for corruption and bribery...Senator Menendez from New Jersey.
He's on trial on federal charges of bribery. And where is he right now? Lounging in the Carribean.
First sitting senator in 4 decades to be on trial for federal bribery and corruption charges.

As a democrat, I think he's disgusting and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. There is no excuse for what he did. I haven't heard any democrats in my circle of friends say anything but the same. He's a disgrace to our party.

First sitting senator in 4 decades to be on trial for federal bribery and corruption charges. I guess Ted Stevens, convicted of federal corruption charges while serving as senator from Alaska in 2008, doesn't count? As for Menendez. I don't think Democratic politicians are beyond reproach. If he's guilty (and the articles I've read don't give me enough to sway me either way), then I hope he gets the book thrown at him. But honestly, here's a small list of the items (in no particular order) that have far more concerned than whether cargo screening equipment was delayed in arriving to the Dominican Republic: Trump's mishandling of Puerto Rico relief efforts Trump's taunting of North Korea Trump's Twitter use in general The spiraling costs of the administration's use of golf clubs and private planes. The push by Republican congressmen to deny basic health care to half of the country. The resurgence of vocal racism and sexism in America.

Oh stop. If I have to fact check the New York Times, then you're acknowledging they are not credible. Besides, this is a message board, not a thesis.
Just stop with the nonsense.

NYT said that it was the first time in 36 years a sitting senator was charged with federal bribery. Even though he is also charged with federal corruption, they were careful to just talk about the bribery charges when talking about how long it had been since a senator had been charged. They weren’t wrong; your summary was just a bit off/too broad. Anyhow, if he is guilty, I hope he is fully prosecuted and sentenced.

There are dirty politicians on both sides of the aisle and I’m happy to see them held accountable regardless of their political affiliation.

First sitting senator in 4 decades to be on trial for federal bribery and corruption charges. From the NY Times: After court Thursday, Mr. Menendez held a news conference at Newark Liberty International Airport, where he planned to board a flight to travel to Puerto Rico to survey the damage wrought by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. That doesn't sound like "lounging in the Carribean (sic)" to me. If I were going to 'lounge' in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico would not be on my list right now. SaveSave

OK, I read that but now the news is reporting something different. Maybe Menendez changed his mind.
The point of the OP was to point out a Democrat who was being tried for criminal conduct. That's all.
I notice you say absolutely nothing about that; you're too intent on minutia.

Oh wait, forgive me; it was the New York Post, not the NYT. Goes to the Carribean00Regardless of where he went or which paper reported it, the fact remains he's in the middle of a federal criminal trial on corruption charges. No amount of nit-picking will change that. To those libs and Democrats who have denounced him; kudos to you for your integrity. To the rest

I'll say this: regardless of party, if he's guilty, he deserves the punishment meted out to him. I don't care whether they're Dem, Rep or Martian. Break the law, get what's coming to you.
The tit for tat rings hollow to me, however, considering Trump has flouted numerous infractions of law, both basic and arguably constitutional, while the Republican controlled House and Senate sit on their hands.

The only tit for tat on this thread is you bringing up Trump on a thread about Senator Menendez.

1. Here's one difference between me and many Trump supporters: I say, "If Senator Menendez is found guilty, hang him high!" See, no equivocation. No "Witch Hunt!!" No "It's everybody else's fault!" If he's guilty he goes to jail. Period. End of discussion.

I'll repeat what the others have said. Try him. If he's guilty, sentence him. Let the system do its job.
What exactly were you looking for??
