I have a gym membership but never go. Had it for over a year and maybe went 3 times! Finally starting to watch my eating and already lost a few pounds. Thinking maybe a treadmill in the house would help? Anyone have one they love? Or do you suggest that I try and find a way to get to gym cause I'll never use a treadmill at home? I'd love to have some input.

The guys at treadmilldoctor.com do annual reviews on good/better/best values, etc for both treadmills and ellipticals. Lots of good info on their site!

I love Precor machines a lot. The have long belts which I find easier to use.

I'd recommend going to a sporting goods store and shopping in person. There is such a difference in models, etc. Ours is specifically designed for my DH to be able to run vs just me using it for walking. Keep in mind they do cost money and take up space. You have to really be self motivated to use it.

Personally, I think you should go to the gym. You are already paying for it - why pay for a piece of equipment that takes up space in your home when you already have access to a treadmill? I would find a way to make time for the gym.

My husband just bought us a Nordictrack and it is terrific. I like having it at home as I can use it any time I want, without having to get ready and drive over to a gym. I also like the privacy of having it at home - no judgments from strangers. I don't know the model, but it inclines, a feature I will use as I get fitter. It also connects to the internet so that you can "walk" different routes around the world, as the machine inclines and declines accordingly. Pretty cool.

I have a Nordictrack Commercial 2450 and love it. I run on it all winter long and when it’s too hot in the summer. This week I was too busy to run while it was light out so I ran on the treadmill at 11 pm!
