I tried to watch it again this morning because my husband missed it last night. They want $1 on, On Demand to watch it. No way am I paying to watch anything on over the air tv. It actually pissed me off. It was a hilarious show though. I am not home to check but there is no way I am paying. I pay enough for cable. I thought network tv was free and only certain movies you had to pay for. Even all the more reason cable sucks. (Sorry stepping of my soapbox.) Watch it for free on NBC.comSave

I thought they were all overacting at different points and hated the laugh track. It did have its moments and I'm hoping they settle into the easy, natural banter that was so great the first time around. My biggest laugh was Karen, barefoot with her feet tucked under her, sitting on the Oval Office couch.
Other people mentioned the laugh track too. I am going to watch it again this weekend, I was kind of going between this show and football....so I didn't catch it all.
It's a live audience. They have always mentioned politics but in passing. I hope this will be the only really heavily political episode. They erased the final stuff because they said they never would have written it that way if they knew there would be more episodes one day. I thoight Jack breaking the fourth wall "got it?" was a cute way of catching us up. They all worked great together just like the old days.

My biggest laugh was Karen, barefoot with her feet tucked under her, sitting on the Oval Office couch. I detested the laughter. Even if it's live, it sounds enhanced. It was fun to watch, but add me to those who thought the acting/comic timing/pacing was really clumsy. But I'm admittedly biased: I gave up on the series because I thought it became less natural and more over-the-top as it went on. It was like it eventually became a caricature of itself. (Just for fun, I watched the first two episodes of the series on Hulu this morning. Even for a brand new show, it had a much better flow than last night. Jack was absolutely charming and Karen used just a hint of a baby voice.) I'll keep watching, but I hope they find their rhythm. I wonder if Karen sitting on the couch in the oval office was a nod to Kellyanne Conway being photographed doing the same thing a few months ago.

Apparently I wasn't the only one hearing a laugh track and it is a hot button for the cast & creators who brought it up when no one asked about it in this interview. I've been on studio sets and seen the "laugh" and "applause" lights which technically aren't a laugh track, but there was something unnatural about the delayed laughs in the episode that makes me think they were lighting up during taping. Really? That would make for a disjointed edit wouldn't it.

I am sure it was on purpose! For those that felt there was overacting, did ya see the original? They all overact. That is part of the charm of the show (if you enjoy that). Karen is my spirit animal. Jack is my imaginary best friend.

I had higher hopes for this returning show because it was being aired on the original network. I find that more and more I don't like Netflix original programming and I don't wind up loving some of the returning shows or remakes shown there. So I was thinking this might be better simply because Netlfix wasn't involved. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I don't know if that's fair, but it's what I found myself thinking. Anyway, I did like the episode pretty well, though as many have said, I will be happier if there is less political aspects to it next week.

DH and i watched and i have to say that it was a bit disappointing. it was great to see them and there was the familiar feel but with all the hype they put out there, the story line was kind of lame. maybe i'm just tired of all the political stuff but i wish the plot revolved around something else. at the end of it, DH said "i think you will have to watch the rest of the episodes without me". i'm going to watch next week hoping they really hit their stride.

Two things became clear while watching it - It's really hard to see any of them in any other role and it would also be impossible to substitute another actor into any of those roles. I've seen all of them in other roles, but all of them are just so right for the roles that they have in this show.

Loved it! Loved the politics and the references to the past seasons. I laughed out loud, really hard, which I don't do often when it comes to TV shows (Modern Family is the only other show that cracks me up like that) because most TV is stupid.
Karen Walker is my spirit animal.

I enjoyed it, but what made me laugh the loudest was about 6 minutes in my husband turns to me and says, "Wait, is this new? Is the show back?"
I thought it was pretty funny and I am glad they are keeping it so similar to what we loved about the original run.

I'm in the minority. I pvr'd it, watched about 5 minutes and deleted. One less show to worry about this season.

On the Previously TV forum, a moderator said they had screened the first 3 episodes and the upcoming ones are not political and #2 is particularly funny.
I love "Just Jack" and Karen, missed Rosario and could have done w/o Grace's assistant.

Before the Nov. election, the cast got together to do a political PSA video, and that led to them thinking about doing the show again (if memory serves). I just assumed that's why this first episode was so political.

I liked how they explained away the kids and such and then Jack looked at the camera and said "Got it?" Haha! I think I missed that part...where are the kids??

Grace is recently divorced and staying with Will. They didn't say what happened to the police officer Will was dating, but HCJr did some filming, so we will see him. Also Stan is still alive and Karen is still rich.

I liked how they explained away the kids and such and then Jack looked at the camera and said "Got it?" Haha! I think I missed that part...where are the kids?? It started with Karen saying she had a weird dream and she went on to explain all the stuff that happened on the previous episodes and Will and Grace said yeah, all that happened but not the kids. They said yes we were with people but now we single and the kids never happened. So I guess they were chalked up to a dream Karen had.

Karen had a dream that Will had a kid and Grace had a kid that met in college and got married - they said "what? that never happened, it was all a dream". Then Karen said "you mean Stan is alive and I am still rich too?" So basically that was their way of throwing the series finale out the window. It was pretty funny the way they did it.

I liked it although, I don't remember how it ended at all.. I think I must have jumped ship at some point.. I remember Harry Connick Jr. and Grace dating or got married... that's the last of what I remember...
I did enjoy it but hated so much of the political stuff I almost turned it off. Just sick sick sick of anything political these days. I will try it again and see what happens.
