's actions and then there were times she absolutely did not. She was not a fan of HRC, but I thought she asked great questions during the interview.
I am sorry to see her go. I loved how outspoken and still respectful she was on the panel. Hope she makes a few guest appearances too.
I hope they hire another independent like her. She was a good representation of the "less popular" opinion on the show.
When she left, she made it sound like she had a host of other activities she was going to work on. I am pretty sure she won't be going back to Fox after the things she said about some of the commentators of their shows. Who knows. She was a fan of Roger Allies, but believed there was sexism on that network.

Right, Jed was a Libertarian. Her conservative viewpoint and her dislike of HRC set her apart from the group. And while she was absolutely no fan of Trump, she was the only one to sometimes see the positive side of what he was doing. And she tried to provide a perspective of the people who did vote for him and support him. I agree that she often saw eye-to-eye with Whoopi and Joy. I think that's what I loved about her--she was very balanced. I cannot for the life of me understand why they wouldn't want her on the show. I did see Whoopi get irritated with her at times and I can't help but feel she had a part in her ouster.
Yes, Jed listed all the projects she was working on, but those were things she already knew she was working on. There's no way they would have had her part of the current season, which started just a few weeks ago, if it was planned that she was going to leave so soon due to other projects. And the way it was announced so abruptly, on a Monday no less, and then boom, she's gone. I read that she received an email on Saturday that she was fired and that was it. Who knows if that's true, but it rings true. I just don't understand why and it pisses me off. I do feel Megan McCain will be her replacement. I'm just not interested in continuing to watch anymore. I loved Nicole Wallace, and they got rid of her. Now it's the same with Jed.
