What are you grateful for today?
As for me, a dear friend and co-worker quietly told me today she's pregnant. They have been trying for some time, and she has experienced a loss so she is cautiously joyful. I am over the moon for them and hopeful that this will be a smooth pregnancy for her. Right now, her numbers are good and the doctors office is very positive. Plus this means another co-worker and I get to plan a baby shower. Seriously is there anything better than cake and punch?
I have also been diligently trying to put money away toward our dream trip next May. Things have lined up that I can start booking things later this month. Expenses we thought "might" happen (I hate car maintenance) ended up not being necessary. I can't help but think how freaking lucky am I to be in a house we "own" planning a dream trip when 18 months ago DH was concerned for his job security.
that's mine, what's yours?

I am grateful that my dad made it home safely. I'm grateful that we are all healthy and content. I'm grateful for my faith and the strength and comfort it gives me... Always.

I am grateful for friends, both on the internet and in person. Friends whom I have never met who step up and are there when I need help, friends who I have met but are no longer near me that drop everything to talk to me when I need, and new friends who accept the crazy i bring and actually enjoy it.

I am grateful for the entire team at the hospital where I will be having surgery in two weeks. Everyone I have had contact with - by phone or in person - has been helpful and polite and extremely tolerant of my imperfect German. I have had full explanations of what is happening and why. There has been co-ordination in all areas, including my post-hospital rehabilitation. All in all, I am feeling so relaxed about the whole procedure, mainly due to the care and professionalism of these people.

I am grateful for my loving and caring physical therapist. The encouragement that they give me as I learn to walk properly after injuring myself.
For my husband and son who cared for me all summer through 3 surgeries and the recoveries. For driving me every where, for all the cooking and cleaning & fetching that they did.
For my husband's job that let's him take off work as needed, sometimes at the drop of a hat. And for the great insurance that we have through them.

I'm grateful for my good medical insurance, also. DH's expenses are well over $2 million over the last ten years.

My dgs, 11 yo, got his insulin pump this week and no longer has to have 5-6 shots a day! I have a co-worker whose son was just diagnosed T1D this past summer. He also has the pump and they were excited to take this next step. Very cool for both you and your dgs that he no longer has to have the shots.

I am grateful for this thread. It made me stop and think and put in perspective the things we have going on right now. I'm grateful for my DH who is a comfort to me in the tough financial times we have had lately. I'm grateful for my 3 happy and healthy kids. I'm grateful that my DD has adjusted to college this year and is thriving at school. I'm grateful for the comfort my God gives in my times of need.

Right at this moment I'm grateful for my iPad, the internet, the Peas, Dish TV, Netflix and Amazon Prime. It's all keeping me from being totally bored out of my skull since all I can do is sit in this chair with my elevated foot on ice. I'm also grateful that by Christmas I'll hopefully be through the worst of the recovery from my recent surgery.
