I like the meats, cheaper than the supermarkets and fresh. Milk is a good price. Fruits and vegetables are a good price, just don't buy for the week. Other than that it is hit or miss. Their gluten free was good when DS had to go gluten free for 6 months.

I like their tortilla chips and salsas. We actually like their specialty coffees and I really am pleased with their protein and meal replacement bars. We buy produce there, and some meats. Also when we are looking for now and again treats they usually don't disappoint!

I love our newish Aldi. Some of the things I buy are crackers, cheeses, deli meats, fruits & veggies, delicious creamy hummus, $2 wine that is decent, frozen pizzas with the flakiness crust, an awesome broom set for $7, brioche bread, and staples like milk, eggs, yoghurt. I am always amazed at the register total, even compared to Trader Joe's. The quality of everything I've tried has been really good. I love TJ, but the flavors of some of their name brand items is a little off, IMO.

I drive to Buffalo to shop at Aldi. There cheese and milk and eggs are at a good price. They have some specialty German items that cost at least x2 times in Canada. Makes up for the $ difference. My store is very clean & tidy. The price on dairy items is constant and the snack food is reasonably priced.

The last time I went I got hummus (it was a party type pack with four flavors...all yummy), salted pita chips (way better than Stacy’s which is what our grocery store carries), pizza in the refrigerated section that we all liked a lot, peaches, canned tomaoes with green chilies, canned refried beans, instant chocolate pudding mix, and cake mix. Oh, and milk for $1.59 a gallon!! I wish I had one more convenient to my house but do stop whenever we go by the area where this one is.

I miss Aldi My kids didn’t like the taste of milk, it’s usually cheaper, so worth a try, but my kids wouldn’t drink it. I bought nuts there. Their dark chocolate and oat granola is just as good as the nature’s valley brand. Pop tarts are almost as good. I liked their spices, good price and good flavor. I was always happy with the quality of meat I got there. My kids like their “gogurt”. Frozen waffles and breakfast “corn dogs”. I liked their canned veggies. Man! I love Aldi!

Cheese, cheese and more cheese, all kinds. Nice selection of organic and gluten free items... Don't forget CHOCOLATE. Mine just got a whole selection of refrigerated snacks: sliced apples, sandwich fixins', stuff for a quick lunch if needed. Eggs, butter, and I get the canola oil 'fake' butter in a tub, very good! Cream cheese... Remember if you don't like it they will give you a FULL refund. Out of season berries, frozen.

Aldis is my favorite. I live about 45 min from one but shop there one a week. I love their bone in pork chops. They are really thin and I grill them with bbq sauce for a quick delish meal. We got huge pumpkins last week for $3.50 each. Smaller ones go for double the price locally. I love the fruit and veggies. Their salsa and chips are really good and I buy the pretzels in the tubs. My cart is usually full and it's less than $85.00:)

I think it’s hit and miss. You have to watch the produce. Some stores are nasty, the newish one by me is surprisingly clean. Milk and eggs are cheap. They have knockoff Baileys that is really good.

I like to buy all baking staples there. Their olive oil is a great price. We also love pita chips, hummas, cheese, and olives. Their basics like milk, eggs, pasta, and rice are great prices too.
Produce is pretty hit and miss. I often find myself needing to go to a 2nd store for a good selection of produce.

Protein bars that my son eats. They have a wide variety, flavors we like, even low carb ones. $1 or less per bar.
Nuts, snack mixes, seltzer, chips.
I don’t usually get perishables there because it’s not near my home but I am near one sometimes thru work.

I've been to the one near me exactly one time. It was clean but extremely disorganized (other than the chip aisle) Toothpaste was nexted to canned beans which was next to canned peaches that was next to bbq sauce, next to shampoo sort of disorganization. I knew they didn't shelve things like other stores but this required walking up/down each aisle at a slow pace to make sure I wasn't overlooking what I came for. It wasn't grouped with similar products together. They were out of milk, eggs and somehting else that I don't recall right now but was what I went for.. mine doesn't carry any alcohol at all.

Yea mine doesn’t carry any alcohol either. I’m bummed about that too as they are supposed to have a series of gins & bourbons for the holidays and that would make great gifts in my family.

While the produce selection is hit or miss, when it's good, it's really good! Things I like to get include scallions -- double the package size and half the price of other stores, berries, cilantro -- also half the price, potatoes, bags of organic small peppers, asparagus, spinach, arugula, and other leafy greens.
They have a coconut chia seed granola that I really like. I usually treat myself to their chocolates. They have a dark chocolate covered salted caramel that is yummy. Sometimes I'll pick up a few of the individual slices of frozen cheesecake for dd.
I hate grocery shopping but I don't mind going to Aldi because it's so small and is always a quick trip.

