That's all I've heard so far. I'm going to make some time to play and make some cards. We have a storm blowing in so I won't be going anywhere... I should probably get started on my Xmas exchange cards

I'm always making cards, but this was the one weekend I was going to work on something else. Looks fun, though!

I saw this earlier today but haven't had any time to craft - was weeding the vegetable garden then planting out some seedlings, redoing some tubs and generally having a bit of a go at the garden. Just in time because it's started raining again.
I think I'll work on some cards tomorrow instead - have some new Lawn Fawn sets I'm keen to try out. Just recently have been having fun stamping the images and cutting with with my Cameo. Trying to avoid having to buy matching dies and it's working well so far.

I would celebrate by starting on the holiday exchange cards, but ACOT is dragging its feet shipping! Maybe I will draw up some samples to try out when I finally get my paper.

Made two yesterday. Does that count? Took some of my least favorite papers from Snow & Cocoa and made one reasonable card w/the paper and one w/some wood ornaments I've had forever and wasn't using. Going to make some more cards today w/a few more of the papers I didn't really like.

Didn't know about that, but I'm making my holiday exchange cards as well this weekend. I just received the Lawn Fawn shadow box die set and I already made 5 shadow boxes. I am so excited about this die. And the shadow box cards collapse flat into an A2 envelope.

OK, grammadee. I am horrible at taking pix, but I'm trying because you inspire me. Here are a few I did. I tried to use some papers and embellishments I don't really like because sometimes that's a fun challenge for me. Here's what I came up with.

Those are awesome cards, @zingermack! I think there are two reasons I have leftovers when I am done a round of card making:
1. I really LOVE the supplies, and can't seem to find the perfect place for them, or 2. I am NOT in love with them and I have used up all my fav's first and this is what was left.
Either way, it is a challenge to make something with those scraps when next they come out of the bin. Last year, I pretended I didn't have any from the year before and worked with all new materials when I made cards. This year I am making myself use the stuff from the bin before I get to play with the new stuff.

Last year, I pretended I didn't have any from the year before and worked with all new materials when I made cards. This year I am making myself use the stuff from the bin before I get to play with the new stuff. Aw, thanks. Definitely not my best work, but meh, they're done I really didn't like those two papers from Snow & Cocoa (the black w/the triangles and the pink/blue nordic pattern - and I have another sheet of each SHEESH!). So I made myself use them somehow. I figured they're alright for cards for teachers and others to whom we will give gift cards and so the enclosing cards aren't that important. I also didn't love the way I free-handed the "merry" w/ the gold embossing powder - I used a versa fine pen, but it was running out of ink so I pushed a little too hard on it and on fairly patterned old green bazzill paper. I'm trying to use up all the stuff I don't love so when I make the cards "that matter" - like for family and friends, I'll have only the papers/embellishments I LOVE! I did that last year too and it worked out really well.

I did some really simple cardmaking today - sticking cute 3x4" cut aparts onto card bases and calling it done. I played with a few In a Creative Bubble printable leftovers from my Xmas stash and made some very, very simple cards out of those too. I found 10 cards leftover from last Christmas that I had made from IACB printables, too. So now I have 50 cards ready for the card exchange and for my own card list. Woohoo!

Quick cards are still home made cards, joblackford. I love using cutaparts for cards! Those will be one of the first things I will do when I dive into my new Christmas supplies! Good job, @zingermack, finding a way to use pp you don't love. I have been using punches and dies with some of those papers, or using them for backgrounds for focals I DO love. Also dressing things up with glitter and metallic and Nuvo drops where I can. I wouldn't worry about a little flubbing up when you are hand writing greetings. Happens to me all the time. I like to call that "authentic".

I tried to zoom in to show it better, but I would probably have to shoot from another angle and I suck at photography. PS - I agree joblackford . Done is done!! And hands-on is hand-made! Good going.

I didn't even realize it was World Cardmaking day until it was posted on my other scrapbooking messageboard. I've actually made several cards this week anyway. Today is the last day of my vacation and I'm going to make some more. I just gave a friend a "Bone" Voyage card today at church. A Karen Burniston Accordion card with her two dogs (in cardstock form) on it! She and her husband loved it. I got my latest NEW Karen Burniston card on my birthday on Thursday, how perfect! It is the new Popup/Popstand Christmas tree. I'm making cards to give, cards to sell and cards for my Christmas Card exchange. I've gotten quite a few of Karen's dies in the last few weeks because they were on clearance at the last place she licensed her designs. And some, I had to track down because I "had" to have because I wasn't sure which ones she'll come back with a similar design or something that will never come back. She now has her own company. I know she doesn't plan to do the larger animals but doing much smaller less cartoony animals.
