I've been trying to type this thread, but a very playful kitten insists on jumping every time he sees the cursor move. He's purring in my ear and it's very hard to focus. Crazy cat lady, party of one! Tonight I'm going to make PW's chicken nuggets and french fries.
What's on your menu?
Have a delightful day.

I'm still not sure. I have leftovers of last night's dinner, which was very yummy, but I'm just not sure I want to eat it again tonight. If not that, I'll have pizza. I probably should decide as it is nearly 6pm here.
I am now officially sorted for my surgery and recovery - I received an info package from the rehab center today, telling me I have a single room reserved, starting one week from my surgery, and that transport has been arranged for me. There was also a colorful brochure with lots of pretty pictures, which make it look very enticing! Best of all, they told me the cost - it is basically covered by my insurance, except for the usual €10/day co-pay, so my three weeks in a spa in the Bavarian Alps foothills will cost me the grand total of €210!

Veal is on sale this week so I want that and DS can have salmon. I am going to go get some spätzle in a while. There is asparagus and broccoli in the fridge so I will use both of them for dinner tonight. I will make salad, tomatoes and something else.

Well, I didn't cook last night. SO made daughter a grilled cheese and I was cleaning and putting out fall decorations.
I should probably do something for dinner tonight. Maybe order some fried chicken because that is something I can't cook!

No clue. There's enough leftover fried rice to feed the kid, at least. There's also a pound-plus of ground beef. We'll see. I'll report back later.

We ended up having yummy salmon last night. I could eat it every night. We're going to a mid-afternoon movie so I'm thinking sloppy joes for dinner.

I'm having the hardest time finding decent things for my ladies group to see lately ... September Movie Night turned into "Let's Just Go For Dinner!" because there was nothing we would find interesting We are hoping to see "The Mountain Between Us" for October ... I love Kate Winslet

Tonight I am either going to make Polish sausage, potato and onions all fried up together or I am going to make shepherds pie with moose burger, corn, cheese and mashed potatoes. The closer it gets to dinner I will have a better idea.
Yesterday afternoon I spent hours mowing our lawn for the last time of the season. We are almost to the end of fall and there were so many leaves to pick up. The weather guy predicts our first snow to be sometime between Oct 5th and Oct 16. That could be as soon as next week!! I have some more stuff to finish up hopefully today and be completely done with the yard until spring.
I am headed out to Northern CA next week to visit my sister for a few days. Sort of an early birthday present to me and I have a new great niece to love on. I am leaving the cool temps here to high 80's there. I better dig out my summer clothes again!!

What is a citrate pie? sueg, your surgery is starting to sound like a holiday. I pulled a couple of fish packs out of the freezer. I think one is tuna and the other dorado. Both will be grilled and we'll have either a Salad Nicoise (with the tuna) or fish tacos (with the dorado).

Well little dude won Award of Excellence (1st place) last night in his division (special artist) and is moving on to district level competition now!
Tonight is roasted lemon garlic herb chicken, roasted vegetables (carrots, baby yukon gold potatoes, brussel sprouts) and chilled cranberry sauce.
The chicken just came out of the oven. I like to roast it while the kids are in school. Makes dinner time less hectic. It will get warmed up while I roast the vegetables.

And dinner? Found salmon in the freezer, carrots, leeks and some unidentifiable ones in the freezer, so I made fish soup today. Added sambal oelek, and the kids told me I don't have to do that again.

@calimom2, Congratulations to your ds. sueg, Too bad you have to go through the surgery part in order to get to the spa part. As part of rehab will they offer other modalities like acupuncture? It will really help to hasten your recovery.

I'm in the not-sure camp too. DH is taking a nap and there is a half-eaten pizza on the kitchen counter. Maybe he'll want to work on the pizza some more at dinner time. If not, there are fish sticks in the freezer and I can come up with a veggie side. I may have cereal. After that enthusiastic wrap up, don't all rush over to my house for dinner tonight! There's a limited amount of cold pizza and fish sticks to go around.

Oh, BF will be back home tonight, so we'll finish up the potroast. I am going to make a tomato salad; I picked bunches today, some with sketchy looking skin -- possible frost damage. Not sad.

We are back from the long haul with our trailer. And clearly, we need a smaller trailer. It was too big for us. I took so many kitchen items and we did not use 75% of them. And too hard to haul the thing. So, I will look for another hardly-used tin can on wheels. Joy. Or not. I hate haggling for my purchases, but we won't buy new. The scribe's husband wants chicken tonight as I did not make chicken one single night while on the road. So, I bought what passes as a Costco chicken in the nearby burg and we'll have potatoes and broccoli with it. Oranges and melon for dessert. Thanks for the thread. Good to be back at the desktop, typing away on the huge keyboard

Today (being Friday here) is the Grand Final Eve public holiday. Yes we love our sport in this town, we have a public holiday for a horse race and now a public holiday for the day before the AFL Grand Final (equivalent of the US Superbowl). We are going to friends' house for a BBQ dinner so whatever they're cookin' is what I'll be eatin' !

We're having homemade citrate pie and peas Raspberries and natural yoghurt for dessert A google search didn't help me, JoP . What is a citrate pie? LOL, I googled too but the closest match I got was citrate piperazine! (FYI: PIPERAZINE CITRATE is a reliable and efficacious preparation for the therapy and control of ascaridosis in all animal species. It is effective against all development stages of ascarides in the intestines of animals. It is also active against oxyurids, some strongyli, Oesophagostomum spp. and Capillaria spp. Piperazine paralyses the parasites, which are then by peristaltic movements expelled from the intestines.) Mmmmm, yum!
