I'm starting the day w/a dental cleaning and then dh and I will have an afternoon date at the local horse races. It's also a food truck event. So, dh will have dinner there. I'm off the hook, again. I'm getting spoiled over here. What's on your menu? teddyw, good luck on your move this weekend. Delta Dawn, have a good trip. Have a great day and a fun weekend.

I have no idea what we’re eating today. I’m currently waiting while my Dad gets a much needed haircut.

Dental cleaning ......*shudder*.
We had something we haven't eaten in a long, long time: boiled pasta, panfried an onion and some sausages, whisk eggs and mill, add spices ... and put it in the oven for an hour or so. And the kids loved it.

Last night I ended up deciding on Pizza, so tonight will be the left over cottage pie from Wednesday. DH will finally be home from Orlando tomorrow afternoon, so life can go back to a bit more normal, for the next two weeks at least.

We will be at a volleyball tournament ALL NIGHT! From 4:30 to after 8. So, it will be food from the concessions for us. Tomorrow is the big surprise party day!! Wish me luck that this all comes together ok. This volleyball tournament is throwing a wrench in it because the results tonight will predict the times they play tomorrow, which is right when I need to get SO to the venue. UGH! I have her coach in on it, so she is there to help get daughter to the games if it conflicts with MY time. LOL Always something...

Lasagna and garlic toast.
Dinners might be switching to beans and rice soon though because Dh and I are thinking 2018 is the year to finally take a trip to Disneyland!! Just kidding about beans and rice(kinda). Woah there is LOTS to check out and plan for. The boys have no idea and I want to keep it that way.

I am off the hook for dinner tonight. Dh is out of town on a job and Kaitlyn and I are going to a yoga class at 7. I haven't done yoga in years and will probably struggle through the class. A good friend of mine is teaching it and Kaitlyn REALLY wants to go.

scrapmaven - Thank you for the tip on the movie hahahahahaha! We watched some of the Youtube versions earlier and it was so damn funny and so scarily true, although their trailer is much, much bigger than ours. We also looked online at smaller trailers, so we are on the way to happiness and ease of use. I miss Lucy and Desi, though. Such great actors and I forgot how much I loved their singing together. Dinner is likely guacamole and bean tostadas. Dh is not going to be here so I have the avocado all to myself. Thanks for the thread.

This school year I have decided to make Friyay and Saturday easy peasy dinner night. I do not need left overs like I do for the rest of the week. High school is no joke. Holy poop.
So tonight is left over roasted chicken that will be shredded and warmed up in my homemade bbq sauce. Dh and I will have bbq chicken sandwiches with italian pasta salad and chips. Dd will have the chicken with chips and steamed carrots.

newlywoods03, we took our first trip to Disneyland when the kids were 5 & 7 and kept it a surprise. Originally booked it for early Dec and then Feb, having to cancel both trips so thank goodness we never told the kids. Everything lined up for a May trip just after DD's 7th birthday which was awesome because there were a couple of rides she could go on by herself. I highly recommend The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland as a great resource. We followed one of their suggested itineraries closely for the first couple of days and the winged it for the next couple. I'm not sure what's for dinner. I'd love to do breakfast for dinner but the kids hate that. I fool them by making a fritatta. I think we will have a fritatta for dinner. A spinach & feta fritatta. Best of luck tomorrow, scrappert!

A decision was made and we ate early...like 2:30 early. I think dh and I make good old people. We ordered in Chinese and I ate less than half of my plate.

Another old lady checking in. In the fall and winter, we often eat dinner as early as 4:30. Not tonight, I need to get outside and do some mowing in the cool of the evening. This should be the last mowing of the year (hopefully). I'm going to have cereal for dinner and DH will have wings and a side TBD. The Birdhouse Lady, I hope you enjoy your yoga night. I started two years ago and I love it. I'm still not very limber, but I feel so great on the nights I have class. It also helps me stay calm and deal with stress so much better.

And the kids loved it. Other than the sausage part, that sounds a lot like a savory noodle kugel. Which I love! Yum You can also do a sweet noodle kugel with cinnamon & apples that is awesome. I didn’t make it this year because the kids weren’t home and my foot was hurt so I didn’t want to stand and cook

So DS won a Round Table family pizza dinner at the ballgame last week. So that's where we're headed after the 8yo (hopefully) earns his new green-blue belt at TKD tonight. newlywoods03, they'll be at a great age for Disneyland next year. We took our kids when they were 6 and 4, and the 4yo was still a little too young. I spent most of our time in Fantasyland (?? the one with the little kid rides) with her. Exactly as I had done with my youngest sister when I was 11 and she was 4. Some things never change.

We don't want to go in the summer though since we aren't used to the hot weather and the boys aren't fond of it. Maybe April, May or December? Thanks for the book suggestion! Will for sure order it soon

leannec Why so early? You don't have little kids and your dd's are old enough to get up & ready without you. KelleeM I know that you need to be up early for your job but your DH, why get up so early. That makes for a VERY long day. Anyway, pizza night tonight here.

Going to a birthday potluck tonight. I'm taking champagne and a pickle platter. Yeah, a little odd, but I've made lots of pickles over the last couple of years, and I'm going to part with some tonight. Pickled cherry tomatoes, red onions, peppers, and cucumbers both sweet and dilled. And pickles carrots, if I can find a jar downstairs; I might be out.
