I was scrapping with a friend and she didn't know about making her own glue dots. I thought maybe someone else out there would like to know how easy and cheap it is.
I use Alene's Tack It Over & Over Again glue. I've saved the strips that the store-bought glue dots come on and just dab a drop of glue on the strips of coated paper. Let them dry overnight and there you have it!
I've had the bottle of Alene's glue for years and have made many, many glue dots. I actually like them better than ones you buy.
If you don't have the strips from the store-bought ones, I'm sure you could use wax or parchment paper.

I think they hold better than store-bought glue dots.
Another thing I should have mentioned is that of course you can make them any size you like. I usually just make small ones though.

I remember (way, way back) something about this but not as easy as you describe and didn't work as well either... or wait, maybe it was making your own pebbles or rain drops or something (which also did not work so well).
Either way, I'll give it a try. Love those glue dots!

Interesting! I use it for re sticking my Silhouette mat, never thought about using it for Glue Dots!

I have lots of adhesives but I don't have the 'tack it over and over' glue. Thanks for sharing this information!
