What a terrible ordeal. It's one of my worst fears for my dogs. I hope everything will be ok. Keep us updated. I'm thinking about you.

Hoping things go well with your dog! Unfortunately, it didn't work out for my brother's dog, Dude, when he ingested rat poison.

Anxious to hear how your puppy is. This makes me sick. My dog ingested have an oleander bush at a friend's house where we were staying. Honestly, it was horrible. We were three hours away from the nearest vet, as it was at the beach on the outer banks. It was 3 o'clock in the morning when I realized What happened. I tried to help and throw up and sat with him all night. The good news is, he turned out to be fine. I hope it's the same for you baby

I hope your doggie is OK. I often wonder how our pets who are smaller than we are can ingest so much stuff. My little kitten would eat anything that doesn't eat him first. Wishing your furry baby well.

Yes! My cousins son's dog did just that! He ate 3 packs. They did the same treatments for him as they are doing for your dog and he is fine. He is part Lab part pit bull.

Our 14 lb dachshund got into the trash and ended up with mycotoxin poisoning on Monday of this week. She acted drunk and we took her to the ER vet at 8pm - by the time we got there, she was nonresponsive, eyes rolled back, and tongue lolling out of her mouth. Scariest doggy parent incident ever, I seriously thought she was going to die in my arms. They immediately put her on fluids and gave her activated charcoal to soak up the toxin and she was A-Okay by 11am the next day (she was a little bit queasy for the next 24 hours and threw up a couple times, but otherwise no adverse issues).
Keep the faith, activated charcoal and fluids can be a miracle - Hope your baby's doing well this morning.

We'll pick her up and watch her for the rest of the week until she's out of the woods. Did they give her Vitamin K? That is used to treat for the anticoagulant that is in some mouse/rat poisons, but not all. We did not know what our dog had gotten into, so you are lucky that you did know the type and could let the vet know the type. Time is on your side! Since you caught it early and could get it out of the dogs system that is a positive! I hope it continues down the good path!

I don't know if they gave her Vitamin K. The poison wasn't anticoagulant. It was the neurotoxin type. I don't know if that makes a difference.

So glad you took her to your vet, but am a bit shocked that the emergency vet released her with still blocks of poison in her system. Hoping that Lily is on her way to a full recovery!
