We talked about this in the other thread dealing with how all of the woman are coming out claiming assault. My view is that assault towards anyone is disgusting and that they need justice. I also clearly stated that I remember how back in the 90's you had the 2 Corey's claiming they were abused and passed around Hollywood. I know he/they were involved in drugs (now I don't wonder where they got them or who started them on them) and this discredited them in many people's eyes....... regardless of all of that I hope this interview makes its way around and people start to place some value on his words. It's sick to imagine this much perversion and corruption. www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/corey-feldman-talked-hollywood-abuse-barbara-walters-2013-article-1.3568826

And that kind of reaction is why people don't speak up.

What a bitch. Revealing that there are pedophiles isn't damaging an entire industry. The PEDOPHILES are damaging an entire industry. Way to shoot the messenger Barbara. Does anyone have a link to the full clip - I do notice that they cut right after she said that - I would like the full context.

Tip of the iceberg. I hope this blows up because she's right about one thing, it will be HUGE.

I find the whole thing offensive. I applaud the woman who came out and who will still be coming out, but I find this more disturbing. These kids go to Hollywood with stars in their eyes and these "power" people give them a taste of the high life. Then they get them hooked on drugs and the rest is a very sad history.
I hope this blows up and she is held to the fire. I've briefly read stores about how Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been touched by the Harvey story. This..... in an interview form of evidence is even more damaging!!

That is one helluva a knee-jerk reaction. "You're damaging an entire industry."
No Barbara, the pedophiles and those who hide/assist them have done and continue to damage the industry.

She has always been the superior bitchy type. I like her even less now and didn’t think that was possible.

Disgusting.
Obviously blame lies with the abusers, but I am also angry at the people who enabled these things to happen - whether they turned a blind eye, didn't want the trouble of getting involved, or dismissed victims when they came forward. There are so many people who are complicit. And it's not just Hollywood.

There's another video out there too, where Corey is more specific. This is a one to one video/documentary. It was done in August 2014 Corey exposes Hollywood

Barbara's response reminds me of the defenders of the Catholic church and I hope this scandal goes down a similar path, where the victims are finally believed and see some sort of justice. The abusers are the ones damaging the industry, not the victims.

I remember watching this episode of the view when it first aired. I was appalled by Barbara's behavior toward Corey. I lost any respect I had of her. It still makes me so angry that I'm having a hard time getting all my thoughts into words.

There's little wonder why some of these child stars go off the rails like some of them have when they grow up and become teens/adults. Makes you wonder how many of them have been subjected to all this.

part of barbara's career was built on interviewing these high powered harassers so she is not about to double back and throw them under the bus. i have no doubt she was probably harassed when she was first starting out but she probably thinks that was part of the hollywood culture and part of "paying your dues".

Wow. She's a disgusting person. With those words, she was condoning sweeping sexual abuse under the table.
Truly sickening.

Why do women not speak out? Because the first response is to shoot the messenger.
Thousands of women deal with their abusers in their life because to speak up or cut them out would result in the victim being ostracized and blamed for the "drama."
Cory is so brave to stand up and speak out. I know he got a lot of flack for that book. It was way more than a bemused exclamation from Barbara Walters (who should have known better!!)
