Tonight I am thinking about making Tuscan Bean Stew. However, I might have to go to dreaded Costco. That means a possible plan change. I HATE going to Costco, but you can never have enough paper towels and frozen stuff. I'll pick up a chicken, too. Costco needs a Starbucks inside. At least that would make it worth going.
What's on your menu?
Have a wonderful day.

My last homecooked meal for nearly a month tonight! I am making a cottage pie - it is in the oven browning now. I made a large amount, partly because it is hard to make a small cottage pie, and partly so the DH doesn't have to worry about dinner for himself tomorrow night at least. I am being admitted to hospital tomorrow morning and will have the surgery Friday morning. I will try to check in here when I can, though I'm not sure my dinner plans will be very exciting!

Good luck sueg!! These 2 weeks have flown by! Tonight will be meatloaf. Last night no one was really hungry so it was a fend night. Works for me. And I didn't get home until after 6, so cooking would have meant eating at about 7 or later. No thanks.

My Blue Apron box didn't show up yesterday. We are on the edge of the wine country fires, so I don't know if that interfered with deliveries. Anyway, it's supposed to be here today, and if so, we'll be having chicken sandwiches with buttermilk dressing and oven carrot fries (something like that) for dinner. Otherwise, maybe fish sticks? Not turkey again, anyway.

It rained for about 45mins this morning which made a gorgeous double rainbow!! So so pretty! Now, the sun is out!
I have baked ziti planned since I have some mozzarella and parm that need used up. I'll also have a green salad with it and give the boys cut up veggies.

Not sure what's on the menu. I hate to go to the store because the smoke is so bad. I just can't fathom how bad it is in the areas affected by these horrific fires.

I grocery shopped yesterday without a real plan for the week so am trying to figure how to use what I bought. Right now I'm leaning to meatloaf, mashed potatoes and cauliflower with spaghetti squash and/or roasted carrots. I'm strangely excited about the spaghetti squash because it's one of my favorite vegetables and we haven't had it for months. sueg, enjoy your last meal before heading to the hospital.

The tribe sends mighty arrows of strength and healing to our sueg who has braved the recesses of her fear, pain, and apprehension over the upcoming surgical repair of her ailing, aching, a**hole of a body part. These arrows will also penetrate the hands of the mighty surgeon who will bow to the grace and loveliness of our beloved patient who possesses such strength. Those hands had better repair the damage or the tribe will fly over on a charter plane to attack said surgeon with OUR hands or give him the remains of the cottage pie in the face. Thusly, our sueg will be back with us in no time. Thusly??? That all disgorged from my own ailing hands that could not begin to do surgery, we are having hamburgers tonight. Thanks for the thread.

sueg yes also what the mighty tribe scribe said.....healing wishes winging your way and I am almost wishing the surgeon makes a goof so we can all get on that chartered plane and fly over there......LOL! For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying over easy eggs, those really yummy cheesy little sausages fried in olive oil with chives, and Belgian waffles......I am pretty sure after the egg part none of this is on the dash diet but I bet it tastes good. Happy Wednesday Everybody!

I really have no idea. Not in the mood to go out to the store. Was craving a salad with salmon earlier, but that has passed and now all I want is a Pepsi. I am trying to wean myself off of it. I had a half of can at 1 pm and will have a full can around dinner time. This is a huge decrease. I was drinking huge amounts up until just a few days ago. The withdrawal headaches are difficult and I am a bit moody today.
I do have some soup in the fridge, salad makings and some stuff to make a pasta dish. Will see how I feel later.

Hugs, suegDinner? Oh, yes, we had dinner five hours ago *frantically searching my brain in a desperate effort to remember*......and we had......spaghetti with a tomato sauce. Since there's only two more weeks until "the Jungle book", quick and easy meals are the only option.

Debating just seasoning and baking the chicken or breading it and baking it. We’ll see what I’m in the mood for when I get home.

Thank you and everyone else for your kind thoughts. I am not feeling very strong right now - I have been in pain all day and it has been so tiring getting everything ready when it hurts to move. I'm off to bed now and hopefully will get a good sleep. At least tomorrow I know they have prescribed a sedative for me at bedtime.

Dd is feeling better now but I have come down with a sinus infection and throat irritation...maybe laryngitis. There will be a high of 83° but I don't care because I want soup!
So, my super delicious homemade chicken tortilla soup it is with freshly baked GF blueberry muffins. Mmmmm.

sueg, you have so many people thinking of you around the globe. Check in when you can. Leftovers for us tonight...what ever that might be. I won't be going to yoga tonight because last evening I was bitten in the hand by a dog! It was crazy! As I walked down a street near our house, a dog came racing down a neighbor's driveway and made a bee line toward me. Before I could react, he bit my hand on the palm just below my ring finger. The owner saw it happen and yelled out to me, "sorry about that," and then beat a hasty retreat into her house! I was in shock and it really hurt. I was bleeding like crazy and turned around an walked home. I have a puncture wound and a small scrape. I cleaned it really well and this morning the school nurse looked at it and doesn't think I need stiches. After she put steri-strips on the puncture wound, it did begin to close. My hand is sore and swollen. I'm walking again tonight, but I'll keep on eye on that house.

Well, last night I was going to make a creamy wild rice soup, but that didn't work out. My brother had nose surgery yesterday, and had complications. I had to pick him up and take him to the ER, and then he ended up having emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. I had a snickers bar from the vending machine....
So tonight I'm going to try again, and make the soup.
Although I'm really tired and just want to sleep through the evening, but I know that won't work....DD came home from school today throwing up. Apparently she threw up while driving, but was able to get it in her water bottle 😷 this news as I was visiting my brother in the hospital around lunch.
ETA: BF saw the stress in me as soon as I got out of my car when I got home. He volunteered to go grab DD some ginger ale for her, and is now making nachos for us for dinner. No soup, but I don't have to cook. Now we're going to watch Survivor, and chill.
