I followed the project girl for the longest time. She was a designer for My Minds Eye, Jen Allyson. I have always wondered what happened as she suddenly stopped posting on her blog and all social media a year ago. I hope everything is ok with her. I enjoyed her posts and Mr. Project her husband. Does anyone know what happened to her?

She's divorced and seems to be doing well-at least as much as one could tell from social media. I follow her on instagram. Look for _wonderfully_chaotic

Jen is one of my best friends IRL. She and Spencer (Mr. Project) did get divorced about 18 months ago. They are both doing well, and moving on in their lives. Their boys are sweet and well-adjusted. I will let her know you asked about her.

Jen Allyson is/was multi-talented from what I remember isn’t she? Between scrapbooking and designing and interior design? She had the gift.

She still designs for MME (both their paper and party/stationery lines) as well as fabric. And, I'm not gonna lie: she's been a big help to me as we are renovating our home. She's my go-to when I'm stuck, and I'm lucky to have her as a resource. (Especially when my husband doesn't get my vision... it's nice to be validated in my choices!)

Yeah I remember her for interior design skills, too. She is just gifted that way. She is also extremely sweet isn’t she? She was a very nice pea. She needs to find her way back home when she is ready.

I've often wondered where she was - so sad they divorced but glad she's reported to be happy .

With all the renovations that they did on first home then built the Canyon View home and how they seemed so together I just was shocked to hear they divorced!!!

I think this is probably a perfect representation about how people show their best face publicly. This is why the carefully cultivated IG shouldn't make others feel less than. You don't know what their life is really like.

I will let her know you asked about her. I met her at a quilt guild meeting in Sacramento. When I realized I knew her from TwoPeas, I told her who I was. She seemed briefly horrified (something I don't know to this day how to interpret) but I got to hold her (then) baby who was adorable and sweet. As was his momma.

I think a lot of peas feel insulated from actually meeting other peas IRL. Some of that is the scope of our size with peas from all over the world and i'm sure some feel more anonymous not using real names. But considering she had a very public blog I'd be surprised you were the first to say you knew her from the peas.

I'm not sure why she would have been horrified, tbh. Jen and I met through 2Peas, and we've attended pea gatherings together where we met others.

You don't know what their life is really like. This kind if bugs me a little bit, so I'm going to respond. (I doubt you meant it in a hurtful way, but I just want to clarify.) Their marriage was good, until it wasn't. Their divorce was fairly quick; it all happened within just a few months. It's not like she spent years presenting a fake life online while she was crying in the bedroom every night. But, yeah, most of us present our best sides in public. It's human nature. Online personas are also very one-dimensional. In reality, while Jen is sweet, she's also sassy, and protective, and fun, and sarcastic, and giving. I can use the same words for her that she used to describe someone else to me yesterday: she takes shit from no one. She's awesome, and one of my favorite people in my life.

Thank you for saying that and sharing about your friend. I don't have a personal connection but have admired her work for a while. I hesitated before saying she was divorced and honestly probably should have just skipped that part. I guess to me it was a descriptor like brunette or beautiful. It doesn't have a negative connotation to me because I don't feel she has portrayed anything negative about it. It's just a fact. It's part of her story.

Gennifer No diss meant to your friend. People do present their best side to the public. My point is that a lot of people (even on this board) say they feel envious or depressed or less than because their life doesn't look like what they see on social media. My life on social media isn't the whole truth either. What you see is not the whole truth and comparing your real life to someone's photos or posts is missing what their life is like in reality. People are always shocked when someone they don't know but follow online gets divorced. That amazes me. Most people with a professional online presence aren't going to post that they are having marital problems. They'll maintain the status quo until the deed is done.

lots of people get divorced. The majority of people get a divorce. She's in the majority and not the minority. She seems to have recovered nicely and looks amazing. Im happy for her because she didn't stay in a marriage that wasn't working, for the sake of the kids. She's a strong and powerful woman and very inspiring.

It is nice to defend your friend. But I didn't take lisacharlotte's post to mean she was being fake but that we can all show the world what we want and we shouldn't compare our own imperfect messy lives to anyone's IG life. Shoot if you looked at mine you'd think I lived in Paris and only ate desserts!

Just have to say I'm a big fan of Jen Allyson, both with her design work at MME and sharing her house renovations starting with the Sacramento area house years ago.
