I am wanting to make my daughter a blanket out of the really huge wool yarn. Do you have anyrecomendations on where to buy it?

I like Hobby Lobby, Joann's, Michael's, AC Moore, etc., when it's on sale. Basically if they have what I like and it's on sale, I will buy what I need. I don't crochet anything that needs the really expensive yarn from specialty shops.

Google "super bulky yarn" or "jumbo weight yarn."

I agree with the Patter 's suggestions. If you have a Michael's I would start there and use your 40% off coupon (on the app - although HL and JoAnne's also have coupons on their app) - Michael's has added a lot of nice bulky yarn recently (look for Caron Cakes - I think 3 cakes makes a regular sized afghan) but all the major craft retail stores carry bulky yarn. Have fun with your new project!

I made my own. Three inch strips of no pill fleece. Walmart sells the fleece for $3 a yard. I needed five yards. You want to buy a whole piece to cut so you have less sewing together.

My knitting needles are from Home Depot. The are dowels I think they are 2 inch ones or 2.5 inch ones. Much cheaper and bigger than anything you can find online. And can hold the whole piece easily.

Define "really huge". Do you have a picture of what you would like the end result to be?

It took longer to cut up the fleece than it did to knit. I think I spent less than an hour to knit.

Megmc Thank you! I'm going to try it with the fleece. The yarn on Etsy is really expensive!

Buy six yards. To make yours a bit wider and If I were to make another one I would cast on 18.
I sat in a cafe chair, because the post are to heavy to really hold.
Things I would not do. Buy used flannel sheets at thrift stores. The prices here are ridiculous. Walmart is less than $5 a yard for fleece and you can buy straight yards. Don't do the round corner cut, I found it a huge waste of time. Just cut long strips. I personally think that joining the pieces together by the slit method was a waste of time. You have to cut each piece twice then join together. It was easier just to sew the ends together
