I really like some of the core kits, but those things are massive. I really wish they'd pare them down and sell them as mini kits. Eight of one type of card is just too repetitious, for me anyway. The one time I did use a core kit to do a large, 250 picture album, I still had about half the cards left over, which I gave to a friend. Do any of you actually use up an entire kit?

I know what you mean. I'm using one core kit for my niece's baby album and there's no way I can use it all. Just gets too boring.

I agree; they need to make either smaller kits or have only 3-4 of each design with more variety.

I agree. I love the size and amount of cards in the stampin up lines. I wish they would do that.

They do have quite a few of the "value kits" available now. Of course, those are different editions than the traditional core kits.

I usually end up sharing a core kit with my sister since we both do PL. You are right, there are tons of cards in one core kit.

I'd also like to know who actually has used an entire kit. Too many cards, especially the 3x4 ones!

Same here! My sister and I have several core kits between us, but I don't like using the same card over and over. It bores me. I mix up different colors, patterns, whatever, depending on my mood.

Agreed! I wish I had someone close by to share core kits with.

I prefer to buy 1/3 kits from people in swap/shop groups. I don't like getting stuck with 10 duplicates of everything!

I liked using the core baby edition to complete an album but I'm getting bored with the other core kits for entire subsequent albums. I'd love for the albums to flow like the baby one did but I'm not achieving that with other core kits. The cards just don't fit the theme of pics on a spread every time. It ends up looking more "scrappy" than I would like when I sub other papers and cards in. I subscribe to studio calico and get many cards from there. Perhaps I should ditch the idea of using one care altogether.

Btw I started off with Midnight for my son's second album and decided that it wasn't enough color so added Sunshine into the mix. I like the black and white of the midnight journaling cards but the set was too bland alongside the bright colorful pictures I was using.

I used a core kit to create a retirement album for a colleague and agree that not only were there too many repeats of the same card, several of the cards had the exact same phrase but were designed differently. I didn't want to use the same phrase so many times so I ended up covering up portions of cards with stuff from my own stash. More variety in a kit would be really nice. As it is, you can't really just use a kit for an album unless you want every spread to be very similar.

The core kits duplicate way too much for me, so I've never bought one. I am just recently getting into PL and decided to sub to Paper Camellia PL kit to get a variety of cards can use.

I'm fortunate that two friends pocket scrap & both have different aged girls & scrapping styles. They basically split each kit - one gets the cutesy/super girly cards, & the other claims the sophisticated feminine cards. While I'm left with their few masculine rejects, it works great for me! I do not pocket scrap, but occasionally incorporate cards into pages about our 12 y.o. son. Perhaps you can find someone or a small group to split kits.

Would love to know what you think of Paper Camelia. I've been happy with Studio Calico and Cocoa daisy. I too like the variety that subscriptions offer for my books.

I can't visualize a world in which I would ever use up all my cards of my "4" kits!

No more "Hello" on cards, every kit has multiple Hello sayings on the cards.

I used kits when I did the first two years of P365 and I did use most of the kit both times but I just bought an old kit Seafoam and had forgotten how many duplicates there were in the older kits. I to prefer the mini kits as I just don't want so many of each card.

I'd also love a kit with other types of sayings...like 'rough day' type of stuff...if I see one more ' best day ever!' card I'll scream!!!

I buy the large kits and then go halvsies with a friend. That way they are only $9 a piece after the 40% discount. I have purchased 4 mini kits this weekend. Probably don't need them all, but the I loved the gold in several of them.

I can't visualize a world in which I would ever use up all my cards of my "4" kits! I am probably going to retire in May. I turn 50 two days before I retire. I am trying very hard to imagine this world.

I can't imagine using all of a full kit. I've seen quite a few folks sell either 1/2 or 1/3 of a kit. I've actually bought 2 kits that way. I think it's more practical.

The only time I have come close is my first year doing PL and I used the Turquoise kit when it was sold all as one kit with album, protectors, etc. I still have a few pages of that one to complete so have kept the cards but am not super excited about it. It got too monotonous for me.

I know that I will never, ever, use up the 3/4000 cards I have, but I do love them. I try to use at least one on any traditional pages I do, and I am enjoying speedy scrapping the PL way where I have loads of photos from one event eg a holiday. But, boy, do I love looking through my boxes! I have 4 big kits, and keep them in their boxes, and have a little kit, and a few parts of kit bought from a retailer who splits them in to small amounts. I am like a kid with football cards. I just love flicking through a pile of them, and getting them in and out of their little compartment lol. Please tell me I'm not alone

Ugh...yes I agree! speaking of too many cards. I have Amber ed. that I can split/swap with someone? two people? There were TONS of the same style in the beginning. It was so boring. Even though the number of dupliates has cut down some...I still only really want two of each style. Let me know if you want to swap any amount for some amber...20 or 30 of just one design is also good!!!

I buy kits and give 2 cards of every kit to my BFF. I am going to buy it anyway and might as well give them away to her. LOL And I also use the PL cards on the front of greeting cards that I make for military personnel to send home. I make about 50 cards every 2 months which is very time consuming otherwise.
