Seems to love do you loathe?
I probably have many but top of my list has to be Prince's Purple Rain no matter who sings it.
What songs have you wanting to turn them off?

The only one that has me running to change the station is the stupid Christmas Shoes song at Christmastime. I hate that song with a fiery passion.

I, too, do not like Purple Rain one tiny bit. But, I'm probably in the minority who loves Christmas Shoes. The TV movie too. Rob Lowe is a huge part in that. 😊

I can't stand John Lennon's Imagine. It's so whiny!

Anything Katy Perry sings. Dark Horse and Eye of the Tiger especially make my stomach curdle. I wish it weren't true but those songs just make me so nauseous. Why those two? I dislike all her songs but the two mentioned just make me yell at the radio.
I hate This Kiss by Faith Hill, too.
Anything by Shania Twain. Her crackely voice just gets on my last nerve. You've got a way, That Don't Impress Me, the squeaking in Man I feel like a woman. Those get turned off immediately, too.

Mustang Sally, which happens to be one of DSO's favorite songs. I don't know why I dislike it, the guy has an absolutely magnificent voice. I think it was probably overplayed when it came out and I got sick of it.
I love the Beatles but I have never understood why Hey Jude is often voted as their best song. I don't hate it, I just don't feel the love that others do for this song.
Hotel California. Or anything by The Eagles actually. YAAAAAAAAWN! (This admission might get me kicked of the board, seeing that we often refer to this place and Hotel California.

Wind beneath my wings. And tears from heaven. Mate them. Feliz Navida and last Christmas make me very angry cuz I hate them so much. I shot the sheriff
I am beginning to despise amazing grace. Seriously it is a hymn not a vocal exercise.

Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Again, no matter who sings it! That song drags on forever... Had to mute Kate McKinnon last night.

For me, it depends who is singing the song. In the other thread I said I don't like Celine Dion, but I could like a song she sings if it is sung by someone else.
I can't think of a song I can't stand, no matter who sings it. I'll come back if I think of one.

The only song that I have ever had such a strong hatred of that I had to either leave the area immediately if I couldn't turn it off was MacArthur Park. I absolutely despise that song.

First thing that comes to mind is anything by The Beach Boys. I like Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville on Sirius radio but as soon as The Beach Boys come on, I have to change the station.

Most recently, it was that ridiculous, “I’m Happy” song. Blech. I LOVE this! It does make me happy! First thing that comes to mind is anything by The Beach Boys. I like Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville on Sirius radio but as soon as The Beach Boys come on, I have to change the station. I am a huge Beach Boy fan and there's not much they sang that I didn't like other than God Only Knows and I can even bear that. I remember my mother being horrified in the 60s when it was released because a pop song should not have had God in it. I think it was banned in a few places. Their work in the 70s and 80s is better than the surf stuff. Long Promised Road, Cabinessence and Sail On Sailor just 3 of my favourites.

God Bless the USA - have to turn off this jingoistic claptrap.
And yet, a beautifully sung God Bless America can make me cry.

That Lee Greenwood song about the USA. It gets a lot of play around these parts, especially at sporting events, and I cringe the entire time. It's just so hackneyed.

My son's boy scout troop always played that as the introduction to their Eagle Scout courts of honor. DS rebelled with a string quartet, LOL. That smarmy song grates on my nerves.

Prince - Kiss. I hate the stupid falsetto, it makes me cringe.
ETA It's not really a falsetto is it? More of a shouty scream...bluergh.

She will leave it on that song over and over and overandoverandover until my ears bleed. And once my ears have stopped bleeding from that, that stupid song is stuck in my head and I continue to hear it even when it's not on! However, I probably would choose that one over the new Taylor Swift song. I honestly don't know how that thing ever got made.

When this song first came out, my 14yo DD and her friends were all over this song ... singing it ALL.THE.TIME! Now, they are over it. I sent them this image below a couple of days ago and now, this is what they sing and make stuff up on their own! It's hilarious what they come up with! LOL
