I seriously feel hostile to feral cats. One of my neighbors cats Peed on the back door so many times it ruined the door. I can't prove it was her cat, but $1000 later I still feel angry about it. I found that if you put ammonia down the cat will stay away.

I buy club-size containers of ground black pepper each spring to protect my herb beds and mallard nests. I sprinkle it to encircle their flower beds and even across the path that leads to the duck bed. The first sprinkle is usually excessive, I'm able to see the tracks in it. Edit: lesley I forgot to say how much I enjoyed your first post. I have an older relative who hates cats. His next door cat must know, he sets on his sill and torments the human.

Red pepper applied liberally on the window ledge should work.
