Paul Krugman’s response to FEMA making excuses.
“Um, D-Day? Berlin airlift? (which is a pretty good analogy) We used to be very good at logistics. Make America great again?”
The day after the hurricane passed our military should have stormed the beaches of Pureto Rico like my dad did on D day in WWII. They knew before the hurricane struck PR was going to get slammed. No excuses and the buck stops with that fool in the Oval Office.

There are no excuses for the people of PR not getting the help they desperately need. Donald Trump is such a shallow man. He wants his "win" without doing the work. The American people will all suffer greatly under his lack of leadership.

Trump had a golf course in Puerto Rico that was "failing". Trump pulled out, owing $33 million, and then claimed bankruptcy (again). He might have a gripe against Puerto Rico, IMO. Then again, he's an idiot who can't do anything right!

It's only going to get worse w/the tech exit.
As this country spirals into violence, greed and apathy, many people w/means who can get out and work elsewhere will start to do just that. I may be one of them in the next 5 years or so. We are going in the wrong direction, imo, and faster than ever. The just-released tax plan kind of cemented it for me.

Greaaaaaaat. Just what we need on our national conscience.

Watching Stephen Colbert and he was talking about trump and him dedicating the President Cup golf trophy to Texas, Florida, & Puerto Rico.
He had a trophy made that says “Emptiest gesture awarded to donald trump”.

SF Gate...
"I think it's now acknowledged what a great job we've done, and people are looking at that," President Trump said. "And in Texas and in Florida, we get an A+. And I'll tell you what, I think we've done just as good in Puerto Rico, and it's actually a much tougher situation."
But Trump's comments - and his trip to Puerto Rico - come nearly two weeks after Hurricane Maria first ravaged the island, and the president will touch down in San Juan amid harsh criticism of the administration's slow response to the natural disaster.“
The only reason Puerto Rico was a “much tougher situation” is because you made it so with your lack of leadership. What you don’t get is when American people are in need you get the job done and don’t make excuses. THAT is what true leadership is. Something you have never had.

Ezra Klein....
“I hate to tell you, Puerto Rico, but you've thrown our budget a little out of whack." Honestly, try to imagine if Barack Obama had said this. Just try.“
trump is right. What happened in Texas, Florida, & Puerto Rico along with not gutting Medicaid kind of put a crimp in trump/GOP grand tax cut plan. Of course tiny hands wouldn’t make that comment about Texas and Florida because their votes count and they voted for him.
What a petty little man.

So PR should be happy that more people died with Katrina? Appalling. From WaPo.
President Trump told Puerto Rico officials they should feel proud that hadn’t lost thousands of lives like in “a real catastrophe like Katrina,” and also said the devastated island territory was throwing the nation’s budget “a little out of whack” during his first visit there since Hurricane Maria ravaged the island nearly two weeks ago.
Trump’s remarks Tuesday came as he touched down in San Juan amid harsh criticism of the administration’s slow response to the natural disaster, and after he praised himself earlier in the day for the “great job” and “A-plus” performance he said the administration deserved for its response to Maria.
“Every death is a horror, but if you look at a real catastrophe like Katrina, and you at the tremendous — hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people that died, and you look at what happened here, with really a storm that was just totally overpowering, nobody’s ever seen anything like this,” Trump said, before turning to a local official to ask how many people had died in storm. “What is your death count as of this moment? 17? 16 people certified, 16 people versus in the thousands.”

Pres Trump just completely snubbed the Mayor of San Juan in his "news" conference. It's truly appalling the level of pettiness this man exhibits. I am absolutely ashamed of him right now.

I saw those remarks. If there is a silver lining in the destruction in Puerto Rico it’s that the majority of residence don’t have cell service and power so they don’t have to listen to the words of this fool about what they have just lived through and because of his lack of leadership continue to experience. Unbelievable.

You're a better person than I am. I won't watch him at all. I'm not surprised though. - his comments on Mexicans when he declared his candidacy
- "grab 'em by the pussy"
- LJohn McCain is not a war hero because he got caught
- disrespecting a Gold Star family
- making fun of a disabled reporter
If my own children had done even one of these things they would have been grounded for four years, not elected. Each comment should have been a dealbreaker. I hold my head down in shame for our country.

linkSenator James Inhofe Republican From Oklahoma gave an interview to Tara Golshm at Vox. Here is part of the interview. The upshot is these mass shootings are cultural that stem from the permissive laws coming out of the sanctuary cities. Who support a culture of permissiveness. Well I’m glad the fool explained it. With this kind of thinking we really are doomed aren’t we. “Tara Golshan The president said today that there would be some conversation on gun laws. Do you think — James Inhofe On what? Tara Golshan On gun laws. Do you think that in the future — do you think that there is anything Congress can do? James Inhofe No. Because everything they are talking about now is already illegal. Nothing that they have mentioned — the individuals that are trying to infringe upon Second Amendment rights — none of those things would have precluded this from happening. So, yes, there is going to be discussion. There is going to be discussion on it. But I don’t think anything is going to happen on that. Tara Golshan So what do you say to Americans who are concerned that the US has more gun-related homicides than other developed nations, and 1,500 mass shootings since Sandy Hook? James Inhofe Hey, you’re pretty good. Tara Golshan I did my research. James Inhofe You — okay. Well, again, you just have to look at each one. What would have happened if we had any of these changes that we talk about — and it would not have precluded them from happening. We go through this every time, whether it’s in Connecticut — that isn’t the problem. The problem is a cultural problem. So that’s what I would say to them. Tara Golshan So how do you address that then? Clearly this isn’t sustainable — James Inhofe Well, that’s the big subject. How do you address the problems that we have in this country? Whether it’s stronger laws, whether it’s — Tara Golshan What kind of laws? James Inhofe Well, no — you’re asking a bunch of questions. Tara Golshan What? James Inhofe Well, I’m just saying you’re not going to resolve it by passing laws in terms of restricting gun owners’ rights. Tara Golshan So I see that you are recognizing that there is a problem. So you are just saying it’s not something that Congress can solve or even work toward? James Inhofe There’s a cultural problem. There are a lot of problems in this country having to do with permissiveness. Having to do with — what about all these states that have laws that protect people who break laws? I mean, the cities that support — that is something that certainly has a profound impact on people’s behavior. You can go ahead and break a law and you can come to a sanctuary city, and they wouldn’t enforce the laws.
Tara Golshan So you’re saying the presence of sanctuary cities is perpetuating the culture of the Las Vegas shooting?
James Inhofe (talking over question) I’m saying we’re inundated with permissive laws — that has a lot more to do with it than gun [ownership] laws. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That’s what I’m saying.
Tara Golshan Just to clarify —
James Inhofe Look, it’s got to come to an end here. You are asking the same question over.
Tara Golshan Okay. Thank you so much.

What partt is fake. Where you are heard telling the people in Puerto Rico to have a “good time” or that their hurricane wasn’t as big as Katrina or videos of you throwing rolls of paper towels to people? Which was fake?
