sueg , you have so many people thinking of you around the globe. Check in when you can. Leftovers for us tonight...what ever that might be. I won't be going to yoga tonight because last evening I was bitten in the hand by a dog! It was crazy! As I walked down a street near our house, a dog came racing down a neighbor's driveway and made a bee line toward me. Before I could react, he bit my hand on the palm just below my ring finger. The owner saw it happen and yelled out to me, "sorry about that," and then beat a hasty retreat into her house! I was in shock and it really hurt. I was bleeding like crazy and turned around an walked home. I have a puncture wound and a small scrape. I cleaned it really well and this morning the school nurse looked at it and doesn't think I need stiches. After she put steri-strips on the puncture wound, it did begin to close. My hand is sore and swollen. I'm walking again tonight, but I'll keep on eye on that house. tuesdaysgone , I'd be really concerned about the bite and at the very least, report it to animal control. In our county, an animal that bites a human is put under quarantine. This happened to a friend when their own pup bit one of the kids. The family needs to be put on notice in case it happens again (or if it has happened before). I'd also want to know if was up-to-date with vaccines. ETA My "like" of your post was not really a "like" kelly8875. I really wish we had a hugs button. Sending a few your way, too.

The tribe sends mighty arrows of strength and healing to our sueg who has braved the recesses of her fear, pain, and apprehension over the upcoming surgical repair of her ailing, aching, a**hole of a body part. These arrows will also penetrate the hands of the mighty surgeon who will bow to the grace and loveliness of our beloved patient who possesses such strength. Those hands had better repair the damage or the tribe will fly over on a charter plane to attack said surgeon with OUR hands or give him the remains of the cottage pie in the face. Thusly, our sueg will be back with us in no time. Thusly??? That all disgorged from my own ailing hands that could not begin to do surgery, we are having hamburgers tonight. Thanks for the thread. What desertgirl said! sueg, wishing you a routine surgery and a comfortable and easy recovery. Who cares if you're not cooking? It's most important just to know that you're recouperating and letting us cyber take care of you.

It's feels like the tribal triage unit today. tuesdaysgone , don't hesitate to call your doctor if the bit gets too red or hurts more. kelly8875 I hope your brother is feeling much better quickly. Hope your dd is already feeling much better, too. I'll send you a hazmaat suit. sueg , your feelings today completely normal. What I can tell you is that pain feels so good when it's over. Also, I completely understand the frustration of being a patient and feeling stuck and scared. PM me anytime you want to vent. lucyg , glad you're safe from the fires, but do stay indoors and pay attention to your breathing and that of your dgs.

My last homecooked meal for nearly a month tonight! I am making a cottage pie - it is in the oven browning now. I made a large amount, partly because it is hard to make a small cottage pie, and partly so the DH doesn't have to worry about dinner for himself tomorrow night at least. I am being admitted to hospital tomorrow morning and will have the surgery Friday morning. I will try to check in here when I can, though I'm not sure my dinner plans will be very exciting! Good luck. Heal fast. Hugs

tuesdaysgone- don’t hesitate to go to the dr. That’s awful. I can’t believe the owner wasn’t more concerned. sueg. Good luck tomorrow. Good thoughts for you. I hope the food is good there. Had to go into work and then to the mall. The purse I ordered for dd#2’s Birthday this week came and the leather just wasn’t what I wanted. Ran to Nordstrom for a new one. Forgot about dinner. So I had some strawberries and yogurt. Now I’m starving. DH ate at golf & dd had a team dinner.

scrapmaven , thank you. They ended up sending the kids home and closing our schools for the rest of the week. The air was so bad (AQI 400-ish) around noon that I thought we'd have to go camp out at my brother's house in Berkeley, but it got better and I have a window open at the moment, letting in cool air finally. We'll leave if we need to. AussieMeg, your dinner/event looks amazing. Have a fabulous time and bring back some pix for us. tuesdaysgone - don’t hesitate to go to the dr. That’s awful. Thank you for letting us know lucyg. I'm sure dgs is not disappointed about school; though he'll have to make it up on the back end. AussieMeg, what a fantastic birthday gift.