Aldi's is my first stop for groceries and then I hit WM or Publix for the few things I didn't get at Aldis. Lunchmeat is good - I mean, it's not Boars Head from the Publix deli but for pre-packaged lunchmeat, it's just as good as any other I've never had a complaint about the meat - the selection is smaller but I've always been able to find what I want (but I also tend to cook pretty standard/basic cuts) and their meat special of the week is usually a very good buy. Unlike many others - I've never really had a problem with produce at Aldi's. I think once I had strawberries mould a bit earlier than anticipated but that's it. That is an area where I find I have to finish up my shopping somewhere else because the selection isn't quite broad enough some weeks. I love their guac and hummus and cheeses - almost always some new cheese to try and the butterkase is a lovely mild sandwich cheese (and melts nicely for grilled cheese as well). Milk and eggs are CHEAP - esp. compared to supermarket prices - I haven't noticed a difference in taste/quality but I suspect who supplies them may vary locally. chocolates and speciality holiday items - esp. Christmas are well worth it. And don't forget to check their non-food section - we've gotten anything from camping gear to small appliances to pyjamas and shoes and tools there - at great prices and again, quality is good. editing because you asked what we didn't like: I wasn't impressed by cake mix/frosting to be honest. It wasn't awful but it wasn't up to their (or my) usual standards. My family didn't like the bratwurst from the hotdog section but they love the bratwurst from the meat section - I suspect that's more pickiness than anything

The Aldis in my area consistently beat Kroger on milk and egg prices by .75 to $1.00 per gallon or carton. The last time I was there I saved about $9.00 on milk/eggs. I have three kids so we go through a lot of milk and eggs.
The baking staples are priced under Kroger too. Flour, sugar, baking powder, confectioner's sugar, etc.
As others have said, produce is hit or miss.
I've not bought a lot of meat other than lunch meats, brats and Italian sausage. The price on lunch meat is ok and the quality is ok. Italian sausage is priced under Kroger and is is great.
I love that I don't have to play crazy games in order to get a good deal. Kroger's buy 10 save 5 or buy 5 save 5 drive me absolutely bonkers.
Of course I fulfill my vices of German beer and chocolate at Aldis!
Don't forget your quarter for the grocery cart and bags for your groceries! They do sell bags cheaply if you forget.

Aldis is always our first stop and we get probably 90% of our food there. Our store has great produce and meat.
We get the majority of our staples there, from crackers to cookies (which DH swears taste just like Girl Scout cookies) as well as paper goods including paper towels and toilet paper.
And I like the fact that it is smaller and there are less items to look through. I know the layout of the store and write out my list accordingly. If it is crowded I can still usually get in, do a weeks worth of shopping and get out, with bags bagged my own way in under 40 min. If i dont have to work around tons of other shoppers, that times drops to 30 minutes.
As for stuff we don't like, these hasn't been much. The only thing that really stands out is the fall I tried their special buy butternut squash ravioli. I cooked it according to directions and then sauteed it in some brown butter and feesh sage. It was such a pretty plate if food and I couldn't wait for that first bite.
Imagine my disgust when that first bite was not savory as anticipated, but instead tasted just like pumpkin pie filling. UGH.
However, having just one bad experience with that hasn't kept me from continuing to try new foods they offer.
And another bonus is their special buys on non food products. I have gotten stuff for dorm rooms, kitchen stuff, and even pillows all at prices cheaper than Wal-Mart or Target.
Go there several times and try several different foods/types of food before passing judgement.

I've been buying toilet paper there and pleased with the one in the red wrapper. Milk is cheap (87 cents week before last!), cottage cheese and yogurt are good.
The chocolate section is excellent and their special holiday season items are good and inexpensive.
I've bought baby back ribs there to cook in my Instant Pot and was very happy with them.
My husband was eating a lot of cheese puffs for weeks - easy to eat and stay down when he was on chemo - and they were about 88 cents compared to almost four dollars a bag for Cheetos puffs or $2 for the cheaper store brands at other places.
I like the chicken salad, the croissants, the snack bars to stash at school.
I've gotten great prices on produce, but I always try to check it carefully. What's available can vary greatly, too, so I don't always count on finding what I want.
Non-food items can be great buys, at cheap prices.

I buy all of my milk, cheese, yogurt and eggs at Aldi's. A dozen eggs are rarely over 80 cents. We use a lot of eggs do that makes me very happy. At other stores they are two or three dollars a dozen.
I LOVE their chocolate. I buy most every thing they sell. The only thing I don't like is their bread. I have bought 12 grain, white bread, bagels, hamburger buns and all of them were dry and not good. However, their long skinny baguette of sourdough was very good. It may be because their bread is not full of preservatives but I like soft bread so I don't buy bread there (except for the sourdough) any more.
I love their pita crackers and their humus. Canned veggies are cheap and good. One of the best things is the attitude of the people who work there. They are friendly and so pleasant to deal with. The first time I shopped there I bought very few things. The next tine I bought a lot more. Now that I know their products I buy most of my groceries there. I will be very upset if they go out of business.

Trying to think what I don't like at Aldi's. Not much.
I prefer their yogurt to Chobanis. I have several close to me, and haven't ever had issues with the produce. That's where almost all of ours comes from.
I adore their olive tapenade hummus. I put it on top of their Kale Veggie Burgers, with sautéed baby spinach. Makes an easy, delicious meal.
Eggs, almond milk, cheese, meats. I like their baked chips for an occasional treat. We always have the canned 3 bean salad in the house. Only one I've found in the U.S that is more vinegar than sweet, like my German Grandmother made.
Even having access to a military commissary with German products, I still get most from Aldis.

Produce must depend upon your store. We were in the store once and a manager came and was ripping the employee about ? being wilted/poor quality. Our store has good produce.
I love their box of entertainment crackers, as well as the other crackers. Saltines, not so much. Chips are as good as the Frito-Lay chips and much, much, much cheaper. Nuts = good Breakfast cereals = good (We get the raisin bran, oatmeal) Wine = all the wines we have tried have been good Baking needs - good (my husband is picky about the flour and he approves) canned vegetables -good cheese - never been disappointed frozen waffles = good--they are a bit smaller than eggo waffles Their chicken salad is good milk/eggs always cheaper than competition
I have never tried the paper goods, so have no idea.
